Perfect Grade: Duelist

"..."

Han finally understood that his innate talent was the reason for that strange damage text.

Han opened his menu and saw that the help icon was flashing now. He quickly clicked it and was greeted with a info card.

<Innate Talent: Duelist> (Perfect Grade)

[Skill Effect: All skills will unleash two times.]

[General Effect: Increases all attributes by 20% in a 1v1 fight.]

[Perfect Bonus: Every 1v1 won against a stronger enemy will increase your general effects boost by 0.01%.]

Looking at the information Han didn't know what to say. He was fine with the general effect and perfect bonus but when he saw the skill effect he couldn't help but want to pinch himself.

'This is broken!' He thought. He started to shake with excitement. The effect was crazy powerful. He then thought back to that punch on the bandit leader. When he used Heavy Strike he saw the damage value show a strange + sign now he knew what that meant.

"Every time I use a skill it will activate two times." Saying this out loud he couldn't help but think about the future. If got himself a op skill he could use it two times with half the cost.

His daydreaming last for a small moment before he focused on the situation he was in. He looked at the dead bandit leader on the ground. For some reason Han didn't feel anything even though this body looked so real.

'Is this because of the system?' He thought. He then walked up and checked all around the dead body. In the end he only managed to find a few items. He checked each of them out.

[Item: Old Switchblade] (Type: Weapon)

[Rarity: Subpar] (Durability: 26/50)

[ATK DMG: +3]

[Special Effect: Has a 5% chance to cause bleeding effect, dealing 1 damage per second for 10 seconds.]

[Requirement: Have Hands]

[Tag: Although old it's better than trash.]

Han was really happy with this weapon. It was way better than that rusty pipe in terms of damage and special effect on it was pretty decent.

[Item: Leather Gloves] (Type: Equipment)

[Rarity: Normal] (Durability: 30/32)

[DEF: 1]

[Special Effect: 15% increase in hand speed and tighter grip.]

[Requirement: Have Hands]

[Tag: Stylish gloves that give the wearer a bad boy vibe.]

Everything on this was nice but the tag was a little strange. Han then looked on at the last item.

[Item: X1 Credit Card] (Type: Storage)

[Balance: 256 Credits]

[Account Info: XXXXXX]

Han couldn't help but feel a slight bewilderment. When he looked at the balance he then turned and looked at the bandit leaders corpse.

'Aren't you a little too poor?' He questioned. He remembered that they had just robbed someone, how come they only had this much then.

Han couldn't help but sigh. He then put on the gloves and put the switchblade in his pocket with the batteries. He walked over to the water bottles and rusty pipe.

'Although I don't want to use the pipe I also don't want to waste my switchblades durability on unless things.' Thinking this Han had a rusty pipe in one hand and his water bottles on the other.

'I better get out of here before the rest of them show up.' He thought. He used his map to quickly find a route that would allow him to sneak out of the city without the others finding him.

He quickly ran off. He followed his route and in 25 minutes he managed to make his way out of the city. He looked at the barren land around him. The sky was still dark as clouds covered it. Only small rays of light could be seen every so often. The air seemed to be polluted.

...

Han walked for awhile on the highway. He also checked out his map every so often to make sure he was heading towards the right area.

'I'm in the Region Wasteland #6. On city W21, I need to make it to the nearest safety zone which is city W31.' Thinking about this Han couldn't help but want to cry. In this game the Regions are separated by their conditions.

Meaning there were 5 other regions that were wastelands since he was in the 6th wasteland region. There were other regions like Mountain Valleys, Ocean Coast, Underground, and etc. Each of these places had their own cities. All of their cities were numbered from 1 to 100. The alphabet was the first letter of the region they were in.

By the way each city was put in order by number meaning that city number 20 would be right next to 21 then 21 would be right next to 22. Because of this ordering Han now had to walk from city W21 to W31, that was 10 cities before he arrived at his destination.

Multiple hours went by as Han kept walking towards city W22. Han was lucky that players would only lose 1 stamina per hour for any activity that wasn't a skill that consumed stamina.

In 4 hours Han made it to the entrance gate of city W22. He looked at the city and noticed that it was slightly in better shape than city W21.

'Maybe I can find some better stuff here.' Han got his hopes up praying that it had some good stuff for him. But as he walked towards the gate of the city he saw group of people squating next to the gate. They seemed to be waiting for someone.

They were staring off to space when the spotted Han walking towards them. One of them quickly stood up and whispered something to one of the other guys.

While they did this Han was checking them out and assessing whether they would be a problem or not. He thought for a moment before he decided to walk up to them.

Honestly they seemed to be similar to thugs but the vibes they gave off was different from the bandit leader. The bandit leader had a good amount of killing intent from murdering other humans. But when Han looked at those guys he could feel almost nothing from them.

'Besides, I got my innate talent skill effect one hit one kill.' Han thought. After killing the bandit leader he had more confidence especially when he saw his innate talents special effects.

While it was good for him to have some confidence right now Han had reach the level of arrogant. Thinking to himself that he could totally take on all 5 of those guys. Although he was stronger than the average player he was still shockley weak in terms of fighting verses any of these npcs.

The only reason Han won the last fight was because he had gotten lucky. When Han had dodged the bandit leaders first attack his balance was thrown off, while the switchblade on the bandit leaders hand had missed Han's eyes but the switchblade was right next to Han's neck when he had lost balance. Meaning if the bandit leader wanted to he could have stabbed Han right in the neck and dealt enough damage to one shot Han. But because he thought Han was trying to bait him into a trap he went for the shoulder which was closer than the neck.

The bandit leader had thought that once he stabbed him on the shoulder the nerves on that side of his body would stop working or be paralyzed from the pain. But because Han was a player he only felt it for a split second before he could control his body. With that moment where the bandit leader had thought he had won Han was able to pin his wrist which caused the bandit leader to be surprised and gave Han enough time to hit him on the side. Causing his quick death.

If Han were to fight this group right now he would get his ass beat.

"Stop! Who are you and what are you doing here?" One of the guys shouted at Han. He scanned Han up and down looking at his dirty clothing that most refugees wore.

"Uh, my city was attacked by bandits so I ran away hoping to find a safe place here." Saying so Han showed them the wound on his shoulder. His life points had regenerated a little but the wounds were still there.

When they saw his wounds their faces grew a little bit dark. Two of them looked at each other before signaling something. One of them walked into the city while another walked up to Han.

"Sorry to hear your city got attacked. Those damn bandits are all crazy. Humanity is barely fighting against the monsters and they want to lower our populations." Saying so one of the guys took out a medical kit and slowly patched up the wound on Han's shoulder.

Hearing what he just said caused Han to show a bitter smile. 'Why did I have to meet up with bandits and not these guys, that was quite unlucky.' he thought.

"Please wait here, the boss will soon be coming to help you find a place to stay." One of the other members said. They looked at Han with pity as they seemed to remember something about their past.

"Do you have any family?" One of them asked Han.

"No, they died when I was young." Han quickly replied.

"I'm sorry I brought that up." One of them said as they looked at the dark skies.

"It's ok I was too young back then so I can't even remember their faces now." Han looked at the guy and gave him a hollow smile. The expression and body language all showed the emptiness and loneliness that Han had suffered during his childhood.

Obviously this was all an act. Han wanted to make sure that they didn't ask him too many questions so he gave out an impression of someone who had experienced great trama in his past and didn't want to talk about it.

"..."

They stood there in silence as no one knew what to say to Han. In the end they decided to just wait till their boss came by.

"So are you the refugee?" A voice came out from someone who was behind Han. He instantly understood that this person was their boss. The tone and voice reminded him of one of the interviews of the CEO of this games company.

Han turned around and looked on at the person in front of him. A valiant aura radiated from them. They were female. Had short red hair and eyes that showed passion that burned as bright as the starry night. Their height was slightly shorter than Han. They wore a black tank top that showed of their nicely developed chest and they were military style camo pants with military boots. The exposed arms showed a small amount of tan and well defined muscles. They were muscular but not so much that it caused her arms to look like a lump of muscles but instead a proportional look.

Seeing their boss Han couldn't help but fully remember the interview. During one of the interviews one of the reporters asked about something quite important.

"If the game is in an apocalyptic setting, how will the females be treated. Well all know well that in usual apocalyptic scenarios the females would usually be ..." Before the reporter could finish the CEO snatched his mic.

"Male players out there, this is a warning from me the CEO, if you meet a female in the game, you better not mess with them." Saying this the CEO then left the interview not wanting to answer anymore questions.

After this a formal statement by the developers were given out.

"Hello gamers we the Happy Star Company would like to inform you that female npcs would be far stronger in this game than male npcs along with this we would like to let you know that that worlds logic states that females are the strong and domante ones please accept this view and enjoy the game."

Some of the male gamers were outraged saying it wasn't fair that the females were stronger. But after the company uploaded a video about this issue. All the haters became silent.

Turns out all the members who had worked on the game and including the CEO of the company were all females. After this the complaints stopped and everything became peaceful again.

As for Han and his opinion in all of it. When he heard the news he just shrugged his shoulder. It was no different for him either way. So he basically gave it not thought.

"Yes I am please to meet you." Saying so Han gestured for a handshake. The boss looked at his hand for a moment before receiving his handshake.

"Well nice to meet you my name is Amanda, what's yours?" When she asked his Han's paused for a moment. He thought about before bluntering out his real name.

"Names Han." He answered.

"Well Han I would like to ask you something important." She said. Her voice was neither low or high and had a soothing sound to it.

"You have killed someone before." All of a sudden her voice became extremely low.
