After hearing it directly from Lady Delilah, I hurried back to the inn we were staying. I entered our room and saw mother sitting next to the window brushing her hair while the moonlight shone upon her.
Mother looked at the sky with sorrow, but immediately discarded it after she heard me enter the room. I approached her, asking what was wrong and she just shook her head, so I hugged my mother. It's tough raising a child on your own.
The next day, I wanted to bring mother to the church. She decided against it, but changed her mind when I mentioned Lady Delilah. Entering the church, we kneeled in front of the altar.
I'm now back at the world of nothingness, but this time mother's with me. Lady Delilah is sitting on her rocking chair, staring at mother. She waved to mother, telling her to come close. They had a long conversation, but I couldn't hear it yet I'm sure they're having fun judging from their expression.
They finally finished their chat and waved at me, telling me to come closer.
『Now that I look closely at him, he really does looks like you. Only difference is his eyes and hair. He got that from his father, right?』
『Indeed, mother. He got those pair of beautiful azure eyes and his wavy blue hair from his father.』
I felt left out from their conversation, so I asked the one thing I was curious about since I was a baby, my father.
『Hm... Your father is a strong and righteous man, Lake, that's why I fell in love with him. He was the Crown Prince of the neighboring kingdom, Frostwind Kingdom. That was eleven years ago. He may be the King now and has a family on his own. The reason I left him was because the people of the kingdom did not like someone of unknown origins like me to become their Queen.』
I see. So that's why mother was living in a place as far away from civilization like that village. I still cant believe it though. My mother is a Goddess, while my father is the neighboring kingdom's ruler. I needed some fresh air so I excused myself from them.
I left the church and called Gray. We flew high up to the sky. I need to organize my thoughts. I feel so confused right now.
Gray asked me what's wrong and I told him about my circumstance. We shot through the clouds while talking with Gray giving me advices. 『Why don't you run away and see for yourself what this father of yours is?』
That's a brilliant idea. I grabbed a paper from my inventory and it got blown away. We laughed at that and descended down to a nearby hill.
There, I wrote a letter for my mother. I told her that I'll be gone for a month and told her not to worry. I sent Nightmare to deliver it for me because he could just return to me anytime anywhere.
We then stopped by a nearby village and bought some rations from the money I got for selling at the guild and began our journey.
I opened my 『World Map』 and compared it to a map I bought from the village. It merged together as one with the skill and it showed kingdoms, the outlines of their border and their respective names.
We headed north west from Restnaro to Frostwind Kingdom. It would take us a whole month if we're riding a carriage, but like I said before, Gray is ten times faster than that. It'll take about three days to reach there nonstop, but that's just torture. We'll stop every half a day, rest, and repeat.
As we were dashing through the clouds, we saw a horde of Trolls in the forest nearby a small village. We decided to stop and exterminate the trolls. I summoned Nightmare from my shadows and asked if he could scout how many trolls there were.
I always wondered what Nightmare is, but I never got a chance to ask. Maybe I'll do that after this.
Nightmare returned and reported that he saw about thirty Trolls. Six of them appeared to be well equipped, with maces and armor made of steel. The rest are just wearing a loincloth and a club made of hardwood.
We decided to each take two of the armored guys and eight of the normal ones. I positioned myself above a tree to prevent me being surrounded by them.
I started attacking first, sending a bolt of lightning to the two armored trolls, frying one of them to a crisp. All of them looked at my direction and that's when Gray and Nightmare striked. Gray swooped down and decapitated three normal trolls, killing them. While Nightmare appeared behind the two armored ones and bit them at the neck where the armor's the weakest.
I casted another spell, this time it's ice. I froze the ground, making the trolls running towards me slip and hit each other. I summoned an earth spike from the ground, impaling all six unarmored trolls but not killing them. The armored one was approaching closer and closer to me, so I transformed to a swallow and flew to another tree.
The armored troll arrived at the tree I was just on and was confused to not see me there. I took advantage of that by conjuring a ball of flame together with a bolt of lightning, fusing it together, and shot it to the troll. It let out a loud and painful shriek until it stopped and dropped to the ground.
I looked at the impaled trolls crying in pain. I pitied them so I swiftly ended their sad lives. I looked at my two pals and saw that their fight has just ended.
They approached me with loots in their hands and put them in my inventory. I looked at the orcs I killed and regretted. Their armors are unusable now. One's fried black and the other has melted. I learnt a lesson that day and continued on our journey.
