Chapter 12 - The Arrival at the Western Academy of Magic

We flew towards the nearest town my skill showed and arrived at a small town called Rave. We landed and the townspeople were frightened by our sudden appearance. I apologized and asked them where the church was and they pointed eastward.

Moving east, we walked fast. Gray beside me carrying Sebastian on his back. We arrived at the church and requested permission from the priest to use the altar. They agree.

I laid the now unconscious Sebastian in front of the altar and called for Lady Delilah's help.

『I'm sorry, Lake. I am not proficient at healing, but I could call for Flauriel if you could wait.』

I eagerly nodded and waited. A couple of minutes later and a beautiful woman ascended from the ground. She had a blonde hair tied to a ponytail, a bright white stola enshrouds her body with a glowing halo floating on top of her head.

We returned back to reality, but the woman was still there, floating on top of Sebastian. Lady Delilah was also here and introduced the alluring woman.

She was the Goddess of Light and Healing, Flauriel. She is also known as the kindest of the gods.

The priests, who were praying behind me, were greeted by Lady Flauriel. They kneeled and left the church in a hurry, not wanting to interrupt the healing process.

『So they have started their assault on you. Those 「Fallen」 are an impatient bunch. They have already broken the "No Intervention Pact" we agreed on.』 The blonde goddes said with a grimacing look to her face. It seems like she don't like the 「Fallen」.

The healing was almost done. Lady Flauriel conjured a ball of water, the purest I've ever seen, and fed it to Sebastian slowly. After a couple of minutes later, Sebastian's painful expression was replaced with comfort.

He woke up to see me, standing in front of him. The goddesses already went back to their realm. I thanked them to the bottom of my heart.

『That man I healed. I gave him my blessing. He'll recover his youthful appearance soon and his frail bones and muscles will now also return to their prime condition.』

I was surprised to hear that. A blessing isn't just given willy nilly. Lady Flauriel was probably grateful of Sebastian's past actions.

Sebastian got up and I went and hugged him. He patted my head and I smiled. I told him about what happened and couldn't forget about his reaction. He had his mouth open and a random fly flew in.

We got out of the church and saw the priests that was inside. They approached me and bowed. I got confused and asked why.

『I have experienced a miracle! You're [The Fated One], right?! I'll promise to keep this a secret, so please... We need your help.』

I accepted their request. I let Sebastian stay at the town while I went into the bandit camp the priest told me about. These bandits kidnapped the town's women and children, selling them as slaves. That was the reason why I accepted the request.

I arrived at a cliffside and saw a cave. Outside the cave were a lot of people. Beastkins and Humans were dressed up like a bandit and some people were locked up in a cage, trembling.

I dared not underestimate them so I sent Nightmare to count their numbers. He found fifty of them inside and twenty outside. A lot more than I expected, but not more than I could handle.

I created a mist by combining water and wind magic to lower their vision. The bandits were startled at first, but they probably thought that it was a natural occurrence and continued whay they were doing.

Next, I tasked Nightmare to take care of the ones that are alone. I prepared a spell that would liquify the ground, a combination of earth and water magic. I then casted an illusion on myself, making me blend in with the mist I created. I flew towards the large cage with people on them and partly dispelled my illusion.

I asked the people inside the cage to be quiet and asked them if there were others inside. They shook their head.

I casted an illusion on the cage so that it would appear that it isn't gone and gently lifted up the cage. The bandits probably noticed something was wrong and was now on guard.

I went to the town and landed with the cage and opened it. I told them that I'll be back and deal with the bandits.

It was a lot easier than I thought. We were done in just an hour clearing the cave. Some of them tried to escape, but they were stopped by Nightmare. I tied all the bandits up and sent it to the town. The mayor was deeply grateful and gave me three scrolls as a reward. It was a [Scroll of Town Teleportation]which does what its name suggests and teleport the user to a visited town. Scrolls can only be used once, though, what a pity.

We once again finally arrived at our destination, Restnaro. During the trip, Sebastian was like an entirely different person. His white groomed hair is now a deep brown and his wrinkled skin is now as smooth as limestone. He was even more shocked. He said that it felt like his body was returning to its prime condition, but better. He now looks more like an older brother to me than a kind grandpa.

We entered the Western Academy of Magic and I enrolled myself. They asked if Sebastian was also here to enroll, but he shook his head and said that he was just a servant.

As a servant, Sebastian will be living on the servant's quarters. I also will be living on the upper student quarters, a noble and above only living space.

I entered the room number the key matched and was greeted by a luxurious view. It had a kingsize bed and a balcony with an amazing view. The cabinets and other furnitures were also made of high quality materials.

I was laying down the bed with a carefree look when someone knocked on the door of my room.
