Strong and Independent Woman

Wang Fang sat quietly in the backseat of the car, her arms crossed and her expression sour. She couldn't believe what she had just heard. Pan An, her friend and colleague, was engaged to be married...to her. She didn't even know how to react.

"So when was this planned?" she asked, breaking the silence in the car.

"It was about a month ago," her mother replied, turning around to face her daughter. "We wanted to surprise you, dear."

"Why would you keep something like this from me?" Wang Fang snapped back. "You know I don't want to get married."

Her father, Shufeng, spoke up. "I'm sorry, Wang Fang. Your mother thought it would be a good idea to surprise you, but I should have spoken up. We should have told you sooner."

Wang Fang huffed, still feeling frustrated. "And now what? What am I supposed to do?"
