Chapter 8: The Trap.

Alex's POV

I tried concentrating on the book I was holding but I kept glancing at the door expecting to see Hannah walk in, I just wanted to see her face, looking at her pictures are no longer enough for me any more, sh*t I sound like I'm obsessed. She finally walked into the classroom while laughing as she spoke to Sophie, my goodness! Everything about her is beautiful, the way she laughs, talks and even eat is so captivating that I couldn't take my eyes off her.

"Easy with the stare man, you don't want to make it too obvious and scare her away" I heard Matt say as he gave me a tap on my shoulder to bring me back to earth and I smiled, I didn't know I was that obvious. "I will talk to her during lunch and get her socials or number at least" I told Matt and he encouraged me. While myself and Matt were still talking, Diana approached us and my mood was immediately spoiled "hi honey, hello Matt" she said with her very annoying smile "I have told you to stop calling me that" I told her and she immediately faked a tear "I am sorry Alex, I won't do it again, you didn't have to sound soo harsh. I just wanted to say hi and know if you liked the present I sent to you" Diana said, I sighed and looked at her seriously so that she understands clearly what I am about to say "I appreciate the kind gesture but would you please stop sending me these gifts, I don't like most of them plus I don't need them" I said to her. "Alex, you can tell me what you like so I can get them for you" she said with a smile, "don't you get it Diana? I am trying to tell you that I don't need or want them, if I want something from you I'll let you know okay?" I said, slowly loosing my calm "okay that's fine, let me know if you want anything from me, plus you have not repiled my texts" Diana said, "I haven't had time to look at my phone, I'll reply you when I have the time" I said, glad that she has agreed to stopped the gifts. "emmm can we please have lunch together today?" she said playing with her finger, "I have plans today, maybe another time" I told her and she left after many failed attempts on trying to convince me. Immediately she left, Matt and I looked at each other, wondering what kind of girl she is and laughed.

The bell rang and it was time for lunch, I looked towards Anna and noticed Sophie reapplying lip gloss on Anna's lips, I stalled Matt a bit so we would walk to the cafeteria together with Anna and Sophie luckily my plan worked.

"So, have you being enjoying your time here? " I asked Anna while we were eating, she looked at me quite surprised "I am yet to go around the city but from the few places I have seen, I think I will love it here, but the too much attention I receive at school makes things a little bit difficult" she said looking at me, I love how she looks at me when she speaks to me "myself and Matt are going to the city mall this Saturday, Sophie is coming with, you can come with us, that way we can show you a few places, that's if you want and about the attention you get at school, it's quite normal considering that you are very beautiful" I said with a smile and the blush on her face didn't escape my sight and that made a little bit confident that I might have a chance with her.

"I might need some tips from you on what to do, you seem to be in the heart of almost all the girls here and the school hunk" Anna said with a playful smile on her lips and I laughed "don't you think that's a bit extra, maybe a few girls not all the girls and sadly I don't have any tips for you, I would even take tips from you if you offered any " I said and she laughed "a few? I don't think that's accurate for someone who has a fan club, I would say 70% of the girls in this school have a thing for you the remaining 30% are either into Matt, in a relationship or they are into girls, though most of the girls in a relationship will break up in a wimp if you shows little interest in them." she said laughing "ohh really?" I asked her and she said yes "so where do you stand?" I asked her again, I was sure she didn't expect that question and she smiled " well I just got here, I am not sure where I'm yet so let's not group me yet."she said and we both laughed.

Author's POV

Alex and Anna talked about so many things and got lost in the conversation, Sophie who had been discussing with Matthew noticed the interaction between them and was really shocked, Alex was having a conversation with a girl and was actually laughing she looked at Matt and he wasn't so surprised, "something is definitely up and Matt knows about it" she thought and looked at Matt seeking for answers. Sophie immediately texted Matt because she didn't want Alex and Anna to hear her "does Alex like Anna?" Matt read the message and smiled "he seems to be in love" he texted back, immediately Sophie got the message she placed her hands on her mouth so she wouldn't scream, she was so shocked, "are you serious babe? are you really sure" she asked "yes he wants to get to know her and get her to like him back" Matt texted back. "awwwn I am so happy Alex finally likes someone, they both look good together, I will ask Anna if she likes him too, I hope they get together, I can't believe Alex hid this from me, he will get it from me" Sophie repiled, "don't tell her yet though" Matt told her and laughed.

25 minutes later they were back to class, Alex was really excited and couldn't wait for the close of school so that he would ask Anna for her socials or number, he took out a book and began to read but his mind kept thinking about Anna. Hannah on the other hand enjoyed her conversation with Alex, she felt he wasn't as boring as she thought and began to understand why he has soo many admires, he was really smart, very handsome, well built, tall, he smells really nice, he is very funny and those black eyes that can make you get lost in them, how can someone be soo perfect she thought.

After series of lectures it was finally 2:00pm and the school bell rang, Matt and Alex walked towards Sophie and Anna who were busy taking pictures, "don't you both ever get tired of pictures?" Matt asked as he leaves a quick kiss on Sophie's lips, "I don't think we get tired" Sophie repiled "don't worry you don't need to wait for us, we are already done" Hannah said as she picked up her bag "thank goodness" Matt said and they all laughed as they walked out of the classroom.

"So when are you coming over? Aunty(Alex's mom) was asking about you the other day" Matt asked Sophie as they walked out of the school gate holding hands. "ooh I miss aunt, I will come over on Saturday before our outing to say hi to her, just tell her to make her special meatpie" Sophie said with a big smile. "I feel like aunt's meatpie is more important than I am" Matt said and Sophie laughed and gave him a brief hug "you know that not true, I love you more than I love auntie's meatpie" she said looking at him in the eyes and they both laughed.

Meanwhile, Alex stood by the gate watching Anna take a phone call, they were having a conversation before she excused herself to take a call from her mother. In less than 2 minutes Anna was done with her call, "sorry, that was my mom" she said, "no it's fine, you didn't give a reply to my offer to hang out with us on Saturday" Alex said looking at her and she laughed "how could I turn down your offer? Moreover, Sophie would have forcefully brought me along" Anna replied and Alex smiled "okay then, can I get your number or any of your social that so I can reach out to you? " Alex asked with a slight smile "sure, give me your cell phone" Anna told him and he gave her his phone, Anna took it and inputed her number and dialed it "that way I would have your too, I share a group chat with you on Instagram, I will be expecting your text" Anna said with a smile "I will text you definitely" Alex said. "alright, my ride is here, bye" Hannah said and Alex repiled as they walked towards the taxi where Sophie and Matt were waiting for them. "talk to you later babe, Matt said as he hugged Sophie" alright hunny" Sophie repiled and left a peck on his cheek. "Byee Anna" Matt said as he waved her "bye Matt" Anna repiled with a smile, "no goodbyes for you today Alex, I am upset with you, text me when you get home" Sophie said and got inside the car after Anna and they all laughed, "okay Miss Sophie" Alex said, with a smile and shut the door to the taxi. "Someone seems to be in a good mood Matt said as they walked towards and car and Alex laughed" well Anna gave me her number and asked me to text her"he said and Matt gave him a handshake "it means you have a chance bro" Matt told him and they both laughed.

A few minutes later, a black 2022 BMW pulled up in front of the Black's mansion, Alex and Matt came down from the car and walked into the house, immediately they got into the house they were faced with a man sitted on the single king sized sofa with his legs crossed and had a news paper in his hands, he looked like he was in his late fourties"welcome boys" Alex and Matt heard him say and their mood instantly turned sore "welcome back father, how was your trip?" Alex said "welcome back sir, hope your trip went well?" Matt also said. "thank you boys, my trip went well" Mr Black said and the boys went to their rooms.

It had skipped Alex's mind that his Father was coming back from his trip today, he was too excited about the thought of calling Anna that he didn't notice his Father's car and bodyguards outside earlier, having his father around wasn't the problem but his uncle was the problem, Alex's uncle works closely with his brother Mr Black, he makes business trips with him and has recently being made the assistant Vice president of the company, he moved into the county 3 years ago leaving his family in the UK, he decided to stay in their house and ever since then, there had being a lot of major arguments between Alex and Mr Black that has strained the father and son relationship and Alex was sure that his uncle was the instigator but he couldn't prove it yet.

Alexander's POV

I can't believe I completely forgot that Father will be back today, my mood is completely ruined I thought and decided to have a long relaxing bath in order to clear my head. After the bath, I placed a call to the butler and asked for a pack of biscuits and orange juice to be brought to my room, I wanted to avoid going downstairs as much as possible.

A few minutes later, the biscuits and orange juice arrived, I placed them on the stool close to my bed side and sat on the bed, resting my back on the headboard. I picked up my phone and decided to text Anna, after opening her profile, I click on the follow button and sent her a message "hi Anna" I texted and she repiled almost immediately,

Anna: Alex?

Alex: yes it is.

Alex: Are you home already?

Anna: hi, Yes I am home , how bout you?

Alex:I got home a few minutes ago. I thought of giving you a call but I didn't want you to feel uncomfortable so I decided to text you first.

Anna: You seem like a perfect gentleman, I hope it's not all a facade.😂

Alex: wow, it seems like you have some false opinions about me without even really knowing me and I am quite hurt.

Anna: Apologies Mr Alexander, why don't you let me in on who you really are so I don't have the wrong opinion about you.

Alex: Great, I really wanted to get to know you, I am pretty lucky that you want to know about me, but you know you can't know all about me in one day.

Anna: That's quite true, so what are you suggesting?🤨

Alex: Let's take it slow, we will get to know each other better as time goes on so we must have regular conversation, agreed?

Anna: This feels like a trap to get me to talk to you regularly😏 but I'll turn a blind eye to it because I enjoy your company. 😅

Alex: I guess I have being caught, thanks for turning a blind eye to it.

Anna : You are welcome Alex, I have a few things to do, can we talk later?

Alex: sure, we will talk later then.

Whenever I have a conversation with Hannah, my mood lightens us, I scroll through her profile and liked a few of her pictures as I laid on the bed and eventually slept off.

Hannah's POV

When Alex asked for my number, I didn't think he was going to really reach out to me and when I saw his message, I was really surprised and excited, I guess we are friends now, "I can't wait to tell Sophie all about it, I said to myself" and got ready to go to Sophie's place, her mom had invited me over for a late lunch .

"Good afternoon auntie" I said to Sophie's mum as she opened the door for me, "ohh come in sweetie, you must be Hannah" she said and gave me a hug, she looks like she is in her late thirties, now I see where Sophie gets her love for fashion , "Sophie hasn't given me a moment of peace, she is always talking about you these past few days even more than she talks about Matthew and I was really curious to meet you. Since I wasn't working today, I decided to invite you over" she said as she led me to the sitting room to sit down and we both laughed " I am really happy to finally meet you too auntie, Sophie has told me so much about you" I told her "I hope she had only nice things to say about me, she will be down in a minute. Make yourself feel at home, let me go get you something to drink" she said as she stood up, "thank youu" I said with a smile, she returned the smile and headed towards the kitchen.

Sophie's mum is soo accommodating, apart from the blonde hair, I think Sophie also got her mom's sweetness, "sorry love, I didn't know you were here already" I heard Sophie say, about a minute after her mom left, as she came downstairs and gave me a hug. "mom! Why didn't you let me know that Anna was here already" Sophie said as she sat beside me, her mom immediately walked in with a bottle of water and a glass and placed it on a stool close to me, "she wasn't bored with my company moreover I invited her over, so shuuu" her mom said and myself and Sophie bursted out into laughter.

I drank a glass of water and said thank you for the water and Sophie's mom smiled " let me go check on the chicken, so we can eat" she said and stood up, "finally, I really don't know why I am so hungry. Come let's go and set up the dinning table" Sophie said and led the way to the dining room, I noticed that our homes were identical, the only difference are the difference furniture, I guess all the houses in the estate were built alike.

Sophie's mom had prepared chicken wings and sauce, we said a short prayer and dung into the meal. There was a lot to talk and laugh about during the meal, I discovered that just like myself, Sophie was also raised by just her mom. She told Sophie and I a lot of her funny dating experiences she even mentioned having a date this evening and threw in some tips on dating.

After the meal, I thanked miss Eva(Sophie's Mom) for the wonderful meal, while she went to get ready for her date, Sophie and I cleared the table and did the dishes. "Guess who texted me today?" I asked Sophie as we walked upstairs towards her room.
