Pip

Quinn P.O.V.

I heard some noise from the porch and instantly knew that they were back home. "We're home honey" my parents called out. Even before I could meet them, Pip yelped forward very eager to meet them. "Woah" my mum was shocked. "Who's this cutie?" Dad questioned. "I found her near our doorstep with a bruised paw. So I took her to the vet and cleared up the mess, she had made earlier" I said out in one breath. "Dog? I'm not allowing you to keep it" my mum stated. "Aww mum!! She was dying and needed help. Now, she got attached to me as I did too" I whined. "What about the promise you did when we had a gold fish?" Mum questioned me. "Well it died because I overfed it out of love!" I snapped as my dad was muffling his laugh. "What about your parrot?" She shot back immediately. "It flew away because it didn't like it in the cage" "Did she?" Dad drawled.

                    "Okay!" I gave up. "It died because her pair was eaten by the cat" I grimaced. "Promise me that you'll keep this cutie alive for a month" dad asked me as he winked his eyes. "Sure dad" I said as I took her in my arms. "Good Merida or else I wouldn't have allowed you to keep it" "As if you would" my mum remarked. "Thanks dad" I said and hugged him. "She is now officially called as Pip" I said proudly. "Wow that's a nice name" mum commented. "Well missy, you better be the one to take her out to walk and to go the vet regularly" she instructed me. "Dad chimed in, "Now you have become a part of our family, Pip Larson!" as I twirled her around and she happily barked at us.

                 "Did you make friends?" Dad asked me while sipping his glass of water. "Hmm yes dad, Nina, Felix and Katie - my old friend" I answered. "Good. Didn't I tell you, there's nothing to worry about?" mum chirped up, while she served us dinner. "Got worried about nothing! Silly kiddo" my dad commented and laughed at his own words. I felt the temperature around us drop slightly which resulted a silence from them. "What is it?" Mum questioned. "I met her and she embarrassed me" I sighed. "Who is that 'her' ?" Dad asked me and my mum hit him with the spoon. "Ouch, Delta! What was that for?" He rubbed his head as he realized what was going on. "Oh okay, I got it" dad said. "Can I call her parents sweetie?" Mum spoke up. "Oh my God! That would definitely set the fire ablaze" I thought.

"No no, it is my problem mum. I think I can solve it" I panicked. "Okay, then the problem is solved?" he asked me. "Yeah dad" I answered him more like assuring myself. "Then could you make the temperature normal?" "Actually mum, I was able to control them back in Melbourne but over here, it's different. My powers are heightened over here, in Sitka" I replied honestly. "Oh" was the response I could get from them. We started eating in silence. Suddenly, Pip started licking my leg, "Maybe I'm very tasty!" I thought and it brought a small smile on my lips. I stuffed the remaining bits of the salad into my mouth and gulped down my orange juice. I took her in my arms when my dad spoke up, "Someone looks happy now" I smiled at him and rushed to the kitchen to give her some treats. Then I washed my plates and placed them on the dryer. By the time I was done, Pip came to my side. I took him in my arms as I called out, "Goodbye dad and mum" as the temperature became normal.

                  "C'mon Pip, this is my room but now it's ours" I told her and opened my door. She ran towards the bed and tried jumping but fell due to her height. I laughed at the sight of her and locked the door. Then I picked her up and placed her on my bed. I took my phone from the charger to be welcomed by threatening messages from my besties. It read :

RENI: Dude, Quinn, where are you?(10:12)

MEL:  Quinn.. Quinn.. Quinn.. (10:12)

RENI: Is she sleeping or something? (10:13)

MEL: No way! She is ignoring us.... (10:13)

RENI: QUINN MERIDA LUKE!!! Where the hell are you missy? 😡(10:13)

MEL: I'm gonna call your mum sweetie😈 (10:14)

RENI: Dude, what if she's really busy? (10:14)

MEL: I have bad pics of you Quinn! (10:14)

RENI: I guess you're gonna die when she sees it Mel (10:14)

MEL: I will not think twice about posting them in insta (10:15)

                   That message was sent two minutes ago. "Crap!! There's no way of stopping Melanie" I called them immediately, laying on my bed, with one hand meddling my earphones and the other, scratching behind Pip's ears. "I'm so sorry, my phone was in charge and I was having a conversation with my parents" I paused to breathe and continued, "Don't you dare upload my pics" "Okay duh!" Mel replied. "So why did you need me?" I asked them and Pip barked in response. "Who's that?" Mel asked. "Oh my gosh! You got a pup?" "Yeah Reni, you got me" I laughed. "Seriously Merry?" Mel questioned. "Yeah girl, she was a stray one. I got her vaccinated immediately and got her a chew toy when I came back home from work" "Wow" they said in unison. "So how was your new kinda old school?" "Did you miss us?" They started bombarding me with questions. "Obviously Reni, I did miss you guys. I might say that my old school looks renovated over the years, Mel. And..." I paused. "What is it?" Mel asked with concern dripping from her voice.

                 "I...I met her" I told them and I heard a gasp. "Did she apologize?" "No" "Did she hurt you?" I paused. I didn't want my friends to get worried about me. I'm a grown up aren't I? So, I can handle my problems. "No" I replied finally determined by my thoughts. "Woah, tell me if she did cause I'm a real baddie of this threesome group" Mel spoke up making us laugh. "Okay guys, will surely tell ya!" I said. After chatting for an hour or more, I fell asleep with my earphones on. Maybe because I got tired by working in Blossom? Don't know if that's true but I only knew, I was feeling hot which will never lead to a good cause.

Suddenly I heard my door creak open but damn, I was so tired to open my eyes so I stayed still. I felt a rough warm hand take away my earphones and my mobile from me. Then something soft fell on my body. "Whatever decision you take, I will stand by you Merida" he said. "I love you" he whispered and kissed me on the forehead. After he closed my door, I smiled as said back, "I love you too dad" and hugged my duvet.

             I might say that those two pet dying scenarios were true in my life:(

but the pup thing, I still haven't come to that but I've budging her for almost a year.. A YEAR!!

 she's got the answer no, so let's hope for the best!!
