Chapter 14 - Comforting the Director

Felix stood in front of Olga's room as he looked at it. He knocked on the door a few times and waited for a response. When he didn't get any he knocked again.

"Go away." Olga's voice said from inside the room.

"Director, its me Felix. Can you please let me in?" Felix asked her.

"Felix?" Olga voice asked when she heard him.

Then it was silent for a few moments before he heard her again.

"Come in." Olga said as the door opened.

'She let me in.' Felix thought to himself as he walked inside.

He looked at Olga's room and it is quite spacious and has various things connecting to magecraft on it. He also spotted a picture of her and her father but his attention was on her who is currently sitting on her bed with her legs brought to her chest while she is covered by her bedsheet. The door to her room closed as he looked at her.

"Director Olga, um, how are you doing?" Felix asked before wincing.

'Why did I start like that?' Felix thought to himself.

"Terrible." Olga said to him with her face hidden from him.

He took some time to organise his thoughts before he decided to talk to her again.

"Director, I know that I'm someone who had only met you today but, I'm truly sorry that you had to go through that." Felix said to her as he stood beside her bed.

"It's fine. It's fine." Olga said to him as he watched her.

He looked at her bedsheet and narrowed his eyes at her.

"Director, I'm taking your bedsheet now." Felix said as he grabbed her bedsheet.

"Don't..." Olga said weakly which worried him more.

He pulled and managed to get the bedsheet out of her hands as she is now fully visible to him. The director of Chaldea is in front of him.

She is dressed in the same clothes that she had in the singularity, but the most obvious difference was the fact that there were tears on her face while she has a downtrodden and despair filled face as she also doesn't seem to have any energy.

"Director." Felix said sadly at seeing her state.

"What? Pathetic right? I guess this is what I have always been." Olga said to him with a weak chuckle.

"Olga." Felix said with a sad face.

"After all, I can't do anything without the help of others can I? No matter what I do. No matter what I sacrifice. No matter how hard I work. No matter how much I study. No matter what I do, I always... *Sob* always *Sob* always..." Olga said as she started to cry as she started to sob and cry.

Felix looked at her, not knowing what to say to calm her down.

'What do I even say to someone like that? It's not easy to comfort someone. How do those anime protagonists manage to do it?' Felix thought to himself in agony.

"I have always worked hard. Always trying to show that I am worthy of my title. That I'm a good mage. That I'm my father's heir. But no matter what I do, no matter how much I train, study and work, I never am enough. Nothing I do is enough." Olga said as she cried as she placed her head on her knees and cried.

"Lev was right. I really am a failure. I couldn't get the approval of my father, of the mages association, I'm not even that good of a director. And and, and I was useless when Lev stood in front of me. I... I..." Olga said in sadness as she cried more.

Felix looked at her before he sighed to himself. He moved his body forward and hugged her from her left as he brought her head to his chest. This action surprised her as her body froze up when she felt him.

"I'm sorry that all of this happened to you Olga. But I know for a fact that you're not a failure. I think you're a very good Magus." Felix said to her as he hugged her.

"You're just a civilian so you don't know any better. Just stop it." Olga said weakly as her body shoot.

"No I'm not." Felix said as he picked her up surprising her.

'I'm probably going to get slapped after this but I have to get her back up.' Felix thought to himself as he sat on the bed and placed her on his lap.

"What are you?" Olga asked confused as she looked at him.

"I'm not that good with comforting people so I can only do this. And I know that I'm just a civilian director, but I don't think that those Magus actually care much about how much you work. Because if they did then they would've acknowledged you." Felix said to her.

Olga tried to say something but her words got caught in her throat as tears filled her eyes blurring her vision as she felt herself being hugged by him. It has been a long time since someone has hugged her like this. A long time since she has felt the warmth of another person.

"Stop trying to comfort me. I'm not... weak." Olga said though her voice was breaking as well.

"Crying doesn't mean that you're weak Olga. I know that you want to prove yourself to others. But you have done a lot of great things. Keeping Chaldea working and out of the hands of the Mages Association and doing a successful Rayshift and all of that. To me you're a very accomplished person." Felix said to her with a soft tone as he hugged her.

"You..." Olga said as she looked at him as her eyes went a bit wide while tears fell from her eyes.

"And if you don't want others to see you cry. Then, maybe, I can be the only on who sees you cry. I promise I won't tell anyone." Felix said to her a bit nervously.

'I am clearly bad at this.' Felix thought to himself as he looked at her.

Olga heard him as she looked at him. She looked at him for a few seconds before she buried her face in his chest as he looked at her.

"You're an idiot." Olga mumbled as she hid her face from him.

"I guess I am. So I hope that you can guide me." Felix said to her as he smiled at her.

Olga went silent at his words as she remembered the many things that she had went through during her lifetime. The work she put in to get recognised by her father, the death of her father, being the head of the Animusphere family, inheriting Chaldea, trying to make results to present to the association, the Rayshift and the singularity. She had gone through a lot of things in such a short time of her life.

She also remembered how Felix had worked in the singularity and even though she didn't think much of him he had helped her immensely in correcting the singularity. The way he fought with the Servant, protecting her and commanding them. Also saving her from being killed by Lev as well.

'No one, has shown this much care for me before.' Olga thought to herself as she hugged him.

"Director Olga?" Felix asked her.

"Just... shut up." Olga said as tears fell from her eyes.

"As you say Director." Felix said with a smile as he hugged her tight.

Her body tensed a bit before it loosened up as she leaned onto his body as she sobbed. Then she started to cry more and then let out all of her frustrations out as she cried on her chest as he smiled at her and rubbed her back.
