After the fake funeral of Artemis, Raiden went back with the team to their headquarters, obviously to pretend that he's standing by them.

"Hey, Raiden, I wanted to introduce you to this guy," said Dick as he led Raiden to meet a new teen joining the team. He looked like a mini Wally to Raiden. "Hi, I'm Bart Allen! From the future! Super speed king! Grandson of Barry Allen! Crash Right ?" said Bart as he dashed around Raiden.

"Cute, reminds me of old Wally. The name's Raiden Kagawa," said Raiden as he looked at Bart. Bart extended his hand to shake Raiden's hand but looked confused as he said, "Are you new? I'm from the future, but I've never heard of you." Raiden raised an eyebrow as he turned to Dick, asking, "That wasn't a joke? He's actually from the future?"

"Nope! Nada! I'm indeed honored with knowledge from beyond times! But unfortunately, my ship crashed and broke. Can't go back there now! So I'm stuck here with you all! so I'll teach you the CRASH way of the futur !" said Bart as he kept flexing himself. Dick was the one to be the most confused as he asked, "Are you sure? You've never heard of Raiden? He's one of the strongest people on earth. How could his name be erased from history?"

Hearing Dick and Bart speak about the future made Raiden think, 'Is it possible that due to Gaia summoning me here, an entire new future was made? Or wait, am I a singularity? Does that mean the future Bart comes from is the one where I never existed? Damn, this stuff is confusing me to hell.'

"Doesn't matter, I'll make my name known from now on. Anyways, Dick, I'm going to head out. I've got some training to do," said Raiden as he went to the teleporter and dipped.

Dick looked at Raiden's back as he thought, 'All of that strength and he still trains more and more. What is it that you wish to reach, Raiden?'

In his house, Raiden made sure to create a massive bunker for his training sessions. It was reinforced with some of the strongest steel known to the universe, just to be sure, and it was completely soundproof. He didn't want to scare his neighbors. Unfortunately for him, while he was able to cover the sound, the massive damage impact he's done has already scared his neighbors, as every day, they feel like many earthquakes are moving under them.

"RHOOO AIAS!" screamed Raiden as he used every ounce of magic he had to create a massive purple shield that looked like a blooming flower. Unfortunately for him, no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't maintain it for long enough.

"SHIT! System, show me my magic in quantity form," said Raiden as a screen emerged showing him his magic.

Seeing the stat, Raiden sighed as he thought, "Again, it used most of my magic, but still failed… Emiya's Magic Stat is only at B rank, whilst mine is EX. His magic quantified could only amount to about 4000, yet he can use this Shield without problems and still continue fighting. What am I missing?"

As his thoughts started to race, Raiden was frustrated. He grabbed his head and got angry as he threw himself on the ground and said, "Damn it! I finally managed to get access to his crazy projection magic, but I'm so bad at it. The swords are so weak, and Rho Aias won't even function correctly!"

"Oh? Is the great Raiden Kagawa finally defeated? I had expected you to have already surpassed me in magic, but I guess not?" Hearing the familiar voice, Raiden turned his head to see who it is. "Zatanna? What are you doing here?" Zatanna crossed her hands as she said, "Not happy to see me?" Next to her, Raven walked in as she said, "Zatanna and I share some spells and magic information together, so we bonded quite a bit." Hearing Raven's explanation, things started to make sense.

"So is that a new type of magic you developed?" asked Zatanna, as she was intrigued. "Well not really, it's one of my servant's special abilities, but I'm not able to replicate it well. Unlike Circe and Medea, his magic isn't based on magic circles and incantations; he just does it. Even he has no clear explanation for it. Here, look; TRACE ON," as Raiden said, green lines started to spread all over his hands towards his face as Raiden created two short swords.

Seeing the swords, both Zatanna and Raven were impressed, but they soon realized Raiden's problem, as when he swung them against a training dummy, they broke too quickly.

"This spell is visually impressive, but is it really useful in combat?" said Zatanna questioning its usefulness. "You would say that, but that's because I'm bad at it. In Emiya's hands, he could even replicate some noble phantasms and create hundreds of authentic swords in a matter of seconds," explained Raiden.

"What are you missing then? Why are your swords weak?" asked Raven, but the one to answer was Zatanna. "Raiden, do you lose a lot of magic when using this? If so, then my guess is that your efficient usage of it is the problem. It feels like you're trying to create the shape instead of the essence of the sword. It's like you use too much magic to make it look real, but leave it hollow on the inside. You need to reverse that, and you might be able to get somewhere with it." Hearing Zatanna's words, Raiden's eyes opened wide as he realized what she meant by that. What she said was true; he was more focused on how the sword looked instead of its true power.

"Thank you, Zatanna! I'll practice with your method."

…

Three Days Later

…

"TRACE ON!" said Raiden as a plethora of swords emerged behind him, each with its own unique set of shapes and powers. He then aimed towards the training dummies that were set up and launched them. Chaos unfolded as many of the dummies got absolutely pummeled and cut multiple times, but the swords didn't fare much better; half of them broke on impact.

"I still have a long way to go, but this is undeniable progress," said Raiden as he looked at the havoc he created. 'Still, the swords are useful, but I still can't use Rho Aias. Does that mean I'm unable to use that unless I bond with Emiya better? Hmm, I should consider… Wait, what?'

As he was thinking about his training, his magic senses activated. He had placed the entire vicinity of Rhode Island under a detection spell, and right now, it's signaling that some unknown ship has entered it.

'It's something underwater, a submarine. It has to be Aqualad!' thought Raiden as he left his training room. He looked around until he found Carry. 'Good, she's just watching TV. If Aqualad is attacking, I don't want her to get involved.'

"Raiden? Is something wrong?" asked Carry, to which Raiden simply said, "Stay here. I'm going out to check on something. Don't leave the house; I'm serious."

"Uh, um, okay, I won't."

Raiden then immediately left the house. He went flying in the direction of the ship but kept himself hidden under an invisibility spell just in case.

'Aqualad, besides him, that's Artemis. She's disguised, but I can't clearly see it. Zatanna's magic, huh? He's with a bunch of villains. From the looks of it, it's something he planned with Dick. I'll be on standby just in case,' thought Raiden as he continued to hover over the island carefully. He wasn't happy with allowing this since it might lead to something dangerous, but he had to trust Dick and Kaldur. 'Besides, I left the team. Why do I even care about it this much? *Sigh*'

After waiting for a while, Aqualad and his squad left the place in a hurry, kidnapping a few members of the team. 'Glad I didn't let Carry go.'

But then, shocking him very, was an explosion emerging from the inside of the mountain, leading to the complete destruction of it.

Raiden deflected a few debris that were heading towards the city and then went directly towards the scene, looking for any signs of life. 'It can't be; Kaldur wouldn't kill them, would he?'

After looking for a while, Raiden looked behind him to see Carry using her blue ring to help Connor, Dick, and Wolf escape from the water.

"I thought I told you to stay home," said Raiden as he looked at her with a bit of anger. "I'm sorry; I just saw the explosion. I couldn't help but come help them. They're my team too!"

"*Sigh* It's fine; you did good," said Raiden as he looked at the unconscious Dick. 'This has become a bigger problem now, Dick. You almost got hurt, even if you planned this.'

…

Later on, after waking up, Dick explained how Kaldur used Impulse (Bart Allen) and Blue Beetle to find the mountain and kidnapped them with Beast Boy.

Hearing that, Raiden thought, 'This kidnapping of kids is getting too ridiculous. It's time I got involved'
