High-Speed Divine Words— Rapid Words of Divine— is a Skill that assists with magical incantations via a power to activate Thaumaturgy without the use of Magic Circuits. The language of the Age of Gods, back when words played a heavy role in spellcasting. As such, it is a power long lost by modern magi. It is particularly useful for direct attack magic.

Now one can question, since Divine Words is a skill that assist Incantation. Then What is Incantation?

Well, Chants or Incantations also known as Aria, is an activity necessary for the activation of Magecraft. Procedure-wise, incantations would be the "application" part in a system of application, acceptance, examination and issuance. Aria is employed by types of spellcasters, including some Psychics, but is most closely associated with magi.

The reason why Icarus was shocked to see that ordinary people are using magic is because of divine words. Because according to his father, Divine Words activate magecraft without needing chants or connecting with one's Magic Circuits.

People can use Greater Magecraft as if they were Single Action spells.

In this era of mystery, magic and Gods. Words play an important role because one can do almost anything with just a correct set of words.

Divine Words are languages from the Age of Gods—Which is the new era he found himself in— Where words played a heavy role in spellcasting. The users can do High-Thaumaturgies in one second because they give the World orders directly without connecting their Magic Circuits.

Terrifying, innit? One can give orders to the world. The world is really messed up, since when human can order the World?

Another thing that his father taught him was that Spells are classified accordingly with the length of their incantations, for an example.

Single-Action – Instantaneous spells. Requirement for activation is only to pass energy through the Magic Circuits —Gandr, most of Mystic Eyes—

One-Line – Spells are spells that the incantation is made of a single phrase composed of one word at the very least. A thaumaturgical process very well stabilized and easily activated— If he remembered correctly, Rin can use a spell stored inside her family's Crest—

Five-Line – Spells with incantations made of five phrases. Ten-Count – Instantaneous Contract. Already considered a simple ritual. The minimum step necessary to activate greater magecraft —spells with power ranked A or above according to Nasuverse— Consisting of ten phrases or more. A fully trained modern magus can perform them in about a minute.

More than the power of the spell, this particular classification seems to be related on how smoothly a mystery can be reenacted: the easier a miracle can be actualized the shorter its incantations will be.

[Few week later]

At the Morning.

Icarus woke up like a sloth. Lazy without any intentions to get out of bed, but he needs to.

He needs to practice the Divine Words again, he need to perfect them until he can do Five or Ten-line spells.

Magic.

Such a fascinating thing to play with. One has to understand that he didn't experience Magic in modern Earth. So to play with this mythical energy that all living beings use, no matter how small in quantity it may be, They all use it. He feels like one of those nutjobs scientist that a lot of movies love to portray them as.

Anyhow, he feels like a proper 'magus'. (Un)fortunately he's using miracles as his magic, Magus use Magecraft. We're not on the same level brotha.

With a lot of struggling done, he finally got out of bed as he walked down the hallways. As he trudged, sleep still clouding his eyes, he stumbled past his father sitting in the dining room with a heavy frown upon his countenance.

Icarus isn't an idiot. He immediately knew that something was wrong. His father is someone who doesn't concern himself with the opinions of the masses. So seeing him contemplating with a grimace on his face, Indicated that something was wrong. Very wrong.

But nonetheless, he didn't stop his journey. He walked pass his father and continued with his morning rituals.

A few hours later. Icarus returned to the house. He had gone to Athens to escape the tension around the house but he didn't know that he'll be going through a lot more worse than just being around his father.

Out of the frying pan, into the fire.

A lot of people were giving him a strange look when he passed them, it didn't immediately click. He thought that they just staring at something in his direction, not him. But eventually he understood that no, they were definitely looking at him. A little of social manipulation...which is easy from someone who had lived in the era of communication.

[A/N: people think manipulation is something grand. I'll like to put that stereotype to rest, misdirection, omission and lying can be considered as a form of Manipulation.]

Now he know that shit is about to go down any minutes now. Gods.

He hope against all hope that Fate should not play a dirty hand against him. He knows about Icarus, the original Icarus death and escape from his home city. His life has been immortalized in modern Earth to teach people about the consequences of hubris and not listening to your older, experienced elders.

Fate.

Something that was described as an a inevitable concept. Something that mortals try to escape but found themselves fulfilling their destiny.

Icarus doesn't want to be like those foolish mortals. As long as he doesn't suffer, deal with annoying people or Gods manipulating him. Then he will do anything that Fate or the Gods asks of him.
