Rebirth & First Power Roll

Within a seemingly endless black void there floated the naked body of the newly deceased Kuro, an average if incredibly bored young man, and an avid lover of all things related to anime, manga, novels, fanfiction, etc.

He had been floating there in this endless void for approximately 999,999,999 Years and 364 days, and had done nothing to relieve his boredom other than meditation and rewatching is memories of his past life thousands of times on repeat to the point that he had perfectly memorised every piece of media he had ever enjoyed during his lifetime.

He was half way through his 10,000th rewatch of Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Bladeworks when his time spent in the void reached 1,000,000,000 Years. He was startled out of his meditation by the appearance of a holographic screen appearing in front of his soul with the classic system *ding* sound.

Kuro quirked his eyebrow at this sudden change of pace from the past eternity of madness and boredom, but through his innate ability to go with the flow and adapt to any circumstances with total apathy, he chose to just accept his fate and take whatever he can get.

'Huh. Not the worst series I could have rolled, but certainly not the safest, depending on which essence I gain.' Kuro thought to himself as he eyed the screen that would decide whether his new life would be on Easy Mode or Hard Mode.

And with that, his soul disappeared from the infinite void, and his new life would begin anew.

When I opened up my eyes for the first time in forever, the first thing I noticed is how out of synch I felt with my new body. The second thing I noticed is that I'm surrounded by fire and debris and screaming as far as the eye can see, and I appear to be burning alive. Most of my new body is so burnt that I legitimately can't feel any pain due to my pain receptors having been charred beyond repair, and the only reason I can see and hear is that my left eye and ear seem to have gone barely untouched by the flames.

Just when I was about to attempt to stand up and walk regardless of my current state, I noticed my Essence activating within my soul and five choices appear in my mind. I know instinctively that I can only choose two of them, and that it will take another week before I recieve another chance.

Well, I don't feel like spending the rest of my second life as a charred half-corpse, so I guess I'll choose [Absolute Life Force], and since I don't like the rest of the options, I'll just go with [Gender Manipulation]. Turning my enemies into women might be a fun prank to try? Or I guess I could always try out being a woman instead? It might be useful at some point in time.

As soon as I confirmed my coices, I felt it within my body and soul as an boundless sea of Life-Force was generated and infused into my body. I felt it as much as I saw as my body swiftly regenerated from it's previous half-dead state into the peak of health within seconds, growing faster as my now infinite life energy grew larger and larger. when it was done healing my body of all damage it moved on to strengthen it. I felt as all of my physical abilities skyrocketed to infinity, as my Life-Force provided me with infinite stamina and could be used to empower my to the level of planet destruction at the minimum.

Well, it seems like I won't have any trouble surviving at least, I've been here for literally less than a minute and I already have eternal youth, absolute regeneration, and the inability to die, alongsode an infinite supply of highly versatile life energy and strength and durability that dwarfs pretty much anything the Nasuverse has to offer with a few notable exceptions, such as the Mystic Eyes Of Death Perception.

Looking down at my now fully-grown and muscular adonis of a body, that is also buck naked due to my clothes having been burnt off, I decided that now was the perfect time to try out my second Power. I watched in intriguement as my overtly masculine body shifted into the body of a beautiful woman, and then proceeded to do what any man of culture would do in such a situation and grope my boobs for science! But of course, I then heard a woman's screams as she burned to death from a couple of meters away, and remembered that now Really isn't the time nor place for my perverted curiosity to show it's face and immediately shifted back into my Male Body.

I looked away from the burning corpses and started walking casually through the hellscape that was the Great Fuyuki Fire, completely ignoring everything else except for my destination, which is literally anywhere that is not on fire.

I just hope that I don't have to deal with any questions about why I was unharmed despite streaking naked through the burning city. Meh, what can they do to me at this point, I'm literally as unkillable as any immortal can be expected to be.
