I don't care where I'm going, as long as it's as far away from them as physically possible. Down a small footpath that snakes through the trees and up a steep hill. Climbing higher and higher, closing in on the heavens above. My lungs burning and my muscles aching, not turning around or slowing down my pace.

At the top I slumped over trying to catch my breath. Every intake of fresh air is ardent, like fire had corrupted me from within. I compose myself as best as I can before standing up straight and taking in the view around me. I'm finding myself on a high cliff. As far as the eye can see stars twinkles and a big full moon guides over them, like a parent taking responsibility. I walk closer towards the edge as if it's urging me on. Standing at the peak of the boundary, I take in the silence and tranquillity of the moment and allow the bottled up emotions to spill over.

My cheeks, once again wet with tears but this time I can't seem to put a cap on it. Screams ripples through the atmosphere as they part my lips. Hoping that the hills would answer. Another painful outcry tumbles from my mouth, followed by another and another. Mentally exhausted and it doesn't help that my throat feels raw. I can't go back there and I don't ever want to return. It's best to start by setting myself free from what I've come to love. Six years worth of memories and a pinky promise all destroyed in a matter of moments.

The crushing of leafs and rolling pebbles pulls my attention away from the picture perfect horizon. "Move away slowly, you really don't want to do that. I'm sure that whatever your facing can be healed with time," an endearing manner of speech reach my ears. Me standing at the edge of the cliff like this must seem suicidal to others. Another loud sob slips out. "Please Miss, take my hand and I'll help you," he quipped as his hand gently stroke my arm. I place my hand within his and he turned me around at a safe pace.

As my eyes locked with his reddish ones my heart grew a set of wings. It's a feeling that I can't even begin to describe. It's so surreal and unheard off. He gives me a small yet perfect side smile as he pulls me towards him. "Hey, I'm Midnight," he introduce himself and my breath caught up in my throat.

Maybe faith has something else in store for me. Perhaps this right here is the beginning of something real. Something true and magnificent. I give the handsome stranger a sweet smile as I politely introduce myself. He smiles at me broadly, a smile that could stop your world from turning and make you believe in the fabulous world that's trapped between the pages of a book.

If this is me being a false enchantress, than I'll rather give them counterfeited hope than nothing at all.
