SLEEPLESS NIGHT.

Louis didn't care about what was Seren thinking about. The only thing bugged him was who the damn one is Lucas? Why did she call his name so lovingly? Louis was staring at her as he was curious to know why did her eyes sparkle when she called his name?

Kevin said as he remembered, " Aiden do you know what happened today?".

Kevin's voice made Louis come out from his thoughts as he listened to what he was speaking. Kevin told Louis about the legend of queen of index finger and how Seren saved the patient with that iron rod piercing. Kevin looked proud as he was telling him.

Louis was amazed by listening to Kevin's story. Seren cut the bragging man off as she said, " Stop it already. You're making me embarrassed. I just did what a doctor should so don't make it sound like I saved the world".

Kevin complained, " Boss can't you just let your junior brag a little about you? What you did was really something that no one was able to. Everyone was against it but you went with your intuition and you were successful".

Seren cut him off again as she asked, " Don't you have work? It's 12:00 already. I guess you have a surgery with Dr. Caleb in next 30 minutes then why are you wasting your time here?".

Kevin looked at his watch and realized that right now he had to prepare for the surgery. He immediately thanked Seren for reminding him and then bid farewell to Louis and left as he was in a hurry.

Seren said as she looked at Louis, " I guess Mr. Edward should go home too. It's already late so you should go home and have some rest. You have to go to work in the morning".

Louis nodded and then prepared to leave.

Seren said , " Let me come to drop you at the entrance".

Louis stopped her as he said, " No need. It's already cold outside so don't come out. I can go by myself".

Louis was about to open the door to leave but then he again stopped in his tracks as he turned to face her. He asked, " What about the child? Can I meet him?".

Seren replied, " He's sleeping. I just gave him medicines. If you want we can meet him".

Louis shook his head and said, " Let him sleep and not disturb him. He needs rest".

Seren nodded and waited for him to leave. But again he stopped and turned back completely to look at her. Seren was confused. Why did this man stopped again?

She asked, " Do you need something Mr. Edward?".

Louis came closer to her and patted her head. She wondered why did he do so. He stroked her hair as he said, " You did good. I am proud of you".

Louis was appreciating her hard work she did today. He was complimenting her after hearing Kevin's story about how Seren saved the patient who was struggling between life and death. Seren was again shocked by his sudden actions. He had a talent to make her speechless and surprised.

Louis said, " Bye wifey. I'll see you in the morning at home. Sleep early" and left leaving the surprised woman behind.

Imperial City in Louis and Seren's apartment at midnight,

Louis who just came out from the shower and wore his clothes was preparing to sleep. He saw the empty bedroom where only his silhouette existed. He laid down on the bed as he was feeling lonely without Seren.

He thought, " Should I just have asked her to come home with me? I was even fine with staying with her there but it would be quiet uncomfortable for her. Right? It's her workplace anyway".

He remembered the incident when he was trying to leave but his foot wont move. He smiled thinking about himself who was trying to hold on to her like a kid. He tried to find every excuse he could just to stay a little longer with her. Afterwards he just tried to make up for it as he patted her head. He was really feeling lonely without her.

While thinking of Seren, Louis remembered what they did earlier. But suddenly his smiling face replaced with a sulking one as he remembered Seren talking about that man called Lucas.

He thought, " Why was she looking so good while calling his name? Who is that Lucas? Why did she stay with him until he slept? Is it a patient of hers? But which doctor would accompany a patient until he slept? And that too Seren is a woman and that Lucas seems to be a male. How can she stay with him at night until he fell asleep?".

Just thinking about Seren staying with another man at night made Louis furious as he kicked the air and punched the cushions to vent his anger.

After realizing what he himself was doing right now Louis mumbled, " Why am I so angry? What is so special about Seren staying with that damn Lucas? Guess I am just worried for my wife as her husband. Well I can just ask her in the morning as to who Lucas is? Let's sleep peacefully now. There's no need to be angry about it".

He tried sleeping but it wont come to him. As soon as he closed his eyes, weird and strange thoughts came into his mind. He was continuously thinking about what could the relation between Seren and that Lucas be? Why would she stay with him until he slept? No matter how hard he tried, these thoughts never stopped bugging him.

Frustrated by it Louis got up and tried to do some push-ups. He thought that if he got tired then sleep would come to him in an instance but it was of no help to him. He strode towards the kitchen as he fetched some water to quench his thirst from all that exercise.

He wasn't tired at all so he decided to do some office work. He went towards the study room and started working on some files as he was unable to sleep.

He worked till early dawn and didn't even realize the time. He stopped working as he removed his glasses and rubbed his tired eyes. It was 6:15 in the morning when Louis heard the door of being unlocked. It seemed like Seren was back.
