Fetch

The poems correlate to personal and world problems that almost everyone can connect with; some poems are humorous and are metaphors toward inanimate objects. A few poems are dark and twisted while others are pure imagery, relating to and bringing light toward objects and ideas. The collection, “Fetch,” intertwines horror and thriller to explain everyday problems and human action while sprinkling fantasy elements on top. (Trigger Warning for poems 1 and 4: Don't read if you've been/ are suicidal and struggle with/ had struggled with an eating disorder.) Written: 2018-2019 Tags: #Humannature, #Goth, and #Romanticism.

I And My James D

It was more than a year ago,

Many memories ago,

In a dark room by the city,

That a man there whom everyone knew,

By the name of James D;

This man was young and free,

But did not want to be loved by me.

.

We were both young,

In the dark room by the city,

But we didn't love how love is supposed to be,

.

I and my James D.

.

And this was the reason why more than a year ago,

Many memories ago,

In a bright room by the city,

A new girl swept him off his feet,

The unlovable James D;

So that she came along,

To worsen his mental state,

In the dark room by the city.

.

Our love was never formed,

For we never even touched,

No intimacy was exchanged,

Between I and James D.

.

The sky turned dark as my bright eyes dropped,

No more curiosity and experimenting inside me.

This man,

A young man,

Who lived in a dark room by the city,

Jested my innocence,

And took the naivety away from me.

.

The sky became bright,

New knowledge grasped my mind,

As I moved and went high,

Far from the city and into prosperity,

Away from the unloved James D,

And the girl who stole the bright light and one shot.

.

Pushing them away from me,

Then and there I left the scenery,

Leaving the unloved and the thief in the dark room by the city.
