Chapter 1. You're fired.

"You're fired!!" Stacy's boss yelled as soon as she entered his office and she felt like the world had come to an end. The words kept ringing in her ears but she couldn't comprehend them.

Stacy Dale was an accountant in a firm and she was so good at her job. Her boss would always praise her for bringing in all those clients and she had been awarded best employee for three years. She had always been envied by fellow employees and most of them thought she seduced mentioned into becoming clients with her beautiful face, black eyes that seemed to look into your soul and her long black hair.

She had to work hard to pay off her student loans and also pay for her grandmother's surgery. She worked in the same company with her best friend since high school Ginna Reys. They were very good friends and would share everything with each other. She also had to give her boyfriend some money since he wanted to buy a house for them and his parents. Her boyfriend, Kevin Veal was so loving and they had been together since college. She had decided that since he wouldnt propose then she would propose to him and she had made all the arrangements for tonight. It was supposed to be the greatest day of her life but then she was fired.

When Stacy got to work two days ago, a client's wife came with misleading photos and accused her of having an affair with her husband.

"You b****, how dare you try and seduce my husband. I have seen a lot of women like you. Do you even know how long I have been married and where we came from with him? You just want his money but I will never let you steal him away. I have dealt with many others and I will deal with you today." She shouted.

"Madam Jones, you are mistaken. I really have nothing to do with your husband. It was just a gathering and there were other people there. I don't know what they told you but I am really innocent. Besides I already have a boyfriend." Stacy tried to explain.

" You even have a boyfriend and you still want to take my husband from me, today I shall teach you a lesson on behalf of your boyfriend. And if there were other people why aren't they in the photos? How come its only you two? Do you take me for a fool? Madam Jones spoke as she charged to Stacy and started pulling her hair. No one noticed the smile on Ginna's face as Stacy was being accused. Stacy tried to pull herself from the older woman but she was too strong for her. She looked at the coworjers seeking help but everyone just looked on.

"I can't believe Stacy is that kind of person. No wonder she has been best employee for three years in a row. Who knows how many clients she seduced." One colleague said. 

"No, Stacy is not like that. She would never do anything of that kind. Besides she has a boyfriend who loves her a lot." Ginna defended.

" You are too naive, Ginna. Don't be blinded by that girl. She's not good at all." The colleague adviced. 

Finally, the security guards came and escorted Madam Jones out but Stacy was already beaten and her reputation ruined. She tried calling Mr. Jones to tell his wife the truth but he didn't answer and then switched off his phone. She really had no way to clear her name and everyone in the company started isolating her.

When the situation worsened with Madam Jones bringing women to strike outside the company so that Stacy can be fired or else they wouldn't allow their husbands to work with the firm anymore, the boss has no choice but to fire his best employee.

Stacy could understand why she was fired after all she couldn't hinder the company anymore so she packed her belongings and went out. The women parched outside saw her carrying her belongings and hurled abused at her before they left. Stacy felt so small but she remembered that today was a big day so she cheered up and went home to continue preparing.

When Stacy reached home, she headed straight to the bathroom and had a refreshing bath as if washing away all the stress.

'Think only positive things. This day can still be the best day.' She thought as she put on her make up in the mirror.

She picked a sexy red dress from the wardrobe and matched it with her favorite black heels. Stacy smiled when she saw herself in the mirror. 'I didn't know i could look this tempting' she thought.

On the way to the restaurant, Stacy called the manager to confirm the booking and preparations. 

"Hello, I hope everything is ready" she inquired.

"Yes madam, everything is in place. We are just waiting for your arrival." The manager replied with a smile since he knew he had a big client tonight.

When she confirmed with the restaurant, she called her boyfriend to remind him.

"Kevin, I hope you are on your way. Remember we have a dinner date tonight." Stacy said as soon as the phone was answered.

"Oh honey, thanks for reminding me. I almost forgot. You know work has been quite hectic lately so I got busy. Let me finish up here and I will be with you in half an hour." Kevin told her in a sweet and gentle voice that Stacy was so used to.

"Ok, please don't be too long. I will be waiting for you." Stacy said before hanging up so as not to disturb Kevin any longer.

Stacy reached the restaurant and checked on all the arrangements and she was truly satisfied.

"Thanks a lot, this is exactly what I wanted. I couldn't have prepared it better myself." Stacy told Elliot the manager as she admired how the restaurant had been transformed.

This restaurant was where Kevin and her had made their relationship official so it was really a special place to her. That is why she wanted to propose in this very place.

"You are our customer madam and your wish is our command. We can do everything to make your night amazing." Elliot told her fawningly.

"So when will your Mr. K be here" Elliot asked again trying to make conversation.

" He said he will be here in about half an hour. He is still held up at work at the moment." Stacy said looking at the watch for the eighth time since she came in.

"Ok madam, so if you will excuse me. I have to check on other important tasks going on." Elliot said as he left Stacy to her own devices.

Stacy waited for Kevin but even after two hours, he hadn't come yet.
