Chapter 67

Park slid his hands to my back and we passionately entwined with each other. It was Sanna's comment that brought us back to reality.

"Hey, lovebirds, hold your horses there! You do realize that you're in public, do you? Please, I'd like to have a peaceful last night. You making me feel lonely isn't helping at all."

I got off Park's lap. Blushing, I returned to my seat, feeling the heat in my face mirrored by Park's own embarrassment. "Shut up!" was all I could mutter to respond to Sanna's teasing.

As the tension dissipated, one man raised his glass and proposed a toast, "What's wrong with celebrating our victory in advance?"

Yeah, this might as well serve as an advanced celebration. Some of us wouldn't live to see the victory. Some of us would die not knowing the outcome of this war.

We were faced with the grim reality that death was an ever-present possibility, and we had no choice but to confront it head-on.
