Chapter 9

A/N: Yorokobe! Kimi no negai wa youyaku kanau. I have practically given up on fgo. No Chad Orion. No Russian princess. I need to somehow get a santa servant.

Gilgamesh had trouble sleeping but that was no problem when he replaced his pillow with the Pillow of Deep Sleep. The moment his head hit the pillow everything went dark as soon he was in a deep sleep with a beautiful dream of a what if scenario. What if he simply lived a happy life with his best friend and ruled over humanity peacefully? What if he didn't have to act as the bridge between the gods and the humans? What if he didn't have to make the humans hate him and hate the gods as well? What if he didn't have to separate himself from the equation?

Gilgamesh soon found himself in the realm of dreams as he slept all the way till the world started rumbling. Gilgamesh peeked one eye open as he stared into the room. The house was shaking and everything was moving yet nothing collapsed. As expected of a house that he had constructed and set bounded fields for.

A tick mark appeared on his head as he clenched his hands in anger as the tick mark only enlarged from his anger. He sighed before breathing once and before exhaling slowly. "Calm down. You're not your immature archer self. Calm down." A loud explosion resounded through the city as he had enough.

"Ugh! I've had enough! When I get my hands on whoever cause it. I'm sending them to Kur myself!"

His sleeping robe vanished and was replaced with his modern formal wear. A long white collar sleeved t-shirt, black trousers and a black and gold tie. He cast an anti-detection spell and an invisibility spell before reinforcing himself to be faster than he usually was. In an instant he arrived to see the boy who had bothered him almost dead by a slice that destroyed numerous buildings.

His eyes narrowed, he did not hand down the death sentence to the boy. The boy was a child still full of innocence yet tainted by adulthood. Even more so the girl who was his brother but there was something off, that innocence was a facade. Yet he stared at the boy before announcing himself. A king had to be the epitome of everything he wanted to be.

He sighed before he yelled at the boy.

"Fool! You mongrel, if there is danger then move away. It's as simple as that or can you not even follow a simple order from your king?" Shido was surprised but his body started to mvoe on its own as a side effect of the skill [Charisma A+] The girl narrowed her eyes before Gilgamesh glared at her "Mongrel, do not test my patience and mercy. I'd rather gleam over your entire existence but keeping it active is a pain, now speak what are you?"

Gilgamesh kept an eye on the boy until a piece of rubble fell onto his head effectively knocking him out. The girl looked at him before answering "Spirit." Gilgamesh froze a bit before breaking into a laughing fit. "You! A spirit?"

"Fuhahaha!"

His laughter stopped before glaring at the girl with a bored expression. "A spirit you say? Not a heroic spirit? Just a spirit? So no different from a wraith or a bodily outside mental projection or information of a deceased individual retained from rumours and mystery as a ghost? Just a spirit?"

"Fuhahaha!"

The girl did not like his laugh and shot back her own question. "Who are you then if you're not attacking me?" Gilgamesh stopped as his laughter died down. His body seemed to radiate charisma and beauty as he gazed down on her from above. "Foolish mongrel who does not even know of your own king. Remember my name for a mongrel who has never heard of me."

"Gilgamesh! The King of Heroes!"

"Now begone from my sight."

The girl shook her head as Gilgamesh closed his eyes before looking up at the air.

"Mongrels I'd advise you not to act as if you belong up there."

Kotori stopped her explaining as Shido stared at the man. "Wait isn't that our new neighbour?"

The camera directly zoomed in on his face. His crimson red eyes were near slits as they stared at the invisible air in which they were in place. "Do not test my patience mongrels."

Nothing happened until his hand faced the air as a spark of golden particles formed a stone clay tablet book. Runes soon formed on the floor below him as he disappeared.

Kotori was surprised "... A male spirit? No can't be..."

A voice came from right behind her. "I was am an incarnated heroic spirit foolish mongrel." In an instant everyone turned their heads to look at the man sitting on a golden throne. "I warned you not to test my patience but listening to your hypothesis and antics amused me."

Kotori "Wait that's impossible for there to be a male spirit." A glare shut her up. "On behalf on every heroic spirit/hero I know and respect I'd advise you to keep your mouth shut if you are to compare us to those spirits."

Gilgamesh looked at the struggling little girl. "You want to ask questions. I will permit it to clear up this misunderstanding. Now speak."

Gilgamesh leaned on his wrist as gazed at Kotori.

"You said heroic spirit instead of spirit. What's the difference?"

Gilgamesh sighed "Very well. Heroic spirits are people or myths who have made a huge impact on history as we know it or have had their legends passed down and now reside in the throne of heroes. Those spirits however have no legend behind them. They are simply no names with powers and perhaps their own watered down version of noble phantasms."

Kotori took the information in before bowing "This may be disrespectful but which heroic spirit are you and why are you still living if you are supposed to be dead?" Gilgamesh laughed "Mongrel, you are very good at asking questions. However I'll forgive you for not knowing me as children these days don't read many myths or history related things."

"Gilgamesh, The King of Heroes and mankind's oldest king and hero!"

"As for why I'm still alive, I simply incarnated myself and now I am living as a living heroic spirit."

Kotori remained silent as Shido asked a really stupid question.

"Aren't you supposed to be really scummy? Sleeping with many people's wives before they got married?"

Shido gulped as many golden ripples in space surrounded him with blades pointed at him.

"I'd not like to mention my younger tyrant self."

"Mongrel."
