Xiulin looked up when the door opened and Mu Shen walked in a suit. He looked like he just walked out of an important meeting.
Mu Shen looked at her seriously as he took his seat while she locked her phone and sat comfortably looking at him with the same gaze.
"Well, looks like there is no talking here, only gazing?" she asked with a raised eyebrow as she observed him.
Mu Shen broke into laughter catching her off guard.
"Who are you?" he asked as he looked at her honey brown eyes.
"I thought you knew already," she said with a wink as she sipped her tea.
"Oh, I don't please do tell" Two can play a game. He thought looking at her.
Adrian paused the video immediately after the last kick in a hurry. His eyes shined. He zoomed into the girl's face in the video.
If someone told him that's his sister from her posture and fighting style he will believe them in a blink but he knew that wasn't possible. He.. he saw her dead body.
But he felt he had to know he felt something calling him, he didn't know which instinct it was but he hoped it would do him good. He called his men immediately.
The girl in front of him was really pretty with big brown eyes and a small nose with heart-shaped lips, but that's not the person he came to meet.
"Sean, you changed a lot," she said in British English with a small smile.
"Not as much as you," he said, eyeing her top to bottom.
Xiulin laughed, understanding his humor. "You definitely got funnier," she said giggling.
"Xiulin this isn't funny anymore. What are you playing at?" he said looking at her with an emotion which she was very used to hatred.
"I don't know what you are talking about," she said, taking a light sip of her tea.
"You are speaking as if we knew each other and then you ask me to guess. What is this to you? A freaking game?" he said in rage getting up.
Xiulin didn't flinch at his voice, nor did she look at him as she calmly looked outside.
She couldn't help but snort at his stupidity.
"Tsk Tsk I thought you were smarter than that mon ami. But looks like I misjudged" as she got up to move closer to the window to see a bird trying to fly from its branch.
"Let's say I'm smart so what do I call you Elena or Miss Carlo?" he taunted.
A smirk appeared on her face as her disinterested face slowly changed as she turned to catch a glance at him.
"Well, both are fine. In the end, they are the same aren't they" she said with a smile as she went back to her place.
But he didn't have the same smile as her he still had the same frown on his face.
"Why should I believe you that you are Elena when she doesn't have the slightest resemblance to you?" he really wanted to get up and search for a camera right now to tell him that there is no prank-playing on him.
"I know everything about her," she said as she glanced away, though she didn't wanna say this she had to. "And the Carlo family"
That was her last gamble, but she trusted this guy. Though he didn't what he was getting himself into she knew him way before he ever knew she existed.
She chose his dad to trust and now its his chance.
Though it was sad, it was her hardest truth, she never had an identity, she was invisible to everyone. She only had one identity it was to be his sister and she wouldn't change it for anything else.
Seeing her in a daze, he looked at her with a sigh, if she was really acting right now she will get an Oscar, but if she isn't he doesn't know what he will do.
"Ok, let's do something," he said loudly. Getting her out of her trance.
Seeing that he caught her attention he continued."I'll ask you a few questions about what I know about your family and you answer"
Seeing that she hesitating " not your family secrets," he continued making her glare but she nodded.
"Where are your parents?" he asked with a cold smile.
Xiulin's face paused as it brought her back to that day. As she saw her house getting burned her brother closed her mouth to not let a sob out of her.
She could hear her mom screaming for her and her brother, but all she could do is stop herself. She was selfish, wasn't she?
Her tear-stricken face mirrored the fire burning in the house as a drop of a tear fell on her hand only to turn and see that her brother wasn't any different than her.
She hugged him tightly as he picked her up and ran deep into the forest.
