Just as the two brothers were messing around, a phone suddenly started vibrating from inside Old Five's gear bag.
All three brothers paused, startled. Old Three quickly stood up, while Old Five, gasping for breath as if pardoned from punishment, started rummaging through the bag, pulling out a pile of phones.
These phones belonged to the gunmen. Since their computer had been damaged, the hacker, like a sniper without a gun or a poet without a pen, had no choice but to collect all the phones to try and extract any useful information later when they had access to a backup computer.
After pulling out the vibrating phone, Old Five hurriedly handed it to Chu Yuxuan. Seeing an unknown number on the screen, Chu Yuxuan quickly took out his phone, turned on the recording feature, then answered the call on speaker, waiting silently for the caller to speak.
There was an eerie silence on the other end. About seven or eight seconds passed before a middle-aged man's sigh came through: "Young Master Chu?"
Chu Yuxuan frowned slightly and calmly asked, "Who are you?"
"That's not important, heh heh..." The man chuckled sinisterly, "Enjoying the game we're playing?"
Chu Yuxuan tightened his grip on the phone, his tone betraying no emotion. "Just killed a bunch of stray dogs. Nothing special."
"I really underestimated you, brat... Not only are you hard to kill, but you're also quite capable! When you returned to the country, I should have taken care of you right then."
"Too bad," Chu Yuxuan replied with a smile. "You probably won't get another chance. You should worry about yourself. If I find you, I'll send your whole family to hell. Not even your dog will be spared."
The man sneered coldly, "Let me give you some advice—stop looking for me. Whether you find me or not is uncertain, but I know who you are, who your family is, and even about your beautiful wife… heh heh. Right now, I have no interest in you, but if you provoke me again, everyone around you will suffer a fate worse than death!"
"You think I care?" Chu Yuxuan scoffed. "My so-called family? Do what you want with them. I've got plenty of women, and to be honest, you and your group are the only ones who interest me. You better take care of yourselves, at least until I find you all. Don't die too soon."
"Well, take your time looking. Have fun with that, heh heh... Just a heads-up: don't expect to get anything from the people I sent. They're just disposable thugs. I don't need them anymore. Do whatever you want, but when you're done, do me a favor and kill them for me. They're just a waste of air."
"No need for your reminders. I wasn't planning on keeping them alive," Chu Yuxuan said casually.
"Oh?" the man raised an eyebrow. "Sounds like you still have someone to rely on. Liu Jun, perhaps? Ha ha ha... Do you think I'm an idiot? He's probably already dead, right? If you could get anything out of him, you wouldn't have gone through all this trouble to lure us out."
"Guess again," Chu Yuxuan taunted.
At this moment, Chu Yuxuan was certain that the real reason the caller reached out was to find out Liu Jun's status. After all, the drone had clearly captured Liu Jun's face.
Sure enough, the man fell silent.
After a brief pause, he laughed indifferently, "Doesn't matter. Even if Liu Jun is alive, he wouldn't talk. Sending people to eliminate him was just an insurance policy. You're wasting your time trying. Just heed my advice, live your wealthy life peacefully. Life is short, don't tempt fate, heh heh."
"Since ancient times, countless cruel tortures have been invented. How long do you think Liu Jun can hold out?" Chu Yuxuan teased. "I've got plenty of time to deal with him, no rush. But tell me, why didn't you just kill him back then? Leaving a ticking time bomb like that... it's karma, or maybe fate giving me a chance!"
The man snorted, "Why don't you ask Liu Jun yourself, if he'll tell you? Hmph!"
With that, he hung up the phone.
Chu Yuxuan took a deep breath. After thinking for a moment, he tried calling back, but the number was already out of service.
Old Five's face turned serious, "It was a disposable number, to avoid being tracked."
"D*mn it! If he were standing in front of me right now, I'd tear him to pieces!" Old Three cursed furiously.
Chu Yuxuan tossed the phone back to Old Five and walked into the factory, playing the recording for everyone.
When they heard phrases like "a bunch of disposable thugs" and "I don't need them anymore," the captured gunmen exchanged glances, their expressions growing more complex.
Chu Yuxuan said nothing, and Old Four continued with his work.
As time passed, the psychological pressure began to wear on the gunmen, making them visibly uneasy.
Suddenly, Old Four stood up abruptly and said, "Boss, they all have the same tattoo."
Chu Yuxuan leaned in and saw that both bodies on the ground had a small spade tattoo on their chests, like the ones from playing cards.
Frowning, Chu Yuxuan brought his phone closer to inspect it. In the center of the spade design, there was a half-open, blood-red eye that looked like a snake's eye.
"Seems like they're part of an organization..." Chu Yuxuan muttered, then turned to inspect the remaining captives. Every single one of them had the same tattoo on their chest.
"Spade Gang?" Old Three scratched his head.
Old Five shot him a look. "You hillbilly... 'Spade Organization' sounds better."
Old Four blinked and seriously chimed in, "Why not 'Heart-Eye Clan'?"
Chu Yuxuan glanced at the three of them with a deadpan expression even more serious than Old Four's. "I'm guessing it's the 'Spade-Poker-Eye Society.'"
"Hahaha…" The three of them burst into laughter, while Old Four only smiled inwardly, unable to show it on his face.
The gunmen, now watching this exchange, began to look even more uncomfortable. Finally, one of them stammered, "It's… it's the Tianji Association!"
