Part Fifteen

A couple of months had past and Devon and I were still a strong couple and I was happy about it.

For the past few days, I haven't really hung out with him because we have been busy packing some stuff and I have been practicing my music for the fair since it starts tomorrow.

As I was practicing I grew really tired. I put my trumpet away and laid on my bed. When my head hit the pillow I was knocked out cold.

The next morning I woke up and was still kind of tired,but not as tired as I was last night. I looked at my clock and saw it was 12:55. Crap I'm gonna be late I have to be at the fair at 2:15. I quickly got out of bed and took a shower then I got dressed into my uniform. By the time i got dressed it 1:15.I quickly grabbed my stuff and my trumpet and went downstairs to grab my keys.

I looked for my keys, but couldn't find them. Instead, I found a note from my mom that said "my car wasn't working sweetie so I borrowed your car for a while. Have a good day". "Are you freaking kidding me. I'm going to be late. Maybe Devon can give me a ride".

I ran out of the house with my things and ran to Devon's door. I knocked on the door really loud for a while when the door finally opened. It was Devon. "Devon I need you to drive me to the fair. I'm going to be late and my mom took my car because her's is not working. Please please please drive me" I said. "Woah calm down. I'll drive you. I'll get my keys" he said and I got happy and gave a quick kiss on the lips and said "thanks babe and ran to his car".

Devon chuckled and grabbed his keys and wallet and met me at the car. We got in his car and we drove off. "Thank you so much babe. I can't thank you enough" I said and said "it's okay babe". "You know you should come into the fair with me" I said and he said "no you know I don't like loud places". Bullshit I said to myself.

I looked at him and said "come on please and plus you can't say that because Florida is a very loud place and we are moving there for college" and he said "I don't know" and I said "come on I know you'll have so much fun and we could hang out and go on rides pleasee".

I was giving him my puppy dog eyes and I could see he was trying to resist,but he cracked and said "fine I'll go". "Yayy" I said and he started to laugh and said "but you are paying for my ticket inside" and I said "okay" as I started to giggle a little because he doesn't know I was given free passes to do anything at the fair including going on rides and getting free food.

When we got to the fair, I put a yellow triangle on the dashboard of the car. "What's that" Devon asked and I replied "that gives us free parking" and he said "oh okay".

We were guided to a private parking lot and got out. I grabbed my stuff out of the car and we walked to the entrance. I went into my bag and got out my ID card to get in the fair and the free passes. I put my ID on and put Devon's free pass on him. "What's this" he asked and I replied "that pass gets you into anything or anywhere you want like food and rides at the fair so don't lose it". "Thats no fair we had an agreement" he said and I said "technically I did pay for it when I joined marching band so don't start".

He sighed in defeat and just nodded his head and we walked to the entrance and they scanned my ID and Devon's pass and we got in. "Come on. I have to get to homebase" I said and he agreed.

We walked to homebase and went inside. When we both walked in, my trumpet section started to call me over. We walked to them and they had decorated our whole area with a pong pong table, a dance floor, and a little stage. "Wow guys don't you think this is a little too much" Devon asked and we all looked at eachother and all said in unison "NAHH".

Devon and I sat down and my group kept on basically interrigating us. They all became very cool with him and I was happy.

We all talked for a while until we heard someone yell "PEPSI!" and we all yelled out "COLA!". Devon looked at all of us like we were crazy and I said "shut up its our calling".

"Are you going to watch our performance?" I asked and he said "sure" and I asked "do you know where to go?" and he said "I'm just going to follow you guys" and that's what he did.

Everywhere the marching band went, he followed and he had an awesome time listening to us play.

When we all got back to home base, I put my trumpet away and couldn't find Devon. I went outside and found him sitting on the steps. "Hey" I said as I sat next to him and he said "hey you did great out there". I smiled at his comment and I said "thank you, you were a great audience" and he chuckled.

I looked at him and saw he was thinking about something. "What are you thinking about?" I asked and he looked at me and replied "I don't know. I just feel like I'm going to miss New York when we leave" and I said "I know how you feel" as I held onto his arm.

"I like how I can easily talk to you. That's what makes you the best girlfriend" he said as he put his arm around my shoulder and I said "it's because I'm a good listener".

We both laughed. "Hey, how about we get something to eat?" I asked and he replied "sure" and I said "I'll go get my bag I'm leaving my trumpet here" and he said "ok". I got up from the steps and went inside,grabbed my bag,hid my trumpet and said bye to everyone. I went back outside and saw Devon talking to someone on the phone. He looked really happy. He was smiling so big it reminded me of Joker's smile. LOL.

I walked to him and he quickly hung up the phone. "Who were you talking to?" I asked and he replied "just my mom". He seemed very suspicious,but I let it go and said "okay are you ready to go" and he said "yea sure, after you m'lady".

He wrapped his arm around my shoulders and pulled me close. "So what do you want to eat remember we get free food from the fair" he asked. "Hmm how about we get Burgers, Pizza and milkshakes" I said. He replied "what".

I repeated phrasing it differently "we put pizza in a burger and we have milkshakes to drink". He answered "You are weird sometimes,but I'm down".

We went and got our free food and sat down at a bench near a stage where music was being played. We ate all of our food and I swear it was the best food I have ever had. "Let's go home" I said and he nodded and went to the car and went home.

When we got home, we separated and I went to my room and got changed. I decided to fix my mom's car so I could get my car back. I went outside and opened my garage.
