Zara's eyes pleaded silently as she stared at Zayden. She pouted, and upon seeing her expression, his cheeks turned red.
"It's impossible... impossible," Zayden said firmly, his eyes darting to the list, avoiding her gaze.
"Please, Zayden," she whispered coaxingly, squinting her eyes.
Zayden's heart raced faster upon hearing the pleasant sound of his name. It was rare for her to call him by his first name, which felt both strange and comforting.
"But you promised me that you would fulfil it," Zara skillfully pressured him further.
She batted her eyelashes at him innocently and clasped her hands together in a pleading manner.
"That means I won't be going with you to your dad's place. And if he doesn't see you bringing me along, you'll get a scolding," she said, a small smile on her lips as she shook her head pityingly at Zayden's situation.
Earlier, she had thought he wouldn't agree, so she had prepared a plan B: act pitiful.
