Fate Of The Missus

What was meant as a sign of love and devotion for other couples was nothing but a testament of his ownership on me. A daily reminder for the rest of my life. Until death do us part wasn’t an empty promise as with so many other couples that entered the holy bond of marriage. There was no way out of this union for me. So I was own by my husband until the end of my life. The last few words of the oath that men swore when they were inducted into the Black Clans could just as well have been the closing of my wedding vow. This wedding wasn’t about love or trust or choice. It was about duty and honour, about doing what was expected. A bond to ensure peace in Black territory and White Clans stop more bloodshed in between two big clans on this earth, B Clans and the last W Clans feud that clashes more than 2000 years.

Chapter 22

He was mocking me, the bastard.

"I do know what happens between normal couples. In our case, I think the word you're looking for is unwilling."

His eyes flashed with emotion.

"I want you to start taking the medication."

Fu Shao handed me a small packet and it was birth control.

"Don't I need to see a doctor before I start taking birth control?"

"We have a doctor who's been working for the Fu household for decades. This is from him. You need to start taking the pill immediately. It takes 2 days hours for them to start working."

I couldn't believe him. He seemed really eager to sleep with me. My stomach tightened.

"And what if I don't?"

He shrugged.

"Then I'll use a condom. Either way, on our wedding night, you are mine." He opened the door and gestured for me to move.

As if in trance, I walked into the living area of the suite. I hadn't meant to make him angry, but now it was too late.

It probably wasn't the last time anyway.

Martial Zhen stood beside Qina and Qinli, looking annoyed. He frowned at Fu Shao.

"What are you doing here?"

"You should pay better attention in the future and keep your breaks to a minimum," Fu Shao told him.

"I was gone for only a few minutes and there were guards in front of the other doors."

Qina smirked. And Fu Heng eyes were locked on her.

"What are you looking at?" she snapped.

Fu Heng leaned forward.

"At your hot body."

"Then keep looking." She gave an one shoulder shrug.

"Because that's all you ever get to do with my hot body."

"Stop it, 2nd Young miss," Martial Zhen warned.

But I wasn't looking at him, but at Fu Heng who had a calculating expression on his face.

"Xu will take over the watch duty until the wedding,"Fu Shao said.

Martial Zhen opened his mouth, but Fu Shao raised a hand.

"It's done." He turned to Xu who straightened at once.

They walked a few steps away from us.

Qina pressed up to me.

"What does he mean?"

"He is my new bodyguard."

"He just wants to control you."

"Shh." I was watching Fu Shao and Xu.

After a moment, Xu glanced at Qinli, then nodded and said something. They finally returned to us.

"He will stay with you," Fu Shao said simply.

He was so cold since I'd as good as called him a devil.

"And what am I supposed to do?" Martial Zhen asked.

"You can guard their door."

"Or you can join our night party," Fu Heng suggested.

"I'm not interested," Martial Zhen said.

Fu Shao shrugged.

"Suit yourself. Your Master Su is coming with us."

My father would go with them? I didn't even want to know what they were up to.

Fu Shao turned to me.

"Remember what I told you."

I didn't say anything, only clutched the medication packet in my hand.

Without another word, they left.

As Xu held the door open.

"You can leave too," he told Martial Zhen who glared but walked out after a moment.

Xu shut the door and locked it.

Qina gaped.

"You can't be serious."

Xu leaned against the door, arms clasped in front of him and he didn't react.

"Come, Qina." I pulled her with me toward the couch and plopped down.
