Therapy

"Tonight was an amazing date night". Catherine says "Ya it was." Jacob said. "We have one more stop". "Where are we going". Catherine says. "It's a surprise". As the Light turned green and they moved along with traffic, then suddenly a car honks their horn. "Noooo"! Jacob yelled as he wakes up all sweaty reaching out his arms. "Jacob!? Are you alright"? Faith asked.

"Ya, just a nightmare". Jacob says panting. They go back to sleep.

The same morning Jacob is eating cereal before getting ready for work. "You need to see a therapist, your night terrors are getting worse". Faith says worryingly. "I don't want to see a therapist". Jacob says. "Why not? Is it really that hard"? She asked. "We've talked about this already, you know it's hard for me to talk about what happened that day". Jacob says. "Just." Faith clenches her first with an angry face. "One time, at least one time"! She yells. Knowing her angry side Jacob finally makes an appointment to see a therapist.

One week later. Jacob is laying on a futon talking to his therapist name Ken. "You don't have to worry Jacob. Anything you say here, unless admitting to abuse of any kind, will not be shared. It will stay in this room. Jacob looks around and sees no windows, no computers, only some bean bags, snacks, and a bowl of stress balls on the night stand next to the futon Jacob is laying down on. He loosens up and starts talking.

"It was the night I was going to propose to her. Almost two years ago in December, we were driving after date night. I was going to bring her to an ice skating ring that I reserved for us, and propose to her listening to our favorite song". Jacob says. "What was her name"? Ken asked. "Her name was Catherine. She was so beautiful. Our favorite song was a terrible one too, but we were listening to it the first day we met, so we listened to it on our anniversary days. But on our way there I wasn't paying attention. After the light turned green I went with our looking around, and a car crashed into the passenger seat. Next thing I knew we were upside down and she was unconscious. The ambulance arrived and got her to the hospital. The day after that i found out she was put on life support. After I got checked out to go home I visited her right away. She had a cast on her arm and a neck brace. And my last words to her was 'I love you' then her heart rate dropped. The doctors did everything they could but she was pronounced dead". "How did you deal with the loss"? Ken asked. "I shut myself in my room, quit my job and pushed everyone away". Jacob said. "It said on your form that you are married. Is there a new person in your life"? He asked. "She was the one who brought me back on my feet. Faith, my childhood best friend". Jacob says. "And is it safe to assume that you love her"? Ken asked. Jacob looked away, "y-yes". Ken leaned in and asked, "yes what"? "ye-." Jacob pauses and looks at the ceiling for a moment. "I don't know". Jacob says. "What do you think these feelings are"? Ken asked. "Every time I look at her I smile, but then I get sad because I start thinking of Catherine, and I start spending less time with her. It's been 8 months since we had sex. and it was the night we got married. And not to mention my working hours". "You work all day for six days and have a day off Saturday. When was the last time you had a vacation"? Ken asked. "Actually I should have two weeks off next month". Jacob said. "Ok, maybe you should try to spend that vacation with her. put more time and effort in her". Ken suggested. "Well I didn't come here to resolve my marriage problem, I came here to resolve my night terrors". Jacob said with an angry face. "Night terrors about the night she died"? Ken asked. "Yeah". "I'll give you the same suggestion, Spend more time with Faith, don't try to forget about Catherine but worry about Faith. You have two weeks off next month, until, if you want to, you can keep coming here". Ken says.

Jacob goes back home and thinks about it over night. In the morning eating cereal before work, "Faith, do you want to go on vacation next month"? Jacob asked. Faith's eyes open with happiness. "Really! Oh yes I would love to, I saved money to go to Hawaii". Faith says as she jumps up and down with excitement. (And Jacob notices the jiggle physics). So They created a plan to go on vacation next month for two weeks.
