Chapter 366: Clone

Sun Jack opened the map of Gaofeng Technology and slowly walked toward office number 13.

He breezed past layers of security personnel and, once again, laid eyes on number 13, who had only a head.

At the moment, it remained motionless on a table, and as Sun Jack activated the visual data detection, he was immediately surrounded by dense data rushing in and out around number 13, indicating, without the need to guess, that something was up.

Sun Jack simply sat down on the couch, revealed his true form, and knocked on the office desk. "Let's have a chat," he said.

As soon as he spoke, he was instantly surrounded by various combat units, warning alerts about the system being locked screamed, and a plethora of weapons, both large and small, emerged from nowhere, aiming viciously at him.

As the mechanical armor on Sun Jack began to activate its automatic energy protection, a thin layer of energy film appeared around him.

When number 13 recovered from the shock, he stared at Sun Jack in amazement, "How did you get in here!"

"You're joking—after all, I am the boss of this company. What's wrong with taking a tour of your office? And were you just now trying to find someone to deal with me?"

"I wouldn't do such a thing," number 13 retorted directly.

"Cut the crap, I know you don't accept me, no one in Gaofeng Technology does. You've thought about killing me countless times. If there was a chance to kill me, you'd definitely be the first to act," Sun Jack said, resting his feet on the desk as he continued, "But it's okay, in Metropolis, the average joe is worth 25, I get it. If you didn't think like that, I'd really be worried, not knowing what you're up to."

Number 13 looked at Sun Jack with an indifferent expression. Seeing that he had guessed the truth, number 13 did not hide it anymore. "First, I cannot permit Gaofeng Technology to step by step descend into the abyss under your command. Second, it is not that we are resisting you, but the capital of the company wants to resist you."

"Capital seeks profits, and anyone who stops it from making profits becomes an enemy of capital, including you with the highest shares! If you do not embrace capital, then capital will abandon you—this is irrespective of personal will."

After saying all this, number 13 immediately began to threaten Sun Jack. "If you don't agree to continue the development of DNA programming technology, all board members except you will unite with the management--"

But before he could finish, Sun Jack bluntly cut him off. "I agree."

With Sun Jack's agreement, number 13 found all the arguments he had prepared stuck in his throat, leaving him feeling like hitting cotton with a punch, terribly uncomfortable.

"What, you're not happy because I agreed too quickly? Does it bother you? Maybe I should take my words back, and you can start all over again?"

"Forget it, I am just curious why you suddenly changed your mind. However, I am glad you made a wise decision, which is a good choice for you, me, and the entire Gaofeng Technology," number 13 said.

As number 13 spoke, the Self-Destructing Spiders and other combat units circling Sun Jack slowly backed off.

"Then you're pleased too soon, I haven't finished. There is a condition to my agreement, and that is the tests must only be conducted on my Clone, not on any other test subjects," Sun Jack stated his terms.

Number 13's face showed a trace of perplexity. "Do you really think your Clone won't resist?"

"No, because I, myself, will be the first to undergo the experiment, otherwise it wouldn't be very fair to the other clones, would it?"

Upon hearing this, the usually reserved No. 13 couldn't help but be shocked by Sun Jack's ruthlessness.

"What, that's not acceptable? If that's still not okay, then I really have to wonder if you're specifically out to get me, rather than it being about any purported stock market crash."

"But why? Why would you do this? What's in it for you?"

No. 13 found it utterly incomprehensible. Who would be masochistic enough to seek out suffering? Could it be that this guy was a masochist? Yet, according to the information he had gathered, this guy was clearly a lover of beauty.

"You don't need to understand that. Moreover, I have another condition. My clones must be involved throughout the development of DNA programming technology, and I must be the first to know of any results."

Upon hearing this, No. 13's confusion deepened. "Why go through the extra trouble? The entire company is yours, what do you have to fear?"

"What, is that not okay? Can't I control my own company?" Sun Jack stood up, apparently not interested in explaining too much to the other party.

No. 13 looked at Sun Jack with a very complex expression. "I really can't figure you out. Why are you so smart sometimes, and then like a fool at other times?"

"In life, not everything requires shrewdness. That's settled then. I'll go to the Breeding Factory's production line to provide the memory and DNA," said Sun Jack, standing up and walking outside with Tapai.

"You're planning to use clones to infiltrate Gaofeng Technology?" Tapai seemed to have caught on to Sun Jack's intentions.

"Yeah, No. 13 and his people are pretty crafty. Just holding shares isn't enough to control them. I need to learn from this setback and find a way to prevent today's events from recurring. It's unbearable, even for a god, to be constantly targeted by one's own people."

Sun Jack explained his rationale to Tapai. "If Sharp Flash Technology can't compete with Gaofeng Technology in the short term, then we'll have to resort to this method for now. Plus, if we have our people inside Gaofeng Technology, we'll be able to know about any new tricks Guan Sanke pulls at the first opportunity."

"Sitting ducks is not my style. Seeing how No. 13 is, it seems unlikely that we'll get the Spacecraft Carrier from him. Since that's the case, we'll just have to take it ourselves."

The two of them talked as they walked outside, with Tapai controlling a Hover Shuttle that had already stopped outside.

"It's probably a good idea to send some clones to Sharp Flash Technology and Weike Medical as well. They're not very loyal to you either, just exploiting you."

Sun Jack opened the system and looked at the red dots representing the clone Sun Jacks, built under the Digital Personality framework.
