Aurora stared at Azrael, her eyes lingering on the shadows playing on his face. There was a hint of sadness in his eyes, as if he were remembering something from a long time ago. Though he wore a smile, it didn't quite reach his eyes. It made her wonder how he truly became a vampire, but at the same time, she had to respect his wishes.

"You must have lived through so much," she mused, her voice barely a whisper. "That must have been difficult, to feel so alone."

Azrael gave a small shrug. "It is what it is," he muttered, his gaze shifting to meet hers. "But you learn to get used to it." He watched as she stared at him, her eyes now filled with curiosity. She was clearly eager to know more, but at the same time, the fiery intensity in her gaze had disappeared, replaced by a sense of remorse. He sensed a shift in her demeanor. She was nervous, perhaps still afraid of him.

Her lips parted as she tried to find the words. "Still…"
