34 Where Is Miracle?

Jace's POV

I get back to the marketing department, but my mind is occupied by Mr. White, I am wondering if he asked Miracle the same question. Is she going to tell her dad about her real feelings for me? I felt so nervous when I got inside his office a while ago. He looked at me for a very long time before he talked.

"Jace do you love my daughter?" He ordered me, It was good since I controlled myself, I didn't have any reaction, I kept my expression tough to read, it would be terrible if Miracle is present, her face alone could melt my resolved.

"I don't fancy your daughter romantically, Mr. White. I have a girlfriend back home waiting for me. I am planning to marry her after my contract expired as Ms. Miracle's bodyguard." I replied, but to be honest, I don't have plans for marrying Caitlin yet, now that my feelings for Miracle are getting stronger by the day, it was a lie. It was the safest answer to stop the doubts of Mr. White.

"Very well then, I just want to remind you Jace, I do not allow you to get involved with my daughter. Are you aware that she has her eyes for you?" I am shocked by Mr. White's question.

"I don't think so, Mr. White." I said, and I looked him in the eyes.

"How can you explain about this, Jace?" He showed me the CCTV footage. I was carrying Miracle in going to the parking lot. She can hardly walk because of her sores on her ankles.

"About that, sir, she wore her new shoes that day, and she was standing for how many hours in front of the photocopier, she had blisters on her both ankles, and she can't walk properly, so I carried her because the car is so far away." I answered.

"Is that so? Mr. King you could have gotten the ride and let Miracle wait for you in front of the building. You don't need to carry her, you are smart Jace, how could you not think such trivial thing?" He sighed. Yeah, Mr. White was right. It never crossed my mind. I just wish to carry her that time, I crave to feel her warm body, I can still remember the sensation I felt when she put her arms around my neck. She smelled so good that I wanted to kiss her at that moment.

I didn't expect her to follow me in his dad's office. I know my face flushed when she gets inside the office, I was thinking about her.

"Jace!" Stella called me.

"Yes, Stella?" I turned to her.

"Where is Miracle? It has been already lunchtime, yet she is still not around?" She inquired.

"I heard Mr. White's assistant requested for her." I answered.

"Wow! Is Miracle's family close with the assistant of the CEO?" She asked.

"I don't know Stella, maybe that is why she had her training here. Yeah, it is almost break time. I think she will not be joining us for lunch." I said, then I try calling her phone. My call was sent to voice mail. I can't go back in there, unless Mr. White's wants to see me.

I keep calling her phone, but it is still off. Maybe she is having lunch with her father, she could have texted me. I am used to seeing her by my side every day. I feel so restless, I think something is going on. Stella and Chad showed me the post in social media, one of the employees has posted it on her account, and it has been shared multiple times. Miracle is looking up at me, thank God her hair was messed up and it covers her face. It captured perfectly my face, some comments were so funny, many girls asked for my name and commented they want to be in the same position with Miracle. They hailed me hot and handsome, I am flattered and worried at the same time. I could lose my job, maybe Mr. White is still deliberating about his verdict of my actions.

I eat my lunch together with Chad and Stella. Then the afternoon passed quickly. I can't take it anymore, I called the office of Mr. Michael, his secretary answered the phone.

"Hello, Rey, this is Jace, Ms. Miracle's bodyguard, is she still there with his father?" I asked.

"No! She left ten minutes after you get out of the room of Mr. White." He replied.

"What?" My voice is so loud that all the employees from their cubicle look at me with confusions on their faces, especially Stella and Chad. I felt cold as if ice is pouring down on my entire body. I told Rey that Miracle hasn't come back to the station, and I called Charles immediately. We searched the entire building, but she wasn't there. I communicated to the security in charge of the building and asked access for the CCTV footage.

Mr. White is so angry now. He summoned all the Elite bodyguards after we found out she left the building by changing her clothes. The janitress was called, I pity her, and I spoke to Mr. White bravely.

"Sir, Ms. Mira didn't return to her assigned department, so I assumed she was spending her time with you, and I think the janitress has nothing to do with it, it was Miracle's idea to borrow or bought her uniform. It would be unfair to her, if she is going to lose her job because of Miracle's mischief."

"Don't tell me what to do, Mr. King. It was your duty to watch out for my girl. I demand you to bring back my daughter Jace as soon as possible." He said, I felt he was so angry, yet he remained calm. He called Mr. Norton the head of the security department. He doesn't wish to involve the police, I know he is protecting her girl at the same time. Miracle will hate him even more if he will send the law enforcement. He ordered more bodyguards to seek for Miracle.

"Why are you still standing there, Mr. King?" He demanded angrily, I didn't move, I need to know what happened.

"What happened, sir? I just need to know what caused Ms. Mira to do all this?" I begged.

"You are really like him Jace, that is why Miracle likes you, she can feel it, your personality reminds him of Johnny, you are concerned about Mira's feelings." He said, I can see his face softened.

"I care for your daughter Mr. White, I know I am not in the position to say this because I may not get close to her, but I can't push her away. She needed a friend. She wants to be friends with me, Mr. White. Your girl is so lonely, and she needs attention and care." I stated, I can't stand it anymore. I remember all she told me.

"Jace I am asking you to take her back safely. I can't take it if something happens to her." He is pleading.

"Don't worry Sir, I will do all I can take her back, and I promise I will get her back." I responded.

"I am sorry Jace, she left because I informed her you are getting married. I know my daughter has feelings for you. I asked her to stay away from you because I won't allow you to be with her. I can make amendments Jace, as a father the safety and happiness of my girl comes first. But I realize you have someone you treasure in your heart, and I can't ask you to love my daughter, it would be unfair to you. I don't want her to get hurt in the end Jace, and I won't hold you back, I felt guilty about your father's choice. Believed me Jace, I didn't beg him. It was all his decision to stick around with Miracle." He said, I don't know what to say. I couldn't believe Mr. White is giving me permission to be with his daughter.

I am free to love Miracle, but the face of Caitlin tormented me. Life is really unfair. I wish I hadn't met Miracle.

I get out of his office with a troubled heart. I felt so worried that something might happen to her. I was stupid, why did I tell that lie to Mr. White, getting married is not part of my plan yet. I can't believe Miracle would do this. I don't know what will happen to me if something happened to her, if they have kidnapped her for sure the kidnappers had called already.

I don't want her to encounter the same trauma again, she needs to experience happiness and love. Wow! I am the only one who can make her happy, but I am making her miserable right now. I still can't believe that she has feelings for me. Miracle told his father about me, I felt so elated that she is proud of me. I wish to protect and make her happy. I miss her terribly, I know I am being selfish.

There is one question that keeps playing in my mind, where is Miracle?
