Sky Profound Sect. It's a low ranking Sect that has exactly more than a few centuries of history accumulating knowledge in Martial arts and rediscovering information about the Golden Era and Great Devastation Era allowing them to create the sect.

Being the one who gains this knowledge would mean they have the right to use it and not reveal the information unless given the appropriate compensation.

Though, they may be low ranking doesn't mean their sect is weak far from it. Among the low ranking sect surrounding the Region of the Misty Boundary Mountains place them relatively high.

If comparing them to other sects then from weakest to strongest would be Hidden Mist Sect, Trampling Sky Sect, Sky Profound Sect and finally Purple Jade Sect.

With this in mind, it wasn't strange for their ego to inflate and arrogance consume their mind and heart. Their elders comprise Peak Essence Awakening while their Patriarch was currently at the peak Early stage of Earthly Essence.

However arrogant they may be, none of them were completely brainless and the reason why Wang Jie currently unfazed from what had conspired.

He knew that someone as important as Zhen Shi wouldn't be in public without a bodyguard because he was their rising star and losing him meant they had wasted their resources.

They understand that his arrogance would one day face someone far out of his league, therefore had a bodyguard to protect him if needed.

'This young man isn't simple!'

Elder Kai was a step away in becoming an Early stage of Earthly Essence and could even fight them relatively well due to his martial arts.

His essence was the shadow and stealth giving him unparalleled ability to blend in the environment and kill people without them realizing. He may not be physically strong and can be defeated in all out brawl but would win in speed and skills.

However, Elder Kai had been observing everything when he noticed the young man who boldly confronted his young master without any hesitation nor fear. He was calm as the sea and as clear as the azure sky.

Elder Kai sensed he was mortal yet his instinct that he had sharpened through life and death battle allowed him to know that his chances of winning were slim.

Even if he survived would result in losing an arm or leg. He can't help but feel like his hands had string and he was merely a puppet under control.

'Not to mention those two women! They had it well but it's clear they're not mortal women!'

He shouted in his heart feeling intense fear since he was the strongest or rather most capable next to their patriarch but victory was far too distant and attainable whenever he tried to imagine fighting the young man or the woman with him.

How can there be an expert in this remote city?

These thoughts run through his mind thinking how this mistake could lead to the destruction of their sect. A single Peak Late stage Earthly Essence Realm could easily wipe their sect while Heavenly Essence was simply courting death!

'How unlucky! If only we weren't too lenient and arrogant then this wouldn't happen!'

He cursed his young master and their foolishness for provoking such a character. On the other hand, Wang Jie easily discerns the feelings of the old man in front of him.

"Apologies for my young master's behavior! He is young and immature!" Elder Kai Kowtow trying to save his young master from being killed by throwing away his pride!

Zhen Shi and the people around them were flabbergasted at the sight of an expert lowering themselves towards a mortal!

They thought the young man was not simple and shouldn't be provoked while Yan Fei was relieved that Wang Jie was safe and wondered who he was exactly.

"What's all the commotion?"

A voice came out and Yan Fei turned to face a stunning woman with delicate and breathtaking beauty having youthful proportions in her womanly areas having an identical face as Yan Fei but had more mature and experienced demeanors around her.

"Mom!"

It was Yan Fei's mother, Yan Yingyue who walked over to her daughter who began to explain what had happened, shocking the older woman.

Meanwhile, Zhen Shi was visibly distressed upon seeing his sect elder asking a mortal for forgiveness. He never would imagine his elder would lower himself towards a mortal.

"Elder Kai!? Why are you apo—"

Before he could utter the next words receive a glare from the old man and suddenly was forced to kowtow slamming his head into the wooden floor with enough force to crack it.

This didn't hurt Zhen Shi the slightest but his pride received a fatal blow. He can't accept everything that was happening.

"Unhand me Elder Kai! How dare you make me kowtow in front of a lowly mortal!" Zhen Shi shouted in anger and frustration while his head sunk deeper into the floor.

"Silence! Forgive him, he's just an ignorant child." Elder Kai is desperate trying not to escalate the situation any further while Wang Jie remains silent from all the commotion looking down at the two.

'Peaceful and humble life seems to never going to happen but this is fine I guess.'

Wang Jie wanted to keep a low profile until he saved enough strength and influence to combat the enemies that he had accumulated over the years. Even kind people would also gain enemies regardless of what they do.

"...Why are you apologizing, senior? You did nothing wrong?" His words gave the old man a peace of mind thinking his young master was forgiven but it was instantly shattered by his next words.

"That young man is at fault. He should be the one apologizing for spoiling the mood and harassing helpless civilians. How do you expect to compensate for everything that he had done?"

Wang Jie showed his merciless side by putting away his kind demeanor. Zhang Mei and Liu Ying were enjoying the spectacle as they always loved how cruel their young master and husband can be when he needs to be.

Cold sweat drench his body from the simple words that he spoke. He did not raise his voice and remained monotone but felt as if his neck had noose tied securely around his neck.

"Ah yes! Young master! Apologize!" Elder Kai forces Zhen Shi to speak as he glaring at Wang Jie.

"I have enough of this! I am Zhen Shi! Young master and future of Sky Profound Sect! I refuse to lower myself towards a mortal!"

He was delusional having been poisoned by vanity and Wang Jie only looked down in pity rather than hate seeing how he could have been higher if he wasn't too conceited. Elder Kai swallowed bitterly realizing that their words of praise had completely blinded their young master.

"...tell me why do you bully the weak and the helpless?" Wang Jie spoke while Zhen Shi immediately answered.

"Because I am strong and they are meant to die by our hands! It's a privilege for them to die from someone like me."

It was the survival of the fittest where strong prey on the weak!

Wang Jie narrowed his eyes and always agreed with the sentiment of this strong trampling on the weak. However, he believed that to truly become strong is to know when to unsheathed their blade and strong enough to be kind.

Without kindness then everyone would fall into anarchy and chaos. Wang Jie understood that he was using his own moral standard in a world vastly different from his but he refused to be changed by the world and would persevere in what he believed in.

"Then if someone stronger than you comes along then it would be fun if you die by their hands?"

These words strike into the hearts of the elder and was about to speak but unable to feel someone was stopping him. Zhen Shi instantly felt indescribable fear gnawing his heart and felt his entire body was being consumed.

'W-What's going on!?' Zhen Shi thought as he looked at Wang Jie who stepped forward inches away from the braindead young master.

"Don't look down on mortals. They may have more potential than you do." Wang Jie said then released his killing intents towards him.

"I was being reasonable until you decided to try and kill me. If I was a simple man then you wouldn't bat an eye. You are simply trying to save yourself and do not truly feel any ounce of remorse."

He said before raising his legs casting shadow over the face of the young master and slammed his feet into Zhen Shi shattered the wooden floor and caused push back the air around them while Elder Kai could only watch in horror.
