His lips curved into a smile when he found out who Jade really was. He even surrounded her, making her quite nervous. Her heart was pounding because her identity was exposed by her stepbrother.

"Well, I didn't expect you to be almost the same species as me, just a different name. What? Vampire? The bloodsucker?" said Efran as if mocking her.

Jade tried to stay still and kept trying to act like she wouldn't be afraid of anything. At least she knew that Shane was protecting her from afar and she was sure that Shane would come soon even if it would show who he was.

"Do you have an Alpha? Or pack?" Jade asked, raising her voice. She ignored what Efran said because she wanted to find an opening to make Efran feel cornered.
