Chapter 2-Understanding The System, First Servant.
After a good nights sleep Arthur woke up feeling refreshed, he looked at the entrance of the cave admiring the dazzling water flowing down. Standing up from the bed he looked around smiling at everything he acquired in his first day in the DxD world.
After completely waking up and doing a light stretch, Arthur decided to getter better understanding of the system, so he walked over to the table and chair and grabbed some smoked meat. First he opened the panel and decided to open the Main Quest Tab.

After looking at what each section represents and what current quests are available, Arthur became surprise as yes it would take a lot of hard work but the rewards are immense. Especially the first main quest as he could in theory do that right now, all he has to do is mark where he is as his territory.
Standing in the cave, he nodded to himself, it was perfect, so without further ado, he opened the tan and selected his current position as his territory. *DING* Arthur heard a noise and looked at the system panel, the first mission was complete. The rewards went to the correct tabs and each tab had a one next to them, he was happy, he could start thinking about the other system functions now that he could use a ticket to see what it does.

Now having a better understand of the summon function he became serious, he needed a servant first and foremost however he could only summon one from the history/legends of England. With his current ongoing he needed more help with building his kingdom and training, so he thought hard about who to summon till he knew the perfect servant.
Knowing now who to summon, Arthur clicked the summon tab, went to servants and prepared to summon the servant. He walked out the cave, into the forest and began carving a mana circle, after that he stood in the middle and pressed the servant tab one more.

After pressing yes, Arthur stood still looking forward, in front of him a portal opened up, endless mist poured out and a black Figure slowly walked through. The figure got closer and closer until it was right in front of him, he was gob smacked, he was sure he summoned the correct servant so what was going on.
"Are you my new master?," asked the servant, "yes that would be me, but first could you introduce yourself?," "of course, my name is merlin". This made Arthur even more confused as he was sure that the merlin in Fate was male. Then it clicked this was probably due to the gods, he was glad, as the merlin in front of give was beautiful without a doubt.
"It's a pleasure to meet you Merlin, my name is Arthur Sanctus Pendragon, before you ask any questions, there's a explanation needed for you to understand what is going on exactly".
So began the explanation of how this isn't the world Merlin is from, how she is in a real physical body, and the King Arthur she knew isn't the same as the one in the world, that therefore brought the story of what happened to the Pendragon's and how Arthur is the last true descendant.
After waiting a few minutes for Merlin to process everything, this reminded him of how he was in front on the god. Making himself chuckle, Arthur didn't realise that Merlin was looking directly at him, composing himself, he waited for Merlin to speak. "I understand, I'm sorry to hear what happened to the Pendragon Family, though it seems sorry is not needed seeing as how you seem rather capable at such a young age," "thank you for the compliment, now then, I'll ask you only once, I understand this is different for you but I'd like you by my side, I won't treat you as some servant but as a real companion. I need you for my ambitions to come true as well as to rise to the legacy that has fell upon me".
Merlin stared in what seemed to be awe 'how can such a young child be so mature for his age, even if he is a Pendragon. He clearly looks to the future, perhaps this one's dream can actually come true'. "Arthur Sanctus Pendragon, I swear loyalty to you and your ambitions, I offer my everything to help you accomplish that", Arthur smiled, he was happy he would finally have someone by his side.
"Stand Merlin, your my first friend, my first companion and the first person to become part of my kingdom, I'll be in your hands for now on, and none of that master stuff, please call me Arthur," "as will I Mast- Arthur, I look forward to seeing your dreams come true".
"Now with introductions out of the way, there's a few things we need to do," "what have you got in mind Arthur, I can sense that this area seems somewhat connected to you?." "Yes that would be correct Merlin, I've claimed this area as my territory but that's one of many current problems, it's in the open so anyone can here," "that's a rather easy fix, allow me, I can making your area separate from this dimension effectively making its only little world whilst also connected to this one".
"That would be great Merlin, while you do that how about I make up some food", and with that Arthur ran to the cave ready to cook a meal for the two, if he had looked back he would have noticed smile on Merlins face. "His heart and soul are so pure, he really is befitting of the Pendragon name".
Thirty minutes later Arthur walks out with two bowls and two mugs, he trots over to Merlin who is sitting on a log. "Here Merlin some rabbit stew," passing the bowl and mug over to her, the pair start eating and chatting about meaningless stuff.
After the meal, Arthur gets serious and looks at Merlin, "Merlin, can you reconstruct stone into any shape?," "yes I believe so, I can't turn it into another mineral but I can reconstruct it, perhaps adding an enchantment or two and some colour". "Then could you follow me, as I need you to do that i the cave over there, as that will be the Thorne room," with that the pair walked to the entrance of the cave.
Looking inside Merlin was pleasantly surprised at what this small child could do on his own. After coming out of the daze after feeling a small tug at her clothes she looks down to see Arthur looking at her with the biggest puppy dog eyes possible. This caused Merlin heart to stop for a second 'how could a child be so cute' so moved her hands to his face and pinched his cheeks much to his annoyance. "Why don't you go outside and keep yourself busy while I make this cave a Thorne room worthy of a king!"
Arthur quickly nodded his head and tan outside, laughing at his actions Merlin begin to work her magic on the cave. Whilst she did that, Arthur was in thought on his next moves, he could finish some of his quests as well as start his training especially magic due to Merlin being here. So he began to plan out his regime with the help of the system.
A few hours passed, Arthur finished his planned rather quickly so he decided to go hunting for a while to pass the time. It was rather successful, he managed to catch three rabbits and a deer, as well as plenty of vegetables and herbs.
After his last trip back from hunting, Arthur saw Merlin standing outside the cave waiting for him to arrive back. "Come Arthur the throne room is done as well as a proper bedroom," he was happy to hear that, he placed his gains at the side with the rest and walked side by side with Merlin to the cave.
As he got behind the waterfall, he was shocked, what stood in front were two huge iron door, 'it seems there was some iron in the cave, so she used that for the entrance, smart!' As he was admiring the entrance, the doors opened and what they revealed was gob smacking, the entire cave seems to have been expanded further, allowing more space and more rooms to be available.
"First of, the entire throne room is made of a mixture of quartz and iron as there was huge mineral veins all around, this allowed for more defence and structure as well as make it look better". "Secondly I've expanded it outwards and upwards making it look like a real castle Thorne room and as you can see up there I was able to extract just enough gold from the surrounding to make a golden throne mixed with some pure white quartz". Thirdly I've added one huge bedroom behind the throne, there is also a bathhouse, using the water from the waterfall, there is a kitchen, a lounge, a office/library, a training room and a Laboratory".
After she seemed to have finished there was one quick question Arthur had, "Merlin where will you be sleeping if you only made one bedroom?" This caused Merlin to chuckle and slightly blush which was hidden from Arthur. "Well of course, I'll be sleeping with you, how can I let a small child be all alone!".
Arthur decided to just leave it at that and go along with it, unknown as to what this would lead to in the future. "Very well, anyway, thank you for the hard work Merlin, I caught plenty of animals so we should have enough food for a while, and I can also upgrade the territory a bit until we can start making it into a real kingdom". "Yes that sounds like a good plan, now before all that is there anything you need?".
"Other than helping with upgrading the area and protection, I could maybe use some training from use in magic and anything else you can offer?," again Arthur used his now signature puppy dog eyes which was the killing blow for Merlin. Immediately she picked up Arthur and squeezed him pushing his head into her not so discreet breasts.
Although happy at her actions he was confused but played along, "yes I'd be more than happy to teach you everything I know," Arthur pleases with her answer decided to tease her back back kissing the defenceless Merlin on the cheek causing our legendary mage to freeze.
After escaping her grasp and leaving the frozen statue behind, he walked over to the throne preparing to go back to the system. He had finished the first two main quests and could look to do one of the sub-quests, as well as maybe get a familiar or another servant.
After clicking the system a few noises could be heard *DING**DING* the mission complete and the rewards tabs appeared after clicking them, all the rewards either went to their tabs or for such things as the resources they appeared in front of him out of thin air which seemed to have awoken our frozen mage.
Merlin turned around and looked at the crates of resources that appeared out of nowhere and again looked at Arthur. Seeing his dismissive gaze she decided to leave the topic for now instead she wondered what he would do next. Arthur now decided was the time to look into the kingdom tab and begin building the village.
