Chapter 1

A tall pale brown haired teen walked through the depths of the street as he gazed repeatedly at the dark. The lack of streetlights did not dampen the light of his emerald eyes. He shook his grey overcoat before wrapping his blue scarf a bit more snug.

"I would appreciate if you didn't beat around the bush."

His voice was smooth and faultless, something developed after dealing with the moonlit world. "I still am a student you know? I have homework I need to do."

A tall man crossed the corner and sighed as he puffed out cigarette smoke. "I apologise, I did have to make sure I got the right person. Wilbur Thorn?" Wilbur nodded as he turned around to face the man with glasses. "Lord El-Melloi II, I've been asked to deliver this to you, an important case that Lady Lorelei wants done."

Wilbur opened it before staring at the contents for a good 10 minutes before burning it up with a snap of his fingers. "I have no interest in playing this little game." Lord El-Melloi II stared at him in a puzzled expression "You do not want to take this case?" Wilbur halted in his steps as he turned around to face El-Melloi II again. "No you pathetic dolt, it's cause I've already solved it. Maybe they should get some competent brains in the Clock Tower for once."

"You might as well tell her the culprit was obviously her father."

Lord Ell-Melloi II stared at him "You got that from just looking at a picture of the scene, evidence and suspects?" Wilbur raised his brow "You guys didn't? Oh right... I suppose that's why you dolts even came to me in the first place. Now I have homework."

Wilbur walked off into the night as a sear of pain brought his attention to his hand. "Oh... A challenge for me? Very well Grail-kun, I'll play along."

Wilbur stared at his breakfast with his eyes in a deep trance. His hand moved as he scribbled a few names on a piece of paper before placing it into his coat pocket. He sighed as he was lucky he didn't get put into Homurahara Academy, their uniform was nasty looking brown. He was much more comfortable in his usual set of black shirt and turquoise tie and scarf. His [Coat of Bois] was his most favourited piece of clothing.

He was still a teen and he loved memes, the mystic code was made with inspiration from the meme that compared the pocket spaces of girls and boys. In his attempt to turn the meme into fruition for the boys pockets he had created the [Coat of Bois] That was the meme name at least. Real name? [Spacial Coat] That was it.

A quick message to his school and a bit of persuasion and he had gained an excuse to stay away from school at least for a while. Now for the summoning, frankly he had prepared another mystic code for the occasion.

[Fortuna's Coin]

Named after the goddess of luck Fortuna. It would effectively increase his "luck" although he had long unraveled the mystery of "luck" there was no way of unraveling true luck. All it was, was a series of circumstances that differentiated between idle and non idle waiting. To be at the place actively waiting for luck to occur. Similar to waiting at a certain spot for a pigeon to take a shit. Now it's up to the remainder of True Luck to determine if the pigeon is going to take a shit.

The coin worked by designating his position and time and stats as "Actively waiting" and all that remained was to wait to see if the pigeon would take the shit or not.

He tossed the a bit of his blood into the middle of the circle as he waited before flipping the coin into the air. All there was now was to see if the True Luck would fall onto him aka pigeon taking the shit.

The coin dropped as it clattered before rolling onto heads. "Perfect"

"Let silver and steel be the essence. Let stone and the archduke of contracts be the foundation. Let black be the colour I pay tribute to. Let rise a wall against the wind that shall fall. Let the four cardinal gates close. Let the three-forked road from the crown reaching unto the Kingdom rotate."

"Let it be declared now; your flesh shall serve under me, and my fate shall be with your sword. Submit to the beckoning of the Holy Grail. Answer, if you would submit to this will and this truth."

"An oath shall be sworn here. I shall attain all virtues of all of Heaven; I shall have dominion over all evils of all of Hell."

"From the Seventh Heaven, attended by three great words of power, come forth from the ring of restraint, protector of the holy balance!"

The light from the circle shone brightly as a flare of flames poured out. Wilbur sighed as he snapped his fingers causing the flames to be reduced into little flakes of white snow flowers.

A white haired female stood there with a banner her pale gold eyes stared at him, she was clearly trying to analyse him not that he really cared. "Servant Avenger, you are my master?"

Wilbur stared at her "Am I your master?"

The girl stared back and glared at him "I asked you the question first, are you my master?" Flames started gathering on her blade and banner until it faded into harmless snow flakes.

"Well there's no one else in this house and considering I'm standing in front of the summoning circle? I dunno? Am I your master?"

"Yes who else would be your master dolt."

The girl glared at him "I'll have you know you're lucky I haven't burnt you to ashes."

"Doubt it." With that he walked off as she followed him out of the basement.

They sat opposite on the couches as she became more and more irritated. "What are you staring at me for?" He gave no answer but continued to stare.

"I'm assuming french origin. I would say Jeanne D'Arc but clearly not as the banner is of a different design but I can think of none other than Jeanne D'Arc because of the banner."

"Seems draconic in design so maybe British somewhere near King Arthur's reign?"

"Possibly not"

Though I'm just eluding the main guess.

"A variant, I've summoned a variant of human history."

"An alternate version of Jeanne D'Arc that has something to do with dragons and vengeance?"

"Perhaps a Jeanne D'Arc that assumed hatred at the final moments of the stake?"

"I'm right aren't I?"

"Jeanne"
