They got to the hospital in ample time and were able to save her life. But she fell into a coma which lasted close to eight months. Even the doctors was not optimistic about her recovery so Aryan was shocked when he got a call that she had woken up.

Getting to the hospital, he found her surrounded by several nurses and two doctors. They were there to check up on the level of her recovery.

She was silent but her eyes told stories of agony and pain. Just what had a young lady gone through to have a look so cold in her eyes. Her eyes were like coal embers, dark mysterious.

Layla clutched the bed sheet as she endured his scrutiny. His gaze was familiar but she just couldn't remember where she had seen him.

"Who are you?" Asked Layla while staring at Aryan.

"The one who saved your life". The look in her eyes were like those of someone staring at a stranger, no sense of familiarity. Was it possible that she had forgotten about him" ?

Layla…. I…I'm…. Aryan stammered, he just didn't know what to say to her, he thought he lost her. He had already accepted the fact that she was gone forever, only for him to bump into her after three years.

She wasn't doing well, he could tell by the way she was dressed when he picked her up after her accident.

There was a look of shock on Layla's face." Who are you"? How do you know my name"? She bombarded him with questions.

Aryan's face turned pale immediately. "You really don't remember me" ? He asked. There was a hint of pain, longing and heartache in his gaze.

I don't came her reply. What Layla didn't know was that her nonchalant attitude was like a stab to Aryan's heart.

Aryan chuckled darkly. "To think I spent three good years searched for you, throwing the city and the entire state in turmoil. Only for you to come back three years later and you don't even remember me". He broke down then, his voice hoarse.

His words shocked her but she still did not know who he was. A grown up man breaking down in tears was not a sight to behold.

"I'm sorry but I really don't know who you are". Her words further caused him to almost fly into an outrage.

Aryan stared at her for a long time. His silent gaze seem to exerted a strong pressure on her, Layla was also not one to back down.

She gazed back at him fiercely. If it was a battle of aura he wanted,he would get it. She would let him know she was not a push over.

The silent battle of strength continue for a few minutes, it was so silent that even the noise of a pin drop would echo in the hospital ward. Layla decided to submit, after all a wise man submits to circumstances.

Mr…. She looked at him expecting him to give her a name. And he answered Aryan.

Well Mr Aryan, I'm grateful for your help the past few days but apart from today, I once again admit that I've never had an encounter with you. In plain words I don't know you were her words

Aryan smiled, even though she seemed to have forgotten about him, she still had her feisty and tenacious attitude.

"You don't know me or you don't remember me"? Aryan probed. Layla shook her head.

"No offense taken" He continued," well I'm Aryan Khalid".

He smiled. Now you know me
