Chapter 125

"Azrael," she called out, her voice shaky. He looked at her, and she found the courage to say, "I think that's enough."

Respecting her words, Azrael withdrew, retracting his canines from her delicate skin. The intense connection that had momentarily consumed them began to subside.

He leaned back slightly, his eyes closed as he tried to regain control of himself. "I am sorry," he said, the words coming out in a rush, and he opened his eyes to look at her.

Aurora was gasping for her breath, her limbs shaking. She felt as if she had just been through a war, and she wasn't sure if it was the battle or the aftermath that was worse. "You didn't hurt me," she said. "I think I am just feeling a bit overwhelmed right now. Can we stop for a moment?"

"Of course," he said, his tone gentle. He extended his hands toward her, offering support as she eased down from the table. With her safely down, he withdrew further, giving Aurora space.
