An Extra's Family life

"You're gonna tell me where you were and what happened now," Beatriz said in a stern voice.

"I entered a dungeon," Bellator said as he looked at his angry mother.

"What else? You were gone for 10 days. No dungeon takes that long. Where were you?" Beatriz asked, pissed.

"I just went to different dungeons," Bellator responded.

"Why are you lying?" Beatriz asked as she showed him a news report on her Z-Watch.

The title read:

[ Only survivor of Enchanta Grove dungeon incident]

A picture of Bellator covered in bloody clothes was on the front page as news outlets told the story.

'Fucking news reporters, I should sue them for taking my pic.'

"Uhmmmm..." Not sure how to respond, Bellator stayed silent.

"You promised me you would stay safe, and this is what I see," Beatriz said worried.

"I was safe; that wasn't even my blood, it was a monster's," Bellator said, trying to justify himself.

'Well, it was my blood, but she doesn't need to know that.' Bellator thought, trying to calm his mom down.

"Well, you lied and said you would be home safe," Beatriz said as she hugged Bellator.

"Do you know how worried I was?" she said as tears stained her cheeks.

"I'm sorry, Mom," Bellator said as he hugged his mother.

'She hasn't seen me for 10 days. I haven't seen her for 1 year.' Bellator thought as he tightly hugged his mother.

"I also want a hug," Aurelia said as she watched them hug.

Picking up his little sister, Bellator hugged her as he stayed in his family's embrace.

"Oh, I got you a present, Mom," Bellator said as he stopped hugging her.

Tapping his watch on hers, Beatriz saw a notification on her Z-Watch:

[20 000 UC has been credited to your account]

Seeing such a large sum, Beatriz's eyes almost shot out of their sockets as she stared, surprised.

"W-Where di-" While Beatriz was stuttering, Bellator spoke.

"It was compensation from the Central Union."

Tapping her watch on Bellator's, Beatriz returned the money.

"What are you doing?" Bellator asked, confused.

"This is your money; you earned it yourself," Beatriz said as she smiled.

"Bu-" Before he could finish his sentence, Beatriz spoke again.

"No buts, you are going into the Academy with disadvantages, no skills, no trait. I'm not sure if you have a bloodline ability. You must use that money to make yourself stronger."

" Bu-" Interrupting him again, Beatriz spoke.

"I won't change my mind no matter what you say," she said.

*Sigh*

"Fine," Bellator said, accepting defeat. No matter how he tried, he knew she wouldn't take the money.

"I made dinner; come grab a plate," Beatriz said as she sat down.

Sitting while having dinner, Bellator got to enjoy himself with his family.

While he was enjoying himself, a flashback occurred. There he saw the goblins having dinner as they smiled, just like how him and his family did.

'I regret it, but I wouldn't hesitate to do it again as long as I can protect my family. I'll do anything.'

Finishing their dinner, Beatriz called Bellator to her room as she gave him a box.

"What's this?" Bellator asked, surprised.

'Is this also from my biological mother? ' Bellator thought, looking at the box.

"It's your school uniform; it arrived yesterday," Beatriz said as she smiled.

"Thanks."

'I don't have a lot more time left with my family.' Bellator thought as he gratefully accepted the box.

Returning back to his room, Bellator laid in bed as he thought about everything he had been through in the past few days.

'I haven't even been here for a month, and I've been through so much. I guess this life is going to be interesting.' Bellator thought as he drifted off to sleep.

Though it seemed he was not the only one who had an eventful week, as in a hospital room in district 3, a boy with a blindfold cried as he sat next to his mother's dead body.

"I'm sorry; we didn't do the surgery in time; your mother is gone," The doctor said as he patted the boy's shoulder.

"It's okay," the boy said as he looked at his mother.

"It's not your fault she ended up like this," The boy responded as he let out a forceful smile at the doctor.

As the doctor left the room, the boy whispered.

"It's the Central Union's fault this happened; I swear I will kill every single one of them. That's a promise I make to you, Mom." The boy whispered to his mother.

And that's how Umbrux Lux, one of the biggest villains in the novel and the one who will destroy the Central Union in the future, was born.

As the sun seeped in through his room window, Beatriz woke Bellator up to remind him to take his sister to school.

After having breakfast and taking his sister to the bus stop, Bellator returned home as he worked out. After his sister returned home, he spent time with her as laughter filled the house.

As his mom returned home, she cooked dinner as the family chatted happily. Bellator's life continued like this for a week until it was finally the day of the entrance ceremony.

So how do you guys think the introduction of Umbrux Lux went?
