Alexander paused his work, waiting for the next words from the little monster.

Seeing hope, the monster girl quickly wiped her tears away and said, "Master, I know where the monsters' lair is! I never lie, really!"

Alexander began to calculate his options. He didn't want anything bad to happen to Bluewater City. The Mercenary Guild had just established its foundation there, and it was beginning to grow. If Bluewater City fell, all his efforts would be wasted.

More importantly, the super fruit trees, the Heavenly Flame of Creation, and the Vine of Ascension were all located in the old district, and he wasn't sure if he could move them.

Squatting by the edge of the pit, Alexander calmly asked, "Tell me first, why did you monsters come to Bluewater City?"

The little monster's eyes darted around, and she pitifully asked, "Could you pull me out of here first?"

Alexander grinned and continued filling the pit, which made the little monster scream in fear, "I'll talk, Master! I'll talk!"

Only then did Alexander stop, waiting quietly for her explanation.

As he suspected, the monster invasion of Bluewater City wasn't just about feeding. It was much more complicated.

Otherwise, they wouldn't have sent strange monsters capable of disguising as humans, nor would they have targeted the new district.

They came to rescue a demon beast—one that was imprisoned by the security bureau.

Alexander raised an eyebrow. "Demon beasts are quite rare among monsters. What kind of demon beast is so important that you'd go through all this trouble to save it?"

The little monster replied, "It's a powerful demon beast with ninth level innate spirit energy. The humans want to harness its power."

Alexander's curiosity piqued. "Harness its power? How?"

The little monster explained, "A few years ago, the human elite developed a method to seal demon beasts inside awakeners. After the beast is sealed, the awakener can tap into its vast spiritual energy and abilities."

Alexander couldn't help but blurt out, "Wait, so they seal the beast inside a human to gain its power? Like that blonde haired brat?"

Based on what the little monster was saying, it sounded exactly like him!

The little monster didn't understand that but continued, "Naturally, the monsters can't allow humans to create such a powerful being, so we have to either rescue the demon beast or kill it!"

Alexander was still skeptical. How did such a low-level monster know so much valuable information?

Doubting her honesty, he walked over to the super fruit tree, picked a fruit, and tossed it to the monster girl. "Eat this."

The little monster hesitated but bit into the fruit, expecting the same kind of pain she had felt after eating the rose earlier.

To further test her, Alexander thought for a moment before asking, "Have you ever eaten a human?"

Without hesitation, the monster girl cried out, "Yes! But monsters eating humans is the same as humans eating animals—it's only natural!"

This little monster wasn't going to die just yet—she still had great value to him.
