Selling our daughter?

She was only worried about to whom she was going to marry. And after knowing that it was William, her heart broke. She insisted his father to stop this marriage but he didn't listen.

Now a stranger came to their palace and asked for her hand, and what? Her father agreed? Just like that? What the hell is going? She couldn't understand how can her father let a stranger marry his daughter.

"Don't worry dear, i have heard that he is a good man. He will keep you happy." Her mother comforted seeing how tensed she was.

She said such a thing but the truth was that she herself was troubled. What happened that her husband agreed to marry his daughter to an unknown person?

She walked out of Hallie's room and strolled through the hallways to her room. She wants to know, why the hell did he agreed so suddenly.

When she entered the room, she found Arthur standing near the window, his back towards her and he was looking outside.

"I know what you want to ask." He said, still looking outside.

"Oh, so why don't you tell me the answer of what I want to ask."

"Listen Maria, I want you to try to understand what I am saying. His kingdom is more powerful than Andrew's....We could be good allies Annnnnnnnd along with that they are ready to give us thirty percent of their kingdom's economy. We are in benefit so why not?" Arthur said while grinning to himself.

Meanwhile Maria couldn't believe her ears. She wanted to ask him to say it again but couldn't bring herself to. In short, he is SELLING our daughter in the name of marriage.

"A... rthur?" She couldn't breathe. "Do you even.....know..what are y....you saying?"

"Of course dear, I know. Do you know,.how beneficial this marriage will be to us?" He grabbed her with her shoulder and pulled her closer. But Maria couldn't tolerate this anymore. She pulled away from him and slapped him.

"Have you gone mad, Arthur? She is our daughter and you are doing what? Selling her..." She spat.

While Maria was shouting over him, he was just controlling himself and his anger. He wanted this marriage to get done without any argument. So, he didn't do anything and cut her off, he spoke. "Pack her things, she has to live with him from now."

She stopped, her eyes wide opened. "WHAT? Why the hell she will live with them? You know this marriage didn't happened yet."

"I know but Prince Darius wants her to live with him from now on."

"You are doing this just because the Prince wants this. Did you even think about what our daughter wants? You never loved her like a father and now you are selling her just for you own benefits." Maria was about to break in tears but she controlled herself for the sake of her daughter.

"I can't listen to you anymore. I tried talking to you nicely but you aren't understanding. Just go and tell her that she has to move jn with him. Pack her things. She will leave this castle tomorrow." Saying this he walked out of room, leaving Maria in a drastic shock.

She is so shocked by the fact of selling her.

How can her father be so cruel to do this to his own daughter? His own blood?

She wiped her tears and went to Hallie's room.

She stood at the door watching Hallie crying sitting on the floor. She locked the door and sat beside her and patted her gently

Hallie looked up to see her mother's face swollen by crying. "Hallie, dear...."

Maria was going to speak when Hallie cut her off. "Don't mother, I know what you want to say. I heard everything. Father is selling me to the Prince of Gantrick." Tears rolled down her cheeks like a river. She couldn't stop crying.

"Oh dear, I am so sorry. I couldn't do anything." Her mother hugged her tightly as she sobbed. "You have done nothing wrong, Mother. Don't blame yourself."

They sat their still with a complete silence surrounding them.

Few hours later, Hallie started to pack her things and her mother helped her. They thoroughly talked over this. Maria has told her that she will try to convince his father but Hallie didn't listen. She knew he would never be convinced. He can't be convinced.

Both of them didn't attended the dinner. When the King asked the maids to bring them down, they told him that Her Highness has forbid them to disturb them. When the King got up after eating, then both came and ate.

Next morning,

A carriage was waiting outside for her. She hugged her mother one last time and said her goodbye. They both were crying but there was not a single emotion on her father's face.

She didn't cared enough to hug her father and got into the carriage. It started moving. She was going far away from her home. Far away from her dream of becoming a ruler.

She clearly remembers the day when she told her father that she wanted to rule. He said, "Have you gone mad? Only men are capable of ruling. Women are only to stand at their side by marrying them and giving birth the heirs of the kingdom."

She shook her head looked towards her future. What's awaiting for her in that new Kingdom? She already knew that, from now on her life will not be happy anymore. She has to suffer. A lot.

The carriage reached the palace and all she could see was huge walls and a big door.

"Your highness, we have reached. His highness might be waiting for you insist" said the coachman.

She nodded and thanked him.

She got inside and saw the beautiful architecture of the palace. Every single thing was built perfectly. There was not a single flaw. There were marvelous pillars .

Then the throne. The king's throne.

She didn't know why but she found herself getting close to that throne. Suddenly a voice came up from her behind, "Who are you?"

She turned to see, an old man in his fifties or sixties with a white beard. He was looking angry but suddenly his expression change into a soft smile.
