Chapter 12 : Night is still young, Part I

"What happened to you Vanessa ? Have you lost your mind ? Do you at least realize the consequences of your actions? Because of what you did a war could break out between Vampires and werewolves and between Vampires themselves and that could weaken our authority, our power and in addition you humiliated the family of Richard in front of all the vampire kingdom. For them, now our kingdom has weakened, some vampire rulers are already starting to challenge my authority. Your marriage to that werewolf or not having any relationship you have with him would only make things worse. So tell me Vanessa how will you fix this mess, uh ?", her father said angrily and with a raised tone.

At that moment, I didn't know how to respond to my father. He was right, there is nothing that I can do to fix up all this mess. Do I regret what I've done ? No ! Not at all ! If it had to be done again I think I would have done the same thing again. It's just that this is the first time in my long life that I felt free and at the same time attracted to something that I've never felt before.

" The kings and queens of the other vampire kingdoms keep asking me now if your marriage to Richard is going to take place or not ? " , Vanessa's father added, still with an angry voice.

You're probably wondering why my father is marrying me to Richard, just a Vampire from a noble family rather than a Vampire prince ?

Well the answer is simple, he doesn't want to entrust his kingdom to some Vampire prince whose manners he barely knows and who he thinks could lead the kingdom to ruin because he does not govern as he wants while 'with Richard, he has known him almost all his life, moreover Richard's father is his oldest friend, so he can meddle in the affairs of the kingdom whenever he wants, he wants to keep some control over the kingdom.

" There is no question of canceling the wedding, it will take place as planned, in two weeks. No, rather in a week, we have already made the other Vampire Sovereigns wait too long " , King George added after thinking for a while.

" What?! But it's much sooner than planned. We said at least a month after the blood moon. Father, please. Be reasonable! Let's delay this wedding a little longer " , Vanessa begged.

" No! My decision is made. You will marry Richard in a week, I will ask that it will be announced to the press tonight. Rest now, we have a wedding to prepare " , her father said, rather ordered and then left.

To be honest, I don't really want to marry Richard anymore, not because I finally got to know Eric, if maybe a little, but above all because last night I tasted freedom. I want to taste it again, I want to discover more, feel more. That's why I plan to go out again tonight.

Vanessa spent the day locked in her room and thinking of a plan that could help her delay the wedding but none came to mind and the night gradually began to fall and she was preparing to go out again. She wore a black dress with a small V neckline, long lace sleeves that she paired with black ankle boots.

She managed to sneak through her window out of the palace. Vanessa was more than amazed when she walked in the streets of the city, it was bright, noisy, she saw shops and restaurants open on every street corner and the streets were full of people. Vampirios is the biggest town in Criviel and like all other vampire towns, during the day the whole town is quiet, silent, a bit like a ghost town, no one went out into the streets but in the evening the town came alive.

Vanessa continued her way but stopped when she was in front of the nightclub where she went with Eric the other night. People were queuing in front of it, she sneaked out inside taking advantage of the fact that the nightclub security guard had caught other people trying to enter illegally.

" Hey ! Where do you think you are going like that ? " , the security guard shouted.

Once inside the club, she quickly mixed in with the crowd. Several multicolored lights were illuminating the room, the music was very loud and very catchy, the closer she got to the speakers, the more she could feel her bones vibrating.

Her body was moving at the rhythm of the music, she was free, careless, without worrying about what would happen next. The more the night progressed, the more she felt the temperature in the room increased, but she felt something else, a weird feeling as if someone was watching her. Of course, she decided to ignore it for a moment and continued to dance as she couldn't really dance the other night with Eric.

But the more she was dancing, the more she felt that someone was staring at her. Thus, she turned her gaze everywhere and her gaze landed on the V.I.P corner, a guy who looked a bit familiar to her with wheat blond hair he was carefully studying her every move, it was like he was undressing her with his eyes.

He was surrounded by several beautiful women and there were some other guys talking with him. He noticed that she was staring at him back so he raised his glass and smirked. Vanessa, on the other hand, gave him an angry look, he then got up and seemed to go in her direction. Panicked, Vanessa turned around quickly and headed to the bar where she thought he couldn't see her. She sighed in relief but suddenly she felt a cold hand on her waist.

" Good evening, princess ! " , Xavier whispered.

But before she could say something the security guard caught her and shouted : " you have nothing to do here miss, please follow me, I will escort you outside ".

" It's okay Bruce, she is with me " , Xavier told him, his hand still on Vanessa's waist and she was still frozen.

" Alright, Boss " , the security guard said and then left.

" I think you owe me more than a drink this time, Princess " , Xavier told her with a devilish smile.

" You ... You again " , Vanessa stammered.

" Yes, me again. I hope you hadn't already forgotten me, Princess. If not, I would be extremely sad " , Xavier said, teasing her.

" Duh ... How could I forget a jerk like you. Now let go of me " , Vanessa replied, annoyed.

" I will take that as a compliment " , Xavier smirked and winked at her which made Vanessa more pissed.

" If I let you go now, Bruce will show up here in no time and kick you out. You'll be banned from this club for life and that's not what you want, right ? " , Xavier told her. She didn't say anything and just gave him a pissed look.

" I will take that as a yes. Now follow me, I'm pretty sure that someone with your rank shouldn't be seen in a place like this and especially not with someone like me " , Xavier said and dragged her out of the dancefloor to go into some of these private rooms.

It was pretty well-decorated, with a brown leather couch around a marbled low table and there was a pool table a little more in the dark of the room,

" Much better ! Now let's talk and get to know each other, will you ? " , Xavier exclaimed while taking place on the couch.
