The pack grounds have never been so quiet, as we stood waiting, the sound of raindrops hitting the ground being the only audible sound. Even in the dead of night, the grounds were never this quiet, with lovers sneaking away from their parents and children running out of their homes to avoid being put to bed. The sky was nothing but a grey canvas, empty and dull, there was nothing beautiful about it today.

I stood with the rest of the pack as we waited for the bodies of our dead to be brought out. Today would be our last goodbye to them before we sent them away to our ancestors, away from all the pain and suffering of life. We lined the entrance of the stronghold, where the bodies were being prepared, the entire pack stood as one to pay their last respects to these brave warriors.
