I knew Rory would change Misa's mind. After seeing how the kids at the park tried so hard to cling onto him, it shouldn't have been a surprise when Rory did the same. He was a magnet for kids, and he loved them just as much.

"Uncle Misa, will you come for dinner tomorrow? Bella is cooking." She eagerly invited him as she munched on the burger she'd insisted on having for dinner.

Misa looked at me then at Tristan, silently asking for permission. "Uh…"

"Misael is probably busy." Tristan said.

I caught the disappointment on my brother's face before he masked it with a smile.

"Sorry, princess. I'll try to come next time."

She had probably been disappointed many times, because she instantly knew there wouldn't be a next time. Her eyes drooped. "Okay."

Misa grumbled something under his breath and gave in. "You know what? My appointments can wait. I'll come."
