Run away
Pearl was a dark, dirty room and very smelling. Pearl wasn't able to stand the offensive odor of the room plus how irritating it was. Her head and back was aching as a result of the hard floor which she slept on.
"You are awake" a masculine voice echoed, Pearl tried raising her head to see who was that but it was dark, she couldn't see a damn thing.
"Where am I?" She asked "shut up! Else I would tie you mouth" another deeper voice echoed. Pearl sat on the floor trying to listen to their conversation but she heard nothing.
"All of you come here" a woman spoke and Pearl could hear footsteps going to the woman's direction. She stood up and looked around, she hoped this was her escape. Pearl tiptoed away in order to prevent attention but it seemed like the universe was against her the woman shouted "she is escaping"
Pearl didn't need a soothsayer to be told that is was to run away, run! Run! Run!. She was lucky to find an exist which she took but the guards wouldn't let her be, they chased her
"don't bring her back and I would have no cause to roll your heads on the ground" Pearl heard the woman say. Whoever that woman was, she must really be very influential.
Pearl ran into an open street, "help! Help! Help!" She yelled and cried for help. A strong arm reached to grab her and Pearl prayed that a miracle would happen.
Meanwhile
Lina stood still watching Peres and Lucian tie Sarah up, 'wasn't she their sister, why were they using her as a bait for their mission' questions filled her head but no one was there to answer, she then remembered Naomi and Becky would definitely know something about this.
"Pearl! She is in trouble" Lina yelled, all she could see was Pearl running away from some people who chased her, she could see the images of Pearl screaming help
"she needs us" Lina didn't know when she spoke aloud "since when did you become a prophetess?" Lucian asked but the young witch was already heading towards the exist with Lyle following her. She climbed on a horse and rode fast alongside everyone.
Pearl have heard of miracles happening but she had never encountered one. The owner of the strong arm which was about to reach her was lying on the ground with his arm cut off by a sword. She looked up only to find Lyle holding a sword stained with blood.
"Lyle!" Pearl was so relieved to see him, he {Lyle} came down from the house and helped Pearl to stand, he was about to turn and leave with Pearl when a sword slashed through his hand causing blood to spill out.
"Alicia!" Lyle said with a smirk "you prodigal son!" Alicia thundered but Lyle ignored her, his priority was Pearl so he placed her on the horse before turning to face his mother- note the sarcasm
"How dare you injure one of my men?" Alicia roared "how dare you kidnap Pearl" Peres was now the one facing Alicia.
He was done watching Alicia and Lyle fight, he had been expecting Lyle to deal with her but seems like Lyle was taking it easy on her. This woman should be placed where she belongs.
"Alicia! Have you suddenly forgotten you live at my mercy, without thinking twice I would snap your head out of your body and trust me I would feed your flesh to the vultures of the air, have you forgotten who I am, that I'm the great lord Peres, the one and only immortal on planet earth, if I wish I could kill you, all your family and even your kingdom. Who gave you the impetus, the audacity, the effrontery to kidnap one of my household? Who?" Peres blurted out in frustration or anger, only God knows.
Alicia gulped, now she knew that she was in deep trouble but she wasn't the one that would give in so easily so she said
"I'm the queen of the demons' empire, I gave myself the impetus" Peres eyes widened as he took a step closer to her she ran from his intimidating presence. She didn't want to look like a weakling especially not in front of Pearl nor Lina.
"I will get you for this" she said before climbing on her and riding off. Lyle hissed and climbed on his and everyone followed suite.
When they got home everyone ran to hug Pearl, it seemed like she had gone for years. "Hope they didn't hurt you" Lyle asked, his eyes gazing her body "no" she replied
"but I was drugged" she added. For some reason Lina felt jealous, she wished she was the one kidnapped 'oh snap out of it Lina' her inner mind scolded her and she left for her room.
Lina collapsed on the bed when she arrived, she had a lot of things to sort out, first; her ability to sense danger from a very far distance. Second; queen Alicia and her awkward relationship with her family, she was still lying on the bed when Naomi and Becky walked in. Her gossips were here.
"Welcome my princess" they greeted in unison "thank you" Lina replied and sat on the stool. They began to undress her and loose the pins holding her hair. "Who is queen Alicia?" Lina asked "my princess did you meet her” Becky asked back "yes, but an awkward one"
"Why is she so hostile towards her family?" Lina asked "she is on a vengeful mission" Naomi replied "vengeful mission?" Lina asked unable to comprehend what they were telling her
"The queen's father was killed by lord Philip's father during his reign so when his son the present lord Philip declared his interest in her, she took it upon herself to revenge for her father, she sworn that lord Philip would be the last lord from their lineage and she would do everything to make sure that happens even if it takes her life"
"If the kingdom knows about her plan, why don't they kill her?" "This is why the demons hate the witches more than the fairies" Becky responded "I don't understand" Lina was confused
"she is manipulating the kingdom with the help of a witch" Naomi said "what?" Lina was shocked
"Why don't Lyle get to the bottom of this mess?" "Our prince is working on it, he is smart as well as his mother" "what are her plans? To kill her sons?"
"That is the more reason why she had children outside her marriage, with her claimed lover" this statement made Lina's eyes widen "what the fuck is wrong with lord Philip?" Lina yelled "he is not aware of this, he is been manipulated" Naomi said sadly.
Lina was now able to understand Lyle's relationship with Sarah, Sarah was his stepsister.
'Indeed all that glitter isn't gold, be contented with what you have. Her kingdom and that of the fairy's envied the demons' empire only if they knew the brawling war' Lina hissed in disappointment.
Suddenly Lina heard some crashing noise outside, her eyes locked with that Naomi and Becky before dashing out.
