Nova pushed herself to her feet after a few minutes, preparing to leave for Roan's mansion just like he said. She didn't even remember to check for Rosa when she got to the foyer, preoccupied with her thoughts.

If it was just her first day working for Roan and she already felt like this, would she even be able to make it through the first month at this rate?

She already had her boots off in the foyer, trudging up the stairs to take a shower and then go right to bed. Roan had been willing to take her out for dinner and Nova had almost accepted the offer but her heart couldn't handle any more presumptions.

Nova stopped in the middle of the room Roan had given her, feeling very wretched. What was she doing? Why was she acting so self-conceited? It was unlike her…

With that thought, she dropped her boots on the ground and brought out her phone and laptop from her tote bag, quickly searching for classy restaurants so they could have that dinner.
