Chapter 42: victory

When Justin finished taking care of Ella's sprain, he carried her out since they were hearing loud cheers from outside. luckily, they were on time to hear the girls explaining the deal Lianne had just struck.

"are you sure about this?" jordy asked in concern

"yes I'm fine" Lianne answered

"cousin, what about your leg. you don't have to do this" Ella assured her worriedly

" my leg's fine, if not for you guys I wouldn't have been worried about my leg has been okay for à lóng time but you guys wouldn't listen. besides, it's been a long since I played basketball. I miss my favourite sport" Lianne said with a sardonic smile.

Lianne had hurt her leg some months back and since then, she had been prohibited by her brothers from playing basketball in order for it to heal quickly. unknown to them, she hadn't been hurt by just playing basketball, someone had deliberately tried to hurt her but she wasn't planning on telling them that. they were restraining her when she just got hurt from playing basketball, imagine what they'll do if they find out the truth

" are you sure?" Jordy asked her. he was worried that something would happen to her.

"I'm fine don't worry" Lianne assured him, giving him a small smile.

few minutes later, Lianne and Jade were standing at both sides of the basketball court. although they had started the game not so long ago, Lianne was already in the lead. Jade hadn't even scored a single goal.

according to the promise Lianne made to Jade at the beginning of the match, it was just one point left for Lianne to claim victory much to the dismay of Jade.

Lianne walked up to Jade. "I'm sure you still remember our deal, don't you?" Lianne asked

"do you know who I am? how dare you ask me to apologize?" Jade asked furiously that Lianne thought she was going to explode

"calm down Jade. I didn't ask you to apologize, you were the one who brought it up and we struck a deal. you shouldn't back out of your own deal now, should you?" Lianne asked

" you cheated. there was no way you could have won. you must have cheated" Jade accused

"Jade it seems like you forget too soon. do you remember what I said the last time. I'm not someone who doesn't carry out my threats so for your sake I plead with you to thread cautiously" Lianne said in a low voice

"are you threatening me?" Jade asked angrily to cover up the fear she was feeling at the moment

"I dare not. anyways, I hope to see you soon" Lianne said and blew an invisible kiss towards her before they all walked away leaving the rest seething in anger

"Lianne, don't you think you let them of to easily?" M asked. left to her, she would have ensured Jade knelt down and apologized

"there were so many people there especially fans. I still have to keep my image. besides, doing that would just cause unwanted trouble" Lianne said

Jade on the other hand was seething in rage.

"why don't you just call your dad and make sure he deals with her?" Nora asked her cousin

"that's the problem. she knows who I am and yet she still does this. I'm wondering why?" Jade replied
