The Concepts of Elimination

Dominic was in a frenzy as he watched the walkers approaching.

When Sergeant Castro suggested eliminating the walkers more freely, that was when Dominic moved without restrictions from the rules. At the end of the day, the one with more experience and who was more indifferent to the undead wins. If others see him as a figure, then he will be winning.

Arghhh!!!

The walkers were slow; it seemed like they had been dead for more than two days, which was indeed a lot given the time that chaos had been ongoing.

Everything indicated that infections had increased at a worrying speed, and Dominic didn't understand why.

"To the right, we have more walkers." The sergeant used the name as Dominic referred to the infected, and then everyone started shooting.

"I'll take care of this; help the others." Dominic looked at about six walkers to the left that were approaching very slowly and ran explosively. He lunged at the first walker, whose attention was on the others.

The dagger in his left hand moved forcefully, avoiding connecting with the skull as the target and stabbing it in the neck, where access was much easier.

Uff...

When Dominic removed the dagger, a lot of thick, black blood gushed out. The blood even splattered his uniform, but after a previous experience with Walker blood, he had no notable reaction other than closing his eyes and mouth.

Dominic didn't stop, eliminating the first walker. He was very aware of the fact of the fact that there were five other walkers nearby.

Arghhhh!!!

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Dominic shot the other walkers nearest to his head. But at the same time, he focused on the closest walker, and using all his strength, he ended up breaking its neck.

Crack!

With a crunchy sound, the walker's head was completely shattered, but again, these walkers were not in a state of decomposition, so they were as close as possible to a regular person.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

In the distance, the grenades thrown by the soldiers to eliminate large numbers of walkers didn't wait.

This level of force was necessary; many didn't want to spend so many rounds since their expedition had just begun, and they also didn't want to return as soon as they had left.

"My weapon jammed." A soldier shouted as he backed away from a walker that had come too close.

Dominic, who saw that this soldier was about to be bitten, ran towards him with all his might and let out a roar full of fury. "Arggggh!"

Pum!

With a sound of fracture, Dominic had hit that walker so well that it practically flew away.

The walker that fell to the ground pressed against others who were crawling on the ground without limbs to support themselves.

Dominic quickly got up from the ground and ran towards those walkers.

When the walker realized Dominic was getting closer, it extended its hands to grab him. But its efforts were futile because, as soon as it extended its hands, a shot hit its head.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

However, a hand held onto his leg, preventing him from moving away. But being here, Dominic showed no mercy; he knew he needed to eliminate all the walkers, and the anger filling his chest made him appear brutal in the eyes of the other soldiers.

"I've got it, Dominic; I'll take care of it." Said Cole, who immediately reloaded his rifle and shot at numerous walkers coming from the other end of the street.

The shots resonated loudly, stunning Dominic, who immediately covered one of his ears with his hand. The helmet on Dominic's head had shifted, so the sound of the shots wasn't reduced; this caused the noise to be so loud that it left him stunned for a few seconds.

"Darn it; be more careful." Dominic muttered as he stood up.

Sergeant Castro approached to see how his soldiers were doing and was glad that none of them had been injured. "Let's go; we have to check the other streets. All these shots must have alerted the other walkers; we must prevent them from reaching the areas where the barricades will be placed."

The corpses on the ground were very graphic to see; all that blood left many in silence, and all those smiles they had disappeared. If things are like this here, what must be happening in the places where their families are?

Dominic walked after reloading his rifle, looked at the bodies on the ground, but didn't say anything. There was nothing to mention; just keep moving forward.

"Don't forget, these people are already dead, so there's nothing we can do for them except release them from this suffering." Sergeant Castro cared a lot about the soldiers under his command.

The biggest weapon these undead had were the hordes; if there were many, it was a big problem, and for the soldiers, it was finding them in closed places where they didn't have many opportunities to reach the brain to eliminate them.

"Which way are we moving?" Dominic looked at Sergeant Castro to know his new orders.

"We're going to split into two groups; I'll lead the first line to the right, and you guys go to the left. We'll meet back here in twenty minutes." Sergeant Castro signaled, and everyone started moving.

A few moments ago, they had eliminated at least about one hundred fifty walkers—not a large number, but coming from all sides, it was a very intense battle.

As they walked, suddenly, some people appeared in front of them, begging for help.

"Please, help us; there are many of those crazies approaching." Shouted a woman who only wanted to be helped by the military.

Dominic was among the group that encountered these people, so he immediately raised his rifle and opened fire at the approaching walkers.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

"Check that they don't have bites; the others form a perimeter." Said Arsher, who had taken command of the group Dominic was in, and everyone obeyed without saying a word.
