So I was own by my husband until the end of my life. The last few words of the oath that men swore when they were inducted into the Black Clans could just as well have been the closing of my wedding vow. Chapter 5

Qina huffed.

"God, girls are throwing themselves at him. I suppose he's good looking man."

"They can have him," I said bitterly.

In our world a handsome exterior often hide the devil within. The society all lady and girls saw his good looks and wealth.

As they thought the bad boy aura was a game. They fawned over his predatory charisma because of the power. But what they didn't know was that a blood and death lurked behind his arrogant smile.

I stood abruptly.

"I need to talk to Martial Zhen."

Martial Zhen was almost fifty and my father's loyal soldier. He was also Qina and my bodyguard. He knew everything about everyone powerful. Mother called him the legend . But if anyone knew more about him, must be Martial Zhen.

"Miss Lady. He had became a snapper at 7 year old," Martial Zhen said as he sharpening his knife on a grinder as he did every day.

The smell of chicken and onion fried together filled the kitchen, but it didn't give me a sense of comfort as it usually did.

"At 7?" I asked, trying to keep my voice even.

Most people didn't become fully initiated members of the army until they were sixteen.

"Is it because of his father?"

He grinned, revealing a gold incisor, and paused in his movements.

"You think he got it easy because he's the master son? He killed his first right hand man at 7 years old, that's why it was decided to initiate him early."

Gianna gasped.

"He's a real devil then."

Martial Zhen shrugged.

"He's what he needs to be. Ruling over B country , you can't be a prick."

He gave an apologetic smile.

"Lack of confidence."

"What happened?"

I wasn't sure I really wanted to know.

If Fu Shuo had killed his first man at 7, then how many more had he killed in the 10 year old since?

Martial Zhen shook his head, and scratched the long scar that ran from his temple down to his chin.

He was mid aged bulky man, and didn't look like much-loved, but Mother told me few were faster with a knife than him.

And I'd never seen him fight before.

"No answer, Young miss. I'm not that familiar with B country yet."

I watched our chef as she prepared dinner, trying to focus on something that wasn't my churning stomach and my overwhelming fear.

Then Martial Zhen scanned my face.

"He's a good man. He'll be the most powerful man on the East to the coast soon enough. Young miss, he'll be protect you."

"And who will protect me from him?" I hissed.

He didn't say anything because the answer was clear so no one could protect me from Fu Shao after our wedding.

Not himself, and not my father if he felt so inclined.

All lady after marriage, her life belonged to their husband. They were like his property to deal with however he pleased.

Bear by a huge responsibility in family.
