I Need To Avoid Miracle

Jace's POV

I changed my clothes after we got home, I need to meet Trish tonight, we agreed to see each other every spare time I have. I know Trish will grill me with lots of questions. I am already at the parking lot when I received a message from her stating she is cooking dinner and the details of the address of her flat.

"Good evening, Jace!" Trish welcomed me with a wide grin on her face the moment she opened the wooden door. I handed her the wine that I bought at the wine shop near at the hotel. Her accommodation is cozy, it is nice and spacious, she is renting the place with her office mate and fortunately, her friend is out on a date so the place is all ours for the evening.

She served the mouthwatering food, and we dine in silence, she offered me dessert, but I declined since I am so full, I devour almost half of the garlic butter shrimp recipe she prepared and the beefsteak is superb. She poured some drink into my wine glass when she looked at my eyes with a total seriousness that made my entire body trembled.

"Jace, tell me what is going on?" She asked without breaking eye contact.

"What you mean Trish? I don't understand, you are scaring me, you know, I know that look Trish, we have known each other for so long, can you ask me a specific question? So, I can give you a thorough answer." I said.

"Okay, how long have you been in love with the enemy?" She asked me and I am taken aback by her question.

"What are you talking about, Trish?" I asked, I am screwed.

"Jace I can see the way you looked at her, spit it out Jace before I can't control myself and slap you." She said, and I know Trish is angry with me.

I covered my face with my hands and sighed, Trish is asking me how I felt about Miracle. It took me a long time before I looked at her again.

"I am confused Trish, I don't even know why I feel this way to her and I hate myself. I felt you despise me, but to be honest, I am lost never in my life I expected this to happen, I should have stayed in California and forget about this stupid revenge I planned for a long time." I sighed.

"Oh! Jace, I am sorry, I know I should have waited until you tell me in your free will, but I can't sleep tonight without knowing the truth. You are in love with her Jace, you care for her more than Caitlin." She declared, and it hit me, and I felt so scared, I can't lose Caitlin she is very important to me.

"No! Trish, I love Caitlin for so long now, I will never leave her, I just can't." I replied.

"I just hope you mean that Jace, Caitlin is my best friend too, I don't know how to tell her about this." She answered, her words made my eyes go big.

"Please, don't do that, besides, there is nothing going on between Miracle and me, we are not an item, and I tried everything I can to stay away from her, and I already told you, Mr. White will kick my ass if I will court her daughter. She is off limits, and I am a nobody Trish, Miracle is a billion dollar girl while I am just a cent. Our worlds are so different, and she doesn't deserve someone like me." I said.

"You like her Jace, your eyes are sparkling just mentioning her name makes you alive." She spoke.

"She likes you to Jace, the way she gazes at you is so transparent that the heiress of the White empire is crazy about you. How many times have you kissed her?" I can't believe Trish.

"More than once." I don't want to lie to my best friend.

"My God, Jace! I knew it, the way you looked at her lips like you need to claim her mouth, even in front of us, I am not blind Jace. How are you going to stop all this?" She asked me.

"I love you Jace and I don't wish you to have regrets in the future, I don't want you to suffer, but I love Caitlin too, I am giving you enough time to think all this clearly Jace or I don't have a choice but to tell her what is going on with your life. Caitlin deserves to know the truth Jace." She said.

"Okay, thank you, Trish, and I am sorry. I should have known she is not what I thought she was. Miracle is innocent, she is down to earth and has an empty and lonely existence. She doesn't even have real friends she can confide with. She is living a lifestyle different from what I have learned. I pity her and I crave to help her, but I didn't expect to fall for her. I don't even know how to stop myself from kissing her." I said and I felt so defeated and confused.

"Oh! Jace, I know it was the first time I saw her, yet when I realized there is something going on with you two, I wish to hate her, but I am also drawn to her. I can't blame you, Jace, but you need to do the right thing." She responded.

We fell silent and sip our wine. I am glad that Trish opened it up, at least now she knows the truth. It feels like Trish pulled out a thorn from my heart.

"Can you tell me what to do, Trish?" I asked her.

"Jace, you are the only one who can solve this problem, I don't even know what to think anymore, since you can't have Miracle just stay away from her, keep your distance, maybe in that way you can tame your feelings for her." Trish said, then she sits besides me and tap my shoulder.

"Yeah! I think I need to do that, thanks Trish, for always being there for me and for Caitlin." I said, and I hugged her tightly.

"You are welcome Jace, who else will help each other, don't forget Jace Dylan, I am your best friend forever." She muttered.

"I know Trish when are you going to introduce me to your so-called boyfriend?" I changed the topic, I want to stop thinking about Miracle.

"Ignore it Jace, we broke up one month ago, and I don't wish to talk about it." She said.

"I have a colleague, and he will be a millionaire soon, if you are interested I will give your number to him, he is single and available, he is not looking for a serious relationship as of the moment, but who knows? Maybe you are the only one who can change his mind." I said.

"Wow! I appreciate that, I am still young Jace, and I am not like you who is always thoughtful, I didn't even expect you to fall for another girl, but she is Miracle White, I think her beauty will fascinate anyone." Trish declared.

"Please, Trish stop it already, I thought you wanted to help me forget about Miracle, how can I do that if you keep reminding me how beautiful she is? I said, frustrated.

"Yeah, right? I am sorry, Jace." She smiled at me.

I left Trish's apartment past eleven in the evening, I walked to my car with mixed emotions. I don't know what I feel anymore.

We arrived early in the office, I am glad Miracle had eaten her breakfast already. I am wondering why most of the girls are looking at me, I caught them whispering to each other, then they giggled. They are watching something on their phone.

"Hey handsome!" Stella greeted me with a wide grin on her face.

"Good morning, Stella. Where is Chad?" I asked her.

"I don't know where he goes, but we arrived here at the same time because he is my ride, you know."

"Yeah, of course." I said, and I smiled at her too.

I followed Trish's advised and avoided Miracle this morning, I know she can feel it, but I am glad that she is not in the mood to talk to me either.

It was ten in the morning when I received a call from Mr. White's office.

"Good morning! This is Michael, Mr. White's personal assistant, Is this Jace Dylan King?" He inquired.

"Yes, sir! This is Jace, how may I help you, sir?" I asked, I am wondering why is he calling me.

"Mr. White wants to meet you now in his office, can you come up here Mr. King?" He asked, I suddenly felt nervous, what have I done?

"Yes, sir! I will go there right now."

"Thank you, Jace, see you in a while." He said, and he hangs up the phone, I want to tell Miracle I am summoned to his father's office, but I can't find her anywhere, so I texted her I will be gone for a while, and I proceed to Mr. Thomas White's Office on the top floor of the building.
