chapter 18- found out

[3 pm: anti-personnel training ]

Wednesday's theory class ended and the anti-personnel training began. and without any second to spare another drama revolving around chae nayun and hajin started....

"Hey!. Spar with me." - Chae Nayun ordered hajin as she was glaring at him with terrifying eyes.

"...."- hajin was silent. he was probably monologuing about what to do. just like me....

"Your gun. Take it out." - nayun said as she pointed as hajin's gun.

"I don't want to."

"...You scared?"

at this point everyone's eyes fell on these two. It carried a great echo.

"Mm... No. I'm afraid you might get hurt. This thing uses real bullets, you see."

chae nayun was angry, really angry. she clenched her bow so hard that her veins were popping out of her hand.

"I don't think your bullets will hurt me even if they hit."- chae nayun retorted with a cold sneer as she forcefully suppressed her anger.

"You won't get hurt. You'll die instead."

"...Ha, say that again, punk."

why the punk at the end?, you're not a gangster chae nayun. Mmm maybe you are?

"Really, who do you think you are?"

The atmosphere turned more worse and worse. Many spectators whispered to each other and gathered to watch the fight. 

"Chae Nayun, get back."

At that moment the instructer stepped in and hajin breathed a sigh of relief.

many people got excited so they started getting close which was blocking my view. so I tried to get closer.

I shouldn't have done that. 

"Why should I?"

"Before he gets a gun for sparring, no one can spar with Kim Hajin cadet."

"But I don't mind."

"I mind."

"Why—"

"Failure to heed an instructor's order will be met with disciplinary action."

"..."

the instructor and chae anyun argued with each other but the instructor, who had more authority came out to be the victor.

An instructor's words were absolute. Chae Nayun clenched her teeth with a wronged look. But in the end, she gave hajin a final glare before leaving. The spectators also dispersed and went back to their training.

I also started to leave. everything had returned to normal... or not?

Chae nayun saw a glimpse of me. well, it's just a glimpse right?. wrong. Anyone who reads novel's extra knows that chae nayun is a sharpshooter, and sharpshooters have great eyesight. so basically, I'm in trouble.

chae nayun didn't waste a second in recognizing me and running towards me.

I tried to run away the moment I noticed that she saw me and, I almost succeeded but of course, it's just not my day, not that it ever is.

I should really grab some of hajin's luck because someone just came in front of me and bumped into me as I was running from chae nayun.

I was about to fall with my face to the ground. If i fell like that, my nose could've broke so, I turned quickly and fell on my back instead.

Chae nayun who was also running at high speed, couldn't slow down and tripped on me. Well, not ON me but beside me.

Ouch, she fell flat on her face, that must've hurt.

"are you ok, arin? I'm sorry I didn't mean to bump into you. I was actually searching for you."

"It's fine paine." I said to paine, my partner, aka the person who bumped into me.

"lets just help her up." I continued, as I looked towards chae nayun.

I tried to help chae nayun by lending my hand forward but, she brushed it off with a very angry and irritated face, which was very much like chae nayun.

She stood up suddenly and started blabbering about how hard she would make my life.

"How dare you follow me around!!. You stalker!!, do you know who i am??. fight me!!!. I'll kill you."

and much more. she's really childish. we bump into each other once somewhere in a public place and she thinks that i'm a stalker who's stalking her. 

"hey!!!. are you ignoring me now!!!. who do you think you are??." she said as she increased her voice.

Many people started looking at us. It was just like a few minutes ago when everyone was staring at hajin and chae nayun arguing. Except the situation is reversed now. They're staring at me and chae nayun arguing.

Actually, we're not even arguing. It's just that chae nayun picking a fight with me!!!. being the sensible kid I am, I cut chae nayun's complaints mid-way and spoke up.

"I'm really sorry chae nayun-ssi!~ why don't we talk somewhere a bit more....quiet?~I'm sure an elegant lady like you wouldn't want any distractions to our important talk."

I said as I gave a chae nayun a small smile. Why does it feel like I've said it the wrong way. Chae nayun didn't seem to like what i said as she tried to say something in an angry voice.

but before she could say anything, I grabbed her hand and left the place as I apologized to Paine for this mess. 

"It's fine....." said paine with a disappointed face.

I should have apologized more. but I left hurriedly pulling chae nayun with me. I was rushing with my back to him, perhaps that's why i didn't notice that, hajin was staring at us. specifically me.

A warm and gentle breeze rustled the leaves on the tree nearby. Birds chirping and squirrels squeaking, these two sounds could be heard very clearly along with some other.

The weather was lukewarm. It was pretty windy but, the bright yet warm sun gave this feeling of pleasantness, if that even is a word. It was a perfect day to go on a picnic, lie down on some grass and just close your eyes while enjoying it.

"....you listening??"

Such a nice day and here I am spending it with chae nayun by arguing, instead of sleeping in some soft and pleasant grass.

"HEY!!!, Are you ignoring me??"

*sigh*

"what do you want chae nayun?"

"Haaah?, you're the one who pulled me to the side and you're asking me what I want?"

"Get to the point"- I said coldly, I missed half of the anti-personnel training class, and I have no intention to go back there. I just wanna sit in a bench and rest my eyes for a few seconds.

"where did all the respect you had before go?"- chae nayun retorted with a mocking expresssion.

"....Just ask what you want and get over with it."- I don't hate chae nayun but, dealing with her is just too annoying. especially when she's still in her baby phase.

"good! first of all, why are you stalking me!. you should know that I won't accept you even if you stalk me!!."- said chae nayun with a pitiful and proud look.

"accept me? stalking you? what are you even talking about???."

"Don't play dumb!!, I know you stalked me because you love me!"

why in the world did this dumb girl even think like that??? i don't like gir- oh right, I'm pretending to be a guy now... even so! who even implemented this idea in her???. she's so dense that she doesn't even realize that 'the white head' (shin jonghak) likes her. same with others. so what even made her think about it.

"who told you that?"- I asked her with an angry voice and a disgusted face.

"why should I tell you???"

"Just because. Its better if you answer or, you won't get any answers to your questions."

"Heh, I can just beat you up and know about it myself!"

she's really testing my patience. I don't get how hajin handled her. why does she have to behave like that dumb brother of mine.

"are you sure you can beat me up?"- I said with a mocking face and voice. I released some concentrated mana and aura around me and chae nayun. unfortunately it didn't work. heck she didn't even feel anything!. 

I was a bit surprised. I often used this method, it always worked so why is it not working on her. i had many possible theories but, It's not the time for that now.

"You!!! why do so many dumb pests think they're better than me??"

by dumb pests i think she means, hajin and me.

"look, just tell me who told you that, 'I might be stalking you'. Just answer that question and everything will be solved. I'll even answer you're questions!!"

"hmph, I don't care. Keep your answers to yourself, I know the truth anyway!."- said chae nayun before stomping off with a grumpy face.
