No one had anticipated that without undergoing labor pains, Mo Yan's water would break first. By the time she was carried into the delivery room, apart from suppressed groans, she was in so much pain she couldn't utter a complete sentence.
"Lady, you're already dilated to six centimeters. It won't be long before the baby is born. Try your best to bear the pain and keep from crying out loud. Save your strength to deliver the young master," the midwife advised.
The three midwives bustling around Mo Yan, however, were pleased. Although they felt that the breaking of the water before contractions wasn't ideal, Mo Yan's cervix was dilating smoothly and the baby was in a good position, which meant that dystocia was unlikely. The only concern was that her belly was excessively large, which could mean she would need to expend more effort.
