Chapter 4

Chapter 4 - Cú Chulainn

A few days have past after his encounter with young Bell and you could see the same person hunting some wild beast with a red barbed spear, but his appearance has completely changed, what you could see now is a blue-haired, red-eyed man whose primary outfit is a deep ultramarine full body tights, except his upper-half is bare leaving only the right shoulder down to his forearm and his left forearm covered showing a red tattoo underneath his upper right side, covered in what seems to be runes of protection. He wears his hair in a rattail that reaches his mid-back. He also wears a pair of silver earrings and a silver necklace of a wolf biting a cresent moon. He gives off the impression of a beast, even carrying a bestial smell that attracts other beasts.

He swiped his red barbed spear to the left striking the chest of another boar beast killing it instantly. He jumped back to avoid a pounce from a bear beast and just as his feet made contact with the ground, he dashed and thrust towards the bear beast's chest, killing it instantly as well.

He pulled back his spear and swiped it hard downwards to rid it of residue blood and spun it a few times before resting it on his side. The name of the spear is Gáe Bolg and the person wielding it is named Cú Chulainn, at least his appearance is that of Cú Chulainn but a few days ago, he was Gilgamesh and before that he is Arthur Pendragon.

——Flashback——

This happened a short while after he rested back at the tree, which is now named Fred, and he was searching at his Treasury and he came across several spears with ominous auras including Gáe Bolg. When he saw Gáe Bolg, he took it out via Gate of Babylon and while he was wielding it he thought of a certain blue-haired lancer from Fate and after that, the spear glowed, that made him close his eyes, and released a massive amount of ominous aura. It took a few moments before the light died down and he still has his eyes closed and slowly opened them only to see a new pair of hands holding the spear.

He stood up abruptly and checked his body, he first started inspecting his face and his facial structure had changed completely. Next he moved on to his body and he noticed that his upper-half is now covered with a tight tunic all the way to this lower-half. While touching here and there he also take note that his hair has changed color, texture, and length, his hair changed from short golden hair to a long, blue hair tied in a rattail that reaches his mid-back.

Even though he has been there only a moment ago, he rushed to the lake and saw his reflection. Right now he looks like Stage 1 Cú Chulainn from Fate/Grand Order except his appearance appear much more handsome.

Following that is a series of testing just like what he did when he transformed into Arthur and Gilgamesh.

——Flashback End——

Cú used the cloth covering his left forearm to wipe the small bit of sweat on his forehead before finding a relatively high terrain to rest at.

He jumped up the cliff using the protruding stones as leverage. He reached the top of the cliff and sat on it with Gáe Bolg beside him. He looks at the horizon as the gentle wind hit him blowing his hair backwards.

Fortunately the weather today is cloudy so the scene is very relaxing, perfect for resting just like what Cú had intended when he looked for this place.

He breathed in a bit of fresh air and sighed it out a moment later. He looked at his left and saw a tall tower that reaches the clouds above and a part of the city which the tower resides in.

He confirmed his assumption a few days ago about which world this is, and his guess was right.

Right now he is in the world of Danmachi where gods live among mortals. Although he didn't go near the city, his eyesight as Cú is enough for him to see it like looking at a telescope.

He doesn't know when he is at first but remembering the young version of Bell he concluded that he is pretty early than canon.

He lied down on the grassy ground of the cliff and looked at the sky, seemingly contemplating about something. Just like this, time passed until the sky started to darken but it is not night yet. He only woke up from his contemplation when a drop of water hit his cheeks and after a few more drops it started to rain.

He got up and grabbed Gáe Bolg before jumping down the cliff, the rain has drenched his already tight clothes and is now clinging to his body making him feel uncomfortable because he hasn't got used to it even after a few days.

His foot landed on the ground but surprisingly enough, no cracks appeared despite his velocity of descent. This is Cú's body's instinct as a result of training with the Queen of the Land of the Shadows and her torturous training.

Anyway, we digress. After landing on the ground, he ran towards Fred, the Tree, to take shelter in the meantime. Arriving at the tree, he leaned himself and Gáe Bolg on it, his hair is now drooping on his head and he took off the cloth on his shoulder and forearms to hang them on one of the branches of Fred, fortunately Fred is quite a big tree and has many leaves making for a suitable roof.

He took out a towel from Gilgamesh's Gate of Babylon and wiped himself as he wait for the rain to end, even though he knows that his, or Cú's, body wouldn't get sick so easily, he still doesn't want to take the risk so he is waiting for the rain to end before taking a proper bath at the lake. He could've just taken a bath in the rain but he doesn't feel like it for some reason so he just closed his eyes and leaned on Fred wanting to take a nap.

The rain didn't calm down even after 2 hours, in fact it only started to pick up and continuously got stronger until lightning and thunder appeared, even Fred's leaves could no longer hold them and Cú got wet again waking him up from his nap.

It only died down 5 hours after it started and Cú, after being woken up, had to endure the boring rain with some lightning and thunder for 3 hours straight.

He waited for a few minutes before standing up and walking to the lake with Gáe Bolg on his right hand, his pace neither quick nor slow. He looked at the surroundings and saw a bunch of other trees razed down the ground but some still managed to survived and stay standing.

He started to get worried seeing the state of the trees because there are a lot of trees near the lake and that was his favorite(only) lake.

So he sped up his pace and reached the lake withing a few minutes, and thankfully, no trees or any sign of debris can be found near or inside the lake itself.

Seeing as everything seems okay, he took off his clothes and put it inside the Treasury before jumping inside the lake.
