A 'TINY' CHANGE

"I MEAN, it's not that I have anything against Omega x Omega relationship. But I just personally just don't feel attracted to someone of the same secondary gender," Robin continued.

Haneul didn't really have a problem with Robin's preference. The surprising thing here was the fact that the other was actually an Omega. It was a good thing that he wasn't drinking or eating anything when he heard Robin say that. Or else, he would have choked by now.

He couldn't help but stare at Robin once again. With his height and physique, it was easy to mistake him for an Alpha. It's not that Haneul was being judgmental or had a preconceived notion of what an Alpha or Omega should look like, but no one would blame him for assuming Robin was an Alpha. The surprised look on his mother's face confirmed she had thought the same.

Haneul thought that he was already tall for an Omega. He didn't expect that there would be another Omega who was a few centimetere taller than him. Maybe he also manifested late?

It seemed that his mother also had the same thoughts because he heard her asking;

"Please excuse my curiosity, but did Robin manifest late? It's okay if you'd rather not say."

"Oh, it's fine, Auntie," Robin said, his expression showing that he really didn't mind. "I've actually been asked that question many times already. It's probably because I'm too tall for an Omega. People often assume my growth spurt had already ended when I manifested, but the truth is, I manifested at 14. My Omega dad is also really tall, so I guess I got my height from him. I also love to work out, so my physique is bigger compared to other Omegas."

What Haneul got from that, aside from the fact that Robin manifested at an age when Omega usually manifest, was that the one who gave birth to him was a male Omega. Considering that he had mentioned that he had a stepmother, then it's clear that his Omega dad was already separated or divorced from his other father.

This was another reality check for Haneul. The fact that some men could get pregnant in this world. Something that might happen to him someday. At that thought, his first reaction was to just clear it from his mind. To act like he never heard anything. But he stopped himself before he could.

Didn't he already tell himself that he would accept whatever changes that happened in his body? That he would no longer run away from this reality?

He took a deep breath and just let himself process the things he had heard. Once he did, he remembered what Yeomra said about parallel worlds being completely the same but just have very tiny differences here and there.

This world had secondary genders, a change he didn't think was 'tiny' at all. Considering Robin mentioning his Omega dad, this person was probably a woman in Haneul's original world, right? He was sure that the same changes were present all over the world.

If a person's gender had completely changed in this world, could one really consider that as a 'tiny' change?

The only response he had to that was, 'Damn Yeomra.'

Haneul was just glad that his parents didn't have this kind of alteration. He wasn't sure if he could still treat them the same if the sex of one of them had changed. Because for him, it would be hard to think that they were the same parent he had in his original world.

"It's fine to be tall. At least Robin is very handsome."

Haneul heard his mother say, pulling his attention back to the current situation.

Robin smiled sheepishly. "Thank you, Auntie."

"Shall we eat?" His mother said, giving both Haneul and Robin disposable chopsticks. "Oh, but can you use chopsticks, Robin?" she asked worriedly when she belatedly remembered that Robin was a foreigner.

"Yes, Auntie. I'm very good at using chopsticks."

His mother let out a relieved sigh. "That's good. Then, let's eat. The two of you still have an audition later, so you have to eat more to have more energy."

And they finally started eating lunch.

During the course of the meal, both his mother and Robin continued to talk. It was mostly his mother asking about Robin's experience as an Omega so far. She's probably interested in that because of Haneul.

Just by observing how she treated Robin—speaking gently to him and occasionally offering him food—one could see that she had completely let her guard down. Learning that Robin was an Omega had completely transformed her initial cautious demeanor.

If one saw this scene from start to finish without knowing anything about his mother, they might think that she had some sort of discrimination against Alphas. But no, it's just her being overprotective of his recently manifested Omega son.

She's probably just glad that there's another Omega who's auditioning alongside Haneul.

But that didn't mean that her interaction with Robin was not genuine. It's very obvious that she liked the guy. In fact, by the end of their meal, she almost looked like she wanted to adopt the other.

He didn't know if it was because his mother was just that easy to please, or if Robin simply had the ability to make people easily like him. Maybe it was a little bit of both.

Unknowingly, a smile appeared on Haneul's lips while watching the two.
