"You remember the way to your room, don't you?" I asked. Of course she did. It wasn't a decade ago that she was here.

I had needed something to say to stop myself from falling into the ditch I was digging for myself. I'd been teasing her a moment ago, then I realized she pretty much called me her type, which made my brain misfire. This woman was getting under my skin the longer she sat here.

I had promised myself to be professional with her. Getting involved with Aurora's nanny was a mistake in itself. One wrong move and she would be gone, leaving my daughter heartbroken and rebellious yet again. The last few days had been hard enough. Now that I knew she was married, she was even more off-limits.
