She raised herself from the wolf and smiled at him. He expected her smile to be cold and not reach her eyes. He was wrong. What he saw in her eyes was a joy. She was enjoying this moment when a bunch of men were dying in her hands.
He should have underestimated the leading clan. They shouldn't have. The people who offered them money to finish these brats were crazy. They told them it wouldn't be hard. They were inexperienced, they were told. They were all wrong. The way they just attacked without giving them a chance to breathe was more than experienced.
He didn't even want to know what these kids had been through to become like this.
"You... heal us. I tell... you..." The moment Iris heard that, she smiled wider.
"Perfect." Her hand removed a white wave of lights that lasted for about two seconds. She then moved to other wolves and healed them one by one with disgusting. "All done."
The wolf was skeptical at first but, he could no longer feel the burning sensation on his skin so, he believed her. No one seemed to be conscious apart from him. They needed the power to heal and, that was the best way.
"Okay. Start your story." Castor squatted near the man. If anything happens, he was ready for the venom.
"A group of shifters approached us about a week ago. They offered us a lot of money. They told us to either get you alive or dead. If we brought you alive, the better and more money."
"Who were the shifters?" Rin, who was leaning on the wall, asked.
"Their faces were blurred." The wolf shook his head. When he tried to remember, the voices were covered in smog. Even their voice was fading away from his memory.
Rin didn't need to ask if their voice was blurred or their body features. It was the work of dark witches or warlocks.
"How many were there?" So he asked a question that wouldn't be interfered with by magic.
"Ten." The man replied. There was still a chance where if he gave false information, they would know somehow and kill him.
"Where did that happen?" Kai approached the man and asked him with cold eyes. He didn't intend to hide what he was feeling. These motherf*ckers attacked them and hurt his sweet sister.
"He!" The man froze in fear from the sight of Kai.
"Answer his question, darling. My patience is running out." Iris told the wolf.
The man recovered from the shock and could feel the sweat running down his spine. He wasn't going to risk his life trying to see what happen when she lost her patience. Better not test it.
"At a bar next city."
"Name?" Kai widened his eyes and tilted his head without blinking.
"Bar Apate." The man almost backed off if it wasn't for the assassin girl standing behind him. God knows what happens if he touched her.
"What is in the injection?" Bia asked next.
"We were given by them. We don't know what's in there. We were told to inject them into you." There was another crazy girl, he can feel it. But this girl was different from the girl behind him. If they let her, she would kill him without wasting a second or, hesitating. That was what he was getting from her.
"Useless." Bia tsked and mumbled.
"I'm sorry." He apologised in a second.
"You said if you brought us back alive to them, the more money you'll get, huh?" Rin asked and, the wolf nodded furiously. "Where was that supposed to happen?"
"We were supposed to send a signal when we captured you. Then, they would tell us where the transaction would occur."
"What kind of signal?" He further asked. He had a bad feeling about this.
"This." The wolf searched his jacket's inner pocket and brought out an amulet. The amulet was bronze and was no more than the size of his palm. It was glowing in red and, that wasn't a good sign.
Pollux jumped to his sister and, when he caught her in his arms, he heard felt the explosion behind him.
Kai and Jin had run to the two girls behind them as the explosion occurred.
Iris grunted when she landed on the ground with her back, hard. She didn't resist her brother because she knew he was protecting her from something that was happening to the stupid wolf.
The four, Alek, Bia, Kai and Castor, saw what happened to the wolf. The moment he showed them the amulet, the red glow pierced him everywhere and, the wolf was instantly dead without knowing what happened.
Alek gasped and put her hands over her mouth. She had never witnessed this kind of sight. She had seen broken bones and blood but, this was the next level. She noticed that Bia had her eyes open while she could see that Castor was grunting from the sight.
When Rin and Iris woke up, they saw blood and the wolf falling to the ground with his face first. They stood up to get a better look at what happened and saw that the amulet was still glowing in blood red.
"Run!!" Alek had a bad feeling about it and, she shouted.
The group didn't understand why she said that but ran further away from the werewolves. They were constantly looking back as they ran and, that was when they saw the glowing amulet floating in the air. It glowed a little more before spiking the ground and looking like chestnuts shell, burr. If it wasn't for Alek, they would have been pierced like the wolves lying on the ground.
They stopped running when they were sure the amulet couldn't and wouldn't reach them. The red spears pierced all six wolves and ended their lives within seconds. They didn't even have time to grunt.
When the amulet was sure that the wolves were dead, it retracted the spears and shook violently until it was shattered into small pieces. The pieces were scattered everywhere and stayed there as it was pierced by force.
"What do we do?" Iris asked. If they left the bodies like this, humans would surely discover this and call the police, which would cause a lot of commotion and trouble. Someone could connect them and the wolves. Plus, one of the pieces of the amulet pierced the giant fan of the mall and made a creaking sound as well as white smoke. They were sure humans would be here soon to check out the problem.
No one answered her question. They didn't want to get their parents involved in this. This was the s*it they caused.
After a minute of thinking, Rin brought out his phone from his pocket with a grave expression. He went to contacts and chose the number he wasn't a fan of.
He took a deep breath and released and dialled the number. He wanted her to pick up the phone but hoped the opposite at the same time.
"Hi, my baby! What's the problem? Its rare for you to call me!" The woman on the other line of the phone was happy but, her voice had a hint of worriedness and seriousness.
"Hi, grandma Vibi." When Rin spoke her name, they all had their eyes wide, especially his siblings. They didn't expect him to call grandma of Mutsuki. They actually thought he would call Papa Mutsuki for help with this situation. Of course, mama Mutsuki was a little chatty than her husband but, Johan was also a fancy grandpa. That was where Lake got his goofiness. "We need your help."
"What is it, baby?"
--------
"Thank you, grandma." Jin told his grandmother. "You have saved our lives."
"No need to thank me, my baby." Vibia cupped her grandson's face.
When Rin explained what kind of situation they were in, Vibia came to the location in less than thirty minutes with several guards. She was surprised by the situation but handled it by disposing of the bodies of the dead werewolves and erasing the evidence by wiping camera records and people's memory with a witch she brought.
The guards of Mutsuki cleaned the scene and collected every piece of amulet while wiping the blood.
"You are going to come with us." Vibia told them with dominance and left no room for denying the order.
Most of the guards left the scene by a witch, creating portals and sending them to different points.
"You are new." Jin noticed the witch that their grandmother brought was young. If she was an experienced witch, she could have opened a portal leading to here by just hearing the place or thinking about who she was trying to connect to.
"Yes, sir. I have been working with my lady for over a six months." The witch had red hair with cute freckles around her cheeks. She didn't dare to look into the next head's eyes and focused on the road she was walking. She was blushing furiously because she didn't know the next head was THIS hot. She had heard rumours back home when she was working with the young girls and witches that work for Mutsuki about the twins of Mutsuki. And they said they wished to be their mates. She didn't really care about the rumour because someone like her would never be able to talk to him or get his attention. She never in a thousand years be appointed to the personal witch for the lay Mutsuki and help her with her work.
"I am Jin but I'm guessing you already know. Your name?" Jin asked.
"Destiny, sir." She whispered her name. He was HOTT. Smacking Hot! Why didn't she come with makeup and better clothes?
Rin, who was watching this from behind, was somehow feeling pricky seeing his brother and a new witch talk. He didn't understand why he was feeling like that but he knew he didn't like anything about that.
