The Monster is a Meanie

"You do not have to take me there mother."

Sicarius said as he was being dragged along the first floor by his mother. Due to a mishap with a powered's abilities on the road, both of them have arrived late and yet Agatha still insist on taking Sicarius to the top of the tower.

"Shush now Sicarius, even if we are late I have to see to it that you dont wander around again." Agatha replied, "There's the elevator! Come, Sicarius!"

"Mother, what will the founder think if you are late right after that ruckus yesterday."

Agatha's pace slowed to a halt, then in a quick sudden motion she held Sicarius by the shoulders and stared him down.

"Do you know how to get there Sicarius?"

"Yes, mother,"

"Will you promise me that you'll be safe and won't wander?"

"I promise, mother,"

Agatha's eyes were soft as she sighed, "That's very good son, I have to go now before I get in trouble again."

Sicarius nodded while he entered the elevator and quickly pressed the highest button available, the 99th floor. The doors started to close, but not without Agatha watching him worriedly and mouthing an "I love you." to which Sicarius simply stared in reply.

In a speed that hurls the insides of a stomach, Sicarius had reached the 99th floor. What greeted him when he opened the door were loads of people with very noticeable qualities. Winged humans, humans that had rocket thrusters as feet, men in iron armor, and other humans that were able to defy gravity.

It seemed as if every flight powered human in the city was packed in this giant corridor. While the people around him were different from the land dwelling powered below, the design of the floor was the same. There in the middle of the corridor was a tv display which showed the stairs to the founders domain.

Needless to say a six year old wasn't a usual sight for these people as while he carried on his way everyone couldn't help but glance at him. They assumed he was lost and feared for his safety, after all, the walls on the edge of the 99th floor were open, allowing for easy takeoffs.

It wasn't until Sicarius reached the stairs to the 100th floor did the others drop their attention on him. And by then Sicarius had another problem. The moment he opened the door to the 100th floor he was greeted by a little girls voice.

"Great grandpop said he had a new training partner for me," A plump little girl, not older than 7 years of age stood tall with her hands in a battle stance. She had blue angelic eyes and long blonde hair, and features that were rather angelic.

However those angelic features were contorted into a silly imitation of a wolves glare at the moment as she eyed Sicarius "Is it you!?"

"No." Sicarius replied as he started walking forward, completely ignoring the young girls ramblings. He had no time to waste with a child, he was here to train, not to play.

"You're lying!"

The girl said as she sent out a punch in one clean motion towards his face. If it was anyone else they would be impressed by the punch, precise and fast despite having short stubby limbs, but to Sicarius, It was as slow as the worms in Slothia.

Sicarius only has to tilt his head a little to completely dodge, and by then he could counter her with a hit to the back of her skull. But that would mean she would die, so he simply tilted his head, and flicked her on the forehead.

"Ouch!" The girl was pushed back,

"I don't have time to play with you." Sicarius muttered as he began to walk away once again.

"You're a meanie!" The little girl wailed and ran off to a hallway. Sicarius assumed she was off to tell to her great grandpops so he followed and he was right.

The girl ran into a sort of training facility of pure white resembling a dojo where there were various training equipment placed all about. The old man sat, meditating, in the middle of it all on some form of elevated platform that seemed like a battle arena.

Sicarius stood at the entrance to the dojo, intently staring above the head of the old man. As a second passed, he entered and headed straight toward the old man and the little girl.

"He's a meanie! I don't like him." The girl wailed into her great grandfathers arms. A red spot had noticeably formed on her forehead.

"Girl, if you punch be ready to get punched! Or in your case, get flicked!" The old man scolded, "Now fight him properly this time!"

"No! I want to fight with the other kids again!" The girl complained,

"That wasn't a fight! You were beating them like ants! That is not the kind of fight that will teach you anything!" The old man yelled with a vein popping out of his forehead,

While the two were busy arguing with each other Sicarius had already arrived in front of them. He glanced at the old man with his dull violet eyes then proceeded to bow.

"Student greets, mentor."

The old man halted his bickering with his great granddaughter and raised his eyebrows at Sicarius's show of respect.

"Are you trying to act subservient so I won't train you till death boy? Because it isn't working" The old man asked stated,

Sicarius merely raised his head and spoke as if the old man's words were nothing but a fart, "When will we begin our training, mentor?"

The old man scowled. He eyed the boy who appeared detached from the world itself. The old man didn't know whether this boy was just slow, or that he just didn't care. But if he was either of those, why would he even be so eager to train? Why would he say those words he said yesterday?

"Tell me boy, why do you seek strength?" He asked, if it was for revenge, to abuse the weak, or any other such shameful ambitions then he will make sure to cripple this young seedling before he fully matures.

Sicarius remained stoic. He knew that the old man could differentiate any lie from a fact however this question posed no problem to him. Why does he seek strength? It's simple really.

"I want to be the strongest. I want to reach the top."

The old man watched Sicarius intensely for a few minutes. All that could be heard was the hushed sobs of the girl beside the old man. Then the old man raised his fingers as if he was going to flick the air.

Sicarius felt a tingle travel down his spine. He heightened his hyperfocus to the maximum just as the old man flicked a bullet of air right onto him. In a fraction of a second Sicarius tilted his head to the side. A bullet of air whizzed by his right ear and onto a training dummy with a loud smack.

"Was my answer not to your liking, mentor?" Sicarius said as he calmly straightened his head. It seemed as if nothing just happened. Calm and unfazed was his demeanor, the opposite of the old man, who despite his best attempts to hide it, had widened his eyes in shock.

He can't believe that he tried to get his great granddaughter to spar with a monster like this.
